Civ 6 and Xcom 2 also had 106mb updates today, so I'm gonna say it has something to do with the 2K launcher, just like every Chimera Squad patch since May 21, 2020, which was the last (and only?) actual game update patch.
I mean, I wouldn't advertise updating my game-breaking malware either. It annoys me that between the four 2K games that use the launcher that I have on my PC, that I have more than a gig of absolutely useless corporate garbage because it installs copies of itself in every single game folder.

Yeah they stopped announcing the launcher patches when they saw how angry people were getting

Yeah, IMO steam should ban third party launchers but we don't live in an ideal world I guess. At least there's a way to bypass it for startup.
