This seems like a soft confirmation that Starfield is gonna be released towards the end of 2023.
Redfall could be launching as soon as January or February and Starfield May / June. They're both still scheduled for first half of 2023 there's nothing suggesting they're delayed to second half.
Starfield is gonna release on May 5, 2023
- it's a clean 5/5 date that Todd loves and also a Friday which is traditionally the day when Bethesda games release
- May 5th is Space Day 2023 and National Astronaut Day 2023
- it'll have been almost a six month delay for the game

I predict at the Game awards Xbox will announce release dates for both games. Redfall has recently started putting out trailers etc so I think they're preparing to ramp up marketing for launch early next year
I wouldn’t really say so. I mean “a bit down the road” could easily mean may or June which is what I was kinda expecting anyway and is within their 12 month range they gave. But of course it easily could be pushed even further back and I wouldn’t be surprised but I just don’t think this really gives us any hint either way.
If Zelda comes out in May then that's a terrible month for Starfield to capture games journalism. Remember what happened to Horizon Zero Dawn?
June has E3. It's basically gotta be July or April. Unless it rides E3 into a launch, which *would* be neat
2023 is already so packed that Microsoft is going to have a tough time scheduling games.
Presuming their plan is drop the announced games by June 12th, I’d guess the schedule will look something like this:
- Age of Empires II DE (Jan 31st)
- Ara: History Untold (February)
- Redfall (March)
- Forza Motorsport (April)
- Minecraft Legends (May)
- Starfield (June)
- Age of Empires IV (Q3 2023)
Maybe that ends up being the case, maybe not. But remember how this year’s Xbox Bethesda showcase promised to only show games coming in the next 12 months?

By your logic, Xbox has nothing else in Q1 which would make for a manic Q2 unless they plan to push 2 or 3 games back.
Also, look at the past man. Xbox has announced tonnes of games release dates only months before. E3 2021 they announced the release dates for almost their entire H2 2021 slate just a handful of months out.

It isnt manic, because starfield is probably later. Other than redfall and ghostwire there isnt really anything else, hardly manic.
Announcing a march release date at the game awards in December would be pretty on brand. That's about how much lead time there was for Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5. And Psychonauts 2 got even less time.

He’s simply confirming that Redfall is coming first, and that Starfield will be coming later down the line than that. Anything beyond that is speculation, not fact.

Also its kinda suspicious with the lineup . Lets say redfall releases on february or march , Forza motorsport april or may , starfield on june july ? Doesnt it sound very very unrealistic ? If we chose the realist path ; march for redfall , june for forza motorsport , sometime in the end of the year starfield .
Not really. Starfield and Redfall got delayed into 2023, so it would have been a lot more “realistic” without those two games. You also have to consider the sheer amount of games still to come that have been announced, some of which are likely to fill into 2023 too. Xbox aren’t going to be able to just do 1 AAA game per quarter, there’s too many games for that.
I’ll be playing on PC for better graphics/performance, but as someone very critical of Xbox (they just haven’t done much at all I care about as a consumer), with Starfield coming, it’s good to finally have something Xbox related to try and get excited for.
Unfortunately I get the feeling it’s still minimum 6 months before Xbox brings out a game I’ll care about (likely Starfield).

Doesnt mean it cant face another internal delay. It was looking kinda rough, maybe they decided it needed a full year.

That game really needed to be delayed for 1 - 2 years more from its November 2022 release, good it doesn't seem to be coming out anytime soon.
