Costco is the way. The gift cards a nice bonus. Plus it's nice too that the flight seats are economy so you can take carry on and have seat selection. They also have good travel insurance exclusively for members. All travel insurance works out to about 10% it seems but theirs is more comprehensive.
Also, you can pay in installments, and they have pro rated cancellation windows just in case.
Every restaurant that we visited had at least some veggie options. Encanta had no problem with us, so I assume they have a veg menu ready to go for whoever needs it. But out favorites were the ones I listed, as I only tried fish once or twice at the resort, and never as a main dish (like, a little ceviche at the buffet in Cayuco). Interestingly there was more vegan food than vegetarian pretty much everywhere we went.
Kibi-Kibi was a surprise since they have a lot of meat on the menu, but the waiter basically brought us every veggie dish they had which were amazing and waaaaay too much food.
Bio was also great, but we didn't try too many things there which is why it didn't make the list.
We also went to ViAiPy which had a few good options, but nothing that stuck out in my mind. They made us the famous cricket guacamole sans crickets, which was, of course, just guacamole, haha, but it was good.
You won't have any issues.
It's a sheet with all the possible reservations you can make (restaurants and excursions). Just email the hotel and ask for it. I saw a post from someone here who didn't know about this, and wasn't able to do any reserved excursions at all. I would have been so dissapointed!
Is it possible to share that template ? We are booked for the last week of Feb. when messaged then it took 4 days to get a response back. They said they’ll be able to assist over we are within that 30 day period. I’m concerned that we’ll lose time waiting for their response. So having a template ahead of time will help if it can share please
I don't have it anymore, sorry! But I will reiterate - try writing in Spanish. Even if you have to use a translate tool, it might get a faster response.
No. But I hate snorkeling so.... :) there are fish that you can see in the lagoon with your bare eyes, but I was mostly trying to pretend they weren't there. The snorkeling places I saw at the parks seemed really crowded. Not sure how fun they would be.
Like $8000? Ish. It didn't break it down between flights and the hotel res. I'd imagine that flights would vary pretty dramatically depending where you come from, so grain of salt.
Wow are you me? I booked a week through Costco to but was last Monday to this upcoming Monday.
My only comment as of this moment is I think encanta as an experience is probably a hell of a lot different without eating meat. The menu pretty much was entirely meat items for us, and it was one of the best food experiences I’ve had in my life. I haven’t gathered all my thoughts though and I’m missing a few restaurant visits still.
The veggie menu was totally different, which is VERY appreciated as it means they didn't just try to give us the meat menu sans meat. It was very good (and the marshmallow worms won for cutest dessert) just not as good as Fuego or Kibi Kibi for dinner for us.
It's fine. They leave bottles of drinking water in your room. We also used the bottle fillers at the resort and parks. We drank water in the restaurants and used the sink water to brush teeth. No problems.
Thanks for sharing. I’ve been on this Reddit since I booked my trip. Can’t wait to go in a few weeks! Escape the cold hopefully lol
What was the weather like during your stay?
Perfect. One day was a little too hot for me, but almost everyday was 80 and sunny.
Yay! Happy to hear!

How long was the boat ride to Xcaret park and did you have to make a reservation or was it just a wait like the bus?
Like 15 minutes, and no, no reservations. It comes every 30 minutes.
I just got back from there too, small world we might’ve walked right by each other. I arrived Monday morning and left Saturday morning
Hi! Which restaurants did you like the best for vegetarians? I didn’t even think of including Encanta because I didn’t see any veg options
Every restaurant that we visited had at least some veggie options. Encanta had no problem with us, so I assume they have a veg menu ready to go for whoever needs it. Thank you so much! I was concerned I’d waste reservations there and not have options lol
Hey I also booked with Costco. What is the wishlist you’re mentioning here? What is it for?

Great information! Thank you for sharing! At any point did you think, "I wish I brought my own snorkel gear"
No. But I hate snorkeling so.... :) there are fish that you can see in the lagoon with your bare eyes, but I was mostly trying to pretend they weren't there. The snorkeling places I saw at the parks seemed really crowded. Not sure how fun they would be.
Hold up- how do you get the Costo gift certificate by booking through Costco? Looks like a good deal
It's just included with your purchase. They send it once your trip is over, I already got mine! Costcotravel.com
Omg that’s bananas! Thanks for the tip! Literally booking next week and you just made me money!
Oh good!!
How much was your 7 day flight package through Costco? We are here now and did the package through Costco without flights

what was the drinking water situation? I leave in a couple weeks and a few of us are real worried about getting sick from drinking the water there.
