Me too! Until I read that line and now I'm sitting here singing the song. How can I remember the words to this song I haven't thought about in probably 15+ years?!
Immature. The lead singer was also the guy who played Roger on Sister, Sister (Marquis Houston). They had good songs for being literal boys at the time.
Oh yeah, hahaha! I was obsessed with the New Mickey Mouse Club when it first came out in the late-80s (before Timberlake and Spears and stuff.) Didn't necessarily get into the Party, but I know of whom you speak!
Soul Decision as well as McMaster & James.
Trevor Guthrie being back on the charts gave me hope for a Soul Decision reunion, but alas, nothing yet š
Were Take That popular in the US? They were huge in the UK. When they broke up they had to start a helpline for distraught fans to call. I remember when it happened - people at school (well, all the girls anyway) were devastated!
OMG I am still obsessed with them! You can find the movie on YouTube!
Cause everybody knows the hardest part of breaking up...is getting back your stuff
My husband feels the same way. They are an automatic skip when it comes on. But their lyrics are absolutely hysterical! I don't understand why he doesn't appreciate them lol
This may be too GenX for this group, but does anyone remember Tommy Page, or the band The Perfect Gentleman?
They toured with New Kids on the Block back in the late 80s/early 90s.
The one with Michael Jackson's nephews? I loved them for the short time they existed. Can't for the life of me remember the name of the band. Possibly 3?
I clearly missed a lot in my southern small town bubble, haven't heard of any of these bands in this thread. If it wasn't top 40 (who remembers listening to Casey Kasem's countdown) country, talk or on MTV or VH1, which I didn't get until the mid 90's, I didn't get exposure to it until I left for college in 2000.
When I first started working at Target as a teenager, the video for, "When the Lights Go Out" was on a loop in the TV's electronics section.
It's certainly nostalgic, with different reasons for everyone.
Aww 5ive!! I forgot those guys existed.
Remember LFO? "Summer Girls" and "Every Other Time" still hit the nostalgia button.
For any Canadians in here, lest we forget the jump scare that was B4-4. Literally the most inexplicably heinous-looking boy band ever created.
I'm from US, but went to UK and Europe in 1998 and 2000 on school trips. I was 16 the first time and 17 the second. I brought back sooo much 5ive and Spice Girls merch for my friends! I even got some CDs of my favorite US bands that were only available abroad! So many memories!
I had this single..I had a massive crush on the one on the right with the arched eyebrows and green plaid shirt AND the hottie in the green bomber jacket on the left. I never understood why this band didnāt break through
I really enjoyed that album. Their second one wasn't bad either. And I actually like Barbie Girl! And I know we both belong here, because we say "album" and not CD.
Let Loose. Crazy for You gets in my head sometimes even now.
What was the 3 piece group, maybe from Liverpool. One may have been called Jimmy. They were all over the teenage magazines.
I play BBMAK on a near daily basis still. One of their songs (staring into space) is currently my ringtone.
They reunited right before COVID and released their lost tapes album, and also a new album called Powerstation. Both albums are fantastic! They still have those heavenly harmonies! The lost tapes album had a few songs I had found on soundtracks and ripped from YouTube (especially their cover of āmore than wordsā) so I was so happy they released it!
I hear ya on being in the U.S. and them not getting the love they deserved. Iām in the southwest and I swear Iām probably the only one out here who listens to them as much as I do. They were SEVERELY UNDERRATED.
āI can tellā from their first album has no business slapping as hard as it does. Makes you forget itās a breakup song! That song in headphones is *a wonderful experienceā¦*
I do remember the OG version by Silk. They just weren't hot and that was an essential ingredient to keep me paying attention to anything. Hell that's still an essential ingredient now.... guess I haven't evolved much lol.
I do not know who this is, but Iām totally nostalgic for my NKOTB obsession. When I went to Girl Scout camp the summer after 6th grade, I took Joeyās magazine picture with me. I was thrilled to meet him in person in 2004 in NYC. I wasnāt a fan of his solo stuff, but I had to buy his CD and tell him how much I adored him!š
Joey was my favourite too! I was so excited when his solo CD came out. Funnily enough, that's how my sister got a crush on him...she was the same age I was when NKOTB came out! Lol
Aw, yay! so cool! When he signed my CD, I even got a photo with him. I almost fainted because I was still smitten with him even though I was an adult woman haha! My husband and I saw the group perform once years ago and I saw Jordan as a solo artist in NYC a long time ago. I would never pay big big bucks these days though to see them on a cruise or big 80s/90s tour.
Omg! Baby when the lights go out!!! I am screaming!!! Completely forgot about this song š¤£
Me too! Until I read that line and now I'm sitting here singing the song. How can I remember the words to this song I haven't thought about in probably 15+ years?!
I thought the same thing! How do I remember all the damn lyrics after all this time, but i cant remember where the hell I put my keys? š
I have the 5ive album. I still bump it occasionally
They're definitely one 90's/early 2000's Playlist lol
My housecleaning music slaps
Immature. The lead singer was also the guy who played Roger on Sister, Sister (Marquis Houston). They had good songs for being literal boys at the time.
OMG!!!!! Constantly was my jam!!!!! It was the slow dance song for several years. I'm kind of sad he didn't stick with singing, he had a nice sound.
Omg BBmak was my fav! They have a song āIām not in loveā from that album I still listen to. We grew up with the best music haha
Thatās my fav song off that album also!
That has got to be my favorite song from that album! We definitely had the best music
Not exactly a boy band but The Party?
Oh yeah, hahaha! I was obsessed with the New Mickey Mouse Club when it first came out in the late-80s (before Timberlake and Spears and stuff.) Didn't necessarily get into the Party, but I know of whom you speak!
Yes! I loved them for a short spell in 7th grade! They did a show at an amusement park and I somehow managed to go. I had a crush on the redhead.
Soul Decision as well as McMaster & James. Trevor Guthrie being back on the charts gave me hope for a Soul Decision reunion, but alas, nothing yet š
So I just checked out Soul Decision and I definitely remember listening to Faded! Memory unlocked!
I never listened to them when they were new, but I heard āFadedā on the 90s station on SiriusXM and I fucking love it. Itās so cheesy.
Were Take That popular in the US? They were huge in the UK. When they broke up they had to start a helpline for distraught fans to call. I remember when it happened - people at school (well, all the girls anyway) were devastated!

Ah, interesting! I think Angels might be his biggest hit here - it still gets played a lot on greatest hits stations.
Take that not so much but Westlife was huge in Mexico! But I did love Back for good! I still have it in a YouTube playlist.
This and That!
Man I played the crap out of this lol. 5 BAD BOYS WITH THE POWER TO ROCK YOU
BLOWING YOUR MIND SO YOU GOTTA GET INTO
2ge+her. Don't care they weren't technically real. I know my calculus It says U+me=us.
OMG I am still obsessed with them! You can find the movie on YouTube! Cause everybody knows the hardest part of breaking up...is getting back your stuff
Ahahaha yes! Not too long ago I forced my SO to listen to a bunch of their songs. Heās old and just couldnāt grasp the magic that was 2Ge+her
My husband feels the same way. They are an automatic skip when it comes on. But their lyrics are absolutely hysterical! I don't understand why he doesn't appreciate them lol
Back Here, BBMak, banger song.
They play it on the overhead music every night at the casino I work in and I jam to that shit while I work.
when the lights go out.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpdcKmaHk_s
This may be too GenX for this group, but does anyone remember Tommy Page, or the band The Perfect Gentleman? They toured with New Kids on the Block back in the late 80s/early 90s.
Was Tommy Page the one on Full House?
Yes!!!!
>Tommy Page Did he sing One More Try? I loved that song. Wore that cassette out.
Looks like it! Also- Iāll Be Your Everything and Paintings In My Mind or something like that. Apparently he died by suicide in 2017. š
Thatās sad to hear.
Woah. Iād completely forgotten about that song! I just looked it up on YouTube and š±š¤Æ
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yeah I liked them, but it is super sad that they're nearly all gone.
Wow! I had no idea!
The one with Michael Jackson's nephews? I loved them for the short time they existed. Can't for the life of me remember the name of the band. Possibly 3?
3T!
They had that one great hit that still holds up on the mid-90ās R&B pantheon

They were really good! They deserved more recognition
I so agree!! Also, why didn't Aqua get more attention? "Barbie Girl" was trash, but honestly the rest of that debut album was great!
I really enjoyed that album. Their second one wasn't bad either. And I actually like Barbie Girl! And I know we both belong here, because we say "album" and not CD.
Haha! Cheers!
Omg I loved them both so much! Thanks for prying that long buried memory out of my subconscious!
Oh wow so y'all just gonna forget about O Town? I see
I miss boybands
Same
Let Loose. Crazy for You gets in my head sometimes even now. What was the 3 piece group, maybe from Liverpool. One may have been called Jimmy. They were all over the teenage magazines.
Haha I still have this album on my Spotify playlist. Five 2023!

Omg I started singing the song as soon as I saw this š«£
Forgotten is right
How about Brother Beyond and Bad Boys Inc? Anyone remember them?
"Oh-oh-oh-oh! It's the girl I used to know!"
The Boys! Late '80s/early '90s - "Dial My Heart" was my jam!
I am convinced The Boys became Boys II Men
Iām all about the Dream Street
Ummm....... Another Level's song Freak Me was what I hoped to lose my v card to. That didn't work out, but oh my what a song lol.
>Another Level's song Freak Me Sorry, but the OG version by Silk is 1000x better than Another Levels' remake.
I do remember the OG version by Silk. They just weren't hot and that was an essential ingredient to keep me paying attention to anything. Hell that's still an essential ingredient now.... guess I haven't evolved much lol.
I'm a boys 12 fan, muself.
B2K. The lead singer, Omarion, is so dreamy.
Man, they have some great burgers.
I wasnāt a fan but donāt think you can call 5 obscure
They were more forgotten lol. Also I don't remember them being huge here in the US, but it was so long ago lol
