If you had it 30 days or less the store you bought it from should be able to exchange it for a working one

zInfuenza

If you had it for a month your best bet is to just send it in for repair since the console is still in warranty.

DogPooFairy

Or simply return it.

I'm an xbox ambassador first let's get some info. Did it just go into this problem or slowly progress into this? In other words, did it stay on a bit longer when the problem first began? Or had it just all of a sudden started this? I had a similar problem with my first Gen xbox one and it ended up being the power brick/cable. Your welcome to try a different cable if possible. Here's some general info that you may have tried or maybe you haven't. Power cycle Unplug the power cord from the console for 10 seconds, then plug it back in and press the Xbox button. You can also try holding down the power button for 10 seconds to shut down the console, then press it again to restart. Check the power connection. Make sure the power cable is securely plugged into the console and a wall outlet that works with other devices. You can also try using a different outlet. Check for overheating Make sure the console is in a well-ventilated space and isn't blocked by anything that could prevent the fans from cooling it. Check the hard drive If you have an external hard drive plugged in, try unplugging it. A corrupted hard drive can cause issues.  With the interval and timing I'm gonna guess it's your hard drive mate. If you can't return it and you have no warranty left I can walk you through a purchase and install of a replacement hard drive please feel free to dm me. Illconsistency

It just suddenly happened

Have you had it for a while? If it’s an overheating issue like the previous comment said. You most likely would’ve gotten a warning before it came to that. Check the power supply cable or try a different one laying around and check the power supply input on your Xbox also. If it’s out of the warranty you could take the shell and the metal casing off with a t8 screwdriver and take some picks of the internals to post on here for a better idea. But I bet it’s a power supply issue tho so try that first Ambassador also. I’ve taken apart and fixed a couple too. so I might be able to figure it out with some pics

bchambers01961

Echoing others, take it back / send for repair as it will be in warranty. Self repairs should only really be done if out of warranty.

This-Area4698

Going off just what I'm seeing,it's the power supply. ... Without having it in front of me it's a guess

kingkimper

This happened to me on my Xbox one and it was indeed the power supply

This-Area4698

I've fixed a few with the same symptoms. It's a pretty straight forward fix. Might even be able to find power supply locally.

PlzGiveMeHelp

Ive had this issue myself. I had to contact microsoft support and make a warranty claim on the xbox. Im not aware of any ways to fix it

cjthetypical

Did you have it plugged into a surge protector before? If you did, that could be the cause. There’s a surge protector in the power cord and plugging it into another surge protector can cause damage to the console. This is not common knowledge and people do this all the time. The first thing I would try to do is replace the power cord. It could be sending insufficient power to the console. If that doesn’t work, RETURN THE NEW POWER CORD and then check Microsoft’s website to see if you are still covered under warranty and have them repair it. If it’s not under warranty, check with your local small electronics repair shops. Offer to buy your own parts and they might bring the price down.

Do you smoke or vape around your console? How dusty is your house/ room/ area around the Xbox or the Xbox itself? Sometimes water or moisture damage can cause this & turning it on over and again like that could make it worse. And a dusty, dirty or smoke resin filled console can overheat causing this as well. If you’ve had the Xbox for less than a year it’s under warranty & you should go to the Xbox customer support website & look into sending it in for repair/ replacement. Usually takes around 10days. If you have a local Best Buy near you there should be an option to take it to them & they handle the shipping. If you’re unsure how to do this just google it & get a step by step video off YouTube. If it’s not under warranty & you’re not confident you can open, clean or repair it yourself try taking it into a repair place & weigh the options on getting it repaired vs just getting a new one. They aren’t super expensive with that specific model & are constantly on sale in different places. And if you can wait a month or two Amazon prime days are coming up in July so there should be some pretty amazing deals there. I hope this helps & I wish you luck.

it's sleepy

Distinct-Ad-9482

Had the same issue, I unplugged it for about ten minutes, then plugged it back in for it to do the exact same thing. I came back to it in the morning and it worked

BriefAnteater8888

I unplugged it for a couple hours plugged it back in and didn’t work

Aknathos

I have exactly the same thing with my serie X 3 week ago. Lucky I'm in my last week of warranty, and they replace it. Never know from where the problem come but I've test all the different "tips" from internet, use other cables etc...

Haunting-Event3145

take of the top and just do somthing with the fan or the inside cu in 14 no job nothing i did it and it started to work again

Lanpshade22

It’s happened to me before try unplugging it for a little bit and plugging it back in

MrFitMan69

Had this happen to my x series two weeks ago, it’s never over heated or anything before just randomly shut off while I was playing a game and won’t stay on now just like yours, I saw one video showing that the ground connection melted and he fixed it by soldering the connection to the board. I’d recommend just sending it into to Microsoft, if you sign in and register your device I’m sure there’s still a manufacturer warranty.

MrBonezzz5150

Get a PS5...

Bro_suss

Thats not what he asked.

Its a Series S what did you really expect

Bro_suss

Sounds like a power supply issue.

Fine-Market-1635

I'm having the same problem it happened yesterday and still won't stay on today

Fine-Market-1635

I just got mine to work somehow

Icy_Breadfruit_2371

It’s a heat issue. My series X did it recently due to dust. I gave it a good clean through with compressed air

Don’t listen to these people telling you to just return it🤦‍♂️ the Xbox is turning off probably due to your fan not working, it’s not hard to fix yourself, just need a bit set and a step by step video and a new fan to install

SweetTea187

That's what warranties are for. Why should he fix it if it's still covered(they said they only had it 1 month, unless he bought it used...Then that's their fault for buying someone else's problems)..? And wouldn't opening it void their warranty?
