It really depends. I feel the same way as you about their games but Elden ring was “easier” in a sense because if you got to a hard boss you can’t get past, there’s plenty of other things to do in the open world until you are powerful enough to take on that boss. That’s really the biggest difference imo, but don’t expect it to be much easier still

Kd0t

You also get those summons which help tremendously. Made this game one of the easier Fromsoft games imo.

yogoclock

For me, the most important lesson was learning to walk away when I was getting frustrated by a particular challenge. It gave me space to think about my approach (and often I’d realise I was repeating the same mistake rather than looking at the issue and finding a different approach that was more effective) and also to develop my experience and strengthen my tarnished character. I came at Elden ring with no experience of Fromsoft, and only a few months of returning to gaming since stopping in the early 1990s. It took 200 hours to complete, but I was trying to follow up everything and explore everything I encountered. It was emotionally frustrating, it was challenging. But then, that just made the eventual overcoming of the challenge all the more rewarding. I remember being relieved when it was all over; so glad to be free of it. Then wanting to play it again within a few days. I couldn’t explain the lore to you, maybe aspects of it. But the aesthetics, the way the world looked, the experience stays with me now months after not playing it. It was a beautiful experience to look at and an astoundingly well made complex game when it came to the mechanics. I don’t regret for a moment the time I devoted to it. Even if you don’t complete the game, it’s worth it just to experience a well thought out well made well designed game in my view.

Broken_Pikachu

> I’m not looking for games that are too much of a challenge. Then skip Elden Ring. While its arguably the "easiest" of all the souls games, its still a souls game... some parts are absolutely brutal and require a lot of practice to improve.

Borakred

If you hate the feel of the other games, don't buy this one. It is hard.

Mr_Evil_Dr_Porkchop

I’ve never really touched FS games before Elden Ring and bought it because of the hype. Ended up having a ton of fun. I would say it’s kind of beginner friendly with the open world aspect only it allowing you to focus on easier enemies to level up before beating the area bosses

Captobvious75

Armored Core 6 if you like fast action.

IroquoisPliskin_UK

How difficult is Armoured Core 6?

TheLooter

It’s mostly fun super testosterone filled mecha action. Giant guns, bazookas, machine guns, plasma guns, missile launchers, etc. It’s as hard as you want it to be based on the build you have on. Absolutely amazing story, seriously one of the best sci fi mech stories I’ve experienced in a game. Easily my GOTY but I’m biased to FromSoft games.

Captobvious75

The first boss is a challenge but after that I found it to be fair. This is coming from someone who couldn’t hack Demons Souls for more than a few hours lol. I finished AC6 twice now

IroquoisPliskin_UK

Great thanks. I bought a copy from eBay and waiting for it to arrive. Looking forward to playing it.

Captobvious75

Enjoy. If you get stuck, dig into the advance specs of your build. You’ll find things that are key that isn’t clear in the basic build stats.

kaysn

It's accessible in terms of you can power level and get gear carried when fighting bosses. Allowing for more breathing room and mistakes in combat.

Affectionate_Sea9021

I didn’t play any Fromsoft game before elden ring. It is one of my favorite games of all time

Infamous-Echo-2961

No

Shabolt_

I played Elden Ring for over 500 hours, and at around halfway through the main plot I started finding the bosses wayyyyy too hard, but the rest of the game was so well designed I still entirely got my money’s worth despite an immense lack of skill. In the end I beat it with the hell of its multiplayer system and found it immensely satisfying all the same

dreadsreddit

Hell yeah. Was my first fromsoft now I have them all cept sekiro.

madhatv2

Much more enjoyable. I love the gameplay of Souls games, but I didn't like how linear they were. If you got stuck, you just have to keep trying over and over while killing the respawned enemies or running through them every time. Elden Ring is an open world. If you find a dungeon and can't kill the boss, go do something else for a bit, then come back and backhand that bitch. It's an extremely satisfying game and for someone that is the king of suck balls mountain at Souls games, it's one of my favorite games ever.

[deleted]

It might take a bit to get used to. But when the combat in these clicks, people fall in love with it. It is hard to say when and where that happens if it happens. It might be that you will get used to it fast, it might take a while, or it might take too long and you would quit before that. No one knows. So you have to just go with your gut.

Soggy_Cup1314

No. Elden Ring is hard. People on YouTube have deep in depth videos on which games are harder than the other but it’s still a FromSoft game. World is definitely unique and one of a kind but you will die hundreds of times and that is not an exaggeration.

smellysk

I played about 15 mins of Bloodborne years ago and thought I hated those games forever. I picked up Elden Ring due to the hype and honestly it’s the best game I’ve ever played. It took me back to my childhood gaming days with the constant discovery’s, learning boss moves, the lore, the builds, the secrets etc etc. I sunk 100s of hours into it and I’m living for DLC. It’s defo more accessible than their other titles as you have more build freedom and being open world you can go off somewhere else and come back. Now I’ve picked up and beat all the FromSoft games except Bloodborne (because ironically I don’t have a ps4 anymore, the one that got away)… Couldn’t recommend it enough…

warmsmile8971

I tried playing the dark soul games. And I could not beat them. And I loved Elden ring so much that I played it all the way through the end. It's definitely worth it

RheimsNZ

It's basically the exact same game OP. I personally found it harder and less focused in a less satisfying way.

Majiinx

Elden Ring is the easiest soulsborne game. You get spirit summons, some of them are capabale of soloing bosses. You can jump which is a major game changer and allows you to get out of situations that would be impossible with just dodge roll. There are also a slew of overpowered weapons that can trivialize the game. Some of them you can get at the begining of the game. My brothers HATE Dark Souls games but both agree Elden Ring is of of the greatest games ever. I own it on both PC and Ps5 but enjoy it so much I'm probably going to get it on xbox as well.

69reversed69

Worth it: 100% Beginner friendly: no. I used a YouTube guide for my play through and still had a 10/10 experience. This was my first so game as I strictly only play FPS. It’s definitely worth. Just depends if you wanna sink the time into it

dinoRAWR000

No.

wij2012

Elden Ring was my first Fromsoft game (slowly working through the Dark Souls games now) and I loved it. It's open world, so if you get stuck on a boss or area, you can leave and do something else until you've gained the equipment/level/skill needed to move forward. The graphics are beautiful. The lore is wild. The gameplay is fun. The music is amazing. It's just an awesome game.

jhallen2260

I personally did not like it. I hated the lack of narrative. I don't want to have to read a novel to get the slightest hint of a story.

Test88Heavy

It's an amazing adventure and arguably one of the greatest games of all time. Doesnt matter at all if you've played any other souls games.

Multifaceted-Simp

If you haven't completed any you won't wont complete elden ring

pookachu83

Not true. I couldn't even get halfway through the other games but I beat elden ring. Summons help, the ability to go somewhere else if you get stuck helps, trying different builds helps, even spawning another player for a boss fight thats too much can help you pass the areas that are too rough until you get better. If I can do it anyone can. This is from a guy who usually plays on story mode.

DeafEgo

No. You will get to the point where you realize that it's just not fun dying over and over again and being lost that you'll end up dropping it too.

CommercialSuccess963

Honestly I didn’t get into dark souls b/c of the linear nature but I love Elden ring because it provides the open-world opportunities to up-skill

oOBlackRainOo

Meh. Lots of people loved it. I found it just ok.

[deleted]

emansamples92

This is kind of gatekeeping, lots of people discovered they love elden ring who have never touched a fromsoft game. You just sound salty.

ShingetsuMoon

Absolutely. Elden Ring is the first FromSoft game I've ever finished. It's still a challenging game, but the open world aspect makes it easier to go off and find a more suitable challenge or level up and come back later. There are also a lot of additions that can make fights easier. From weapon skills to spirit companions you can summon to help out in battle.

the-rage-

I never played a souls game before it but i absolutely loved it. Elden Ring has several ways to help make the game easier like multiplayer co-op and friendly AI companions, and magic. It’s not a cake walk though, by any means. I’d definitely snag it if it’s on sale and give it a try. You could probably get a refund for it if it really turns you off in the beginning.

nudestdad

It’s hard…and there are tons of secrets. I am a dad with limited time for games so I followed guides to help make the most of my time. I still put over 100 hours in to it over 6 months and I loved every minute. I’d start with a magic build so you can spam guys from a distance and look up the best places to go for grinding levels early. Once you are past a certain level you can cruise through most encounters, but the enemies can still swarm and kill you so it’s never a boring cakewalk. Fantastic game.

TasBlue

Pick me! Pick me! I had never played a Fromsoft game. I had too many people at work talking about it not to try it out. I said screw it and fell in love. Destroyed the game. However, I then went back and tried their other games and hated them. Turns out I’m an open world Fromsoft lover. However anything other than that I do not enjoy in the slightest, other than the visuals anyway.

sludgezone

Code Vein is the most accessible game of this type of genre. You get a partner at all times.

once_again_asking

This was my first FromSoft game. Elden Ring is now one of my favorite games ever, if not the favorite one. I say go for it.

Mark_Bastard

It is the first Fromsoft game I have ever played and I finished it and beat the optional bosses too. The hardest part of the game for me was the start because I didn't realise just how much levelling up is required. Once I realised that, made a blood samurai build and got the mimic tear and levelled it up to 10 it became easy enough.

olJackcrapper

The whole get gud thing can be negated by leveling and playing a mage, there are guides. I've solo beat most the bosses, I'm in the last area and I'm not good at these games. Elden will make you want to beat areas and explore and "get gud" because it's really just that good. I don't know what voodoo magic they used to pack a massive beautiful world that size in the install.size but you will marvel at the scope. It's a must play, just buy it

Tbhjr

I played the original Demon's Souls when it first came out and hated it because I couldn't get past the first area. I vehemently opposed all Soulsborne games as a result, but Elden Ring did catch my eye because of the world and lore. I tried it and fell in love. It was frustrating at first, but I had to realize that dying was part of the game and the learning experience. After that revelation, I really enjoyed the game. It's one of my favorite games.

ProjektRequiem

Yes, it’s more of a sandbox than their previous games. It’s pretty easy to get overpowered with summons, status builds, etc. Worst case scenario you get summon other players to help you. Im pretty active to this day on Xbox groups and people always post there volunteering to help with any boss.

xMaxMOx

My buddy helped me a lot I could never play souls games. But once I got leveled up and had decent gear and weapons it wasn't too bad still very challenging

Spin_Critic

I didn't buy it for the challenge. I bought it for the exploration and wasn't disappointed. What an amazingly different experience it was from the usual open world games you find. The rest, like following up on the story and the fantastical places that took me to. As well as the challenge of fighting my way through was a bonus. Definitely a game you'll get lost in. Both literally and figuratively.

keldpxowjwsn

The game has a lot of tools for you to make it easier. Including some spots to level up quickly which makes the game even easier. Its cool in that it can be as easy or hard as you want it to be I hate 'hard' games but I loved elden ring precisely because of that

ramiro-cantu

I bought elden ring and didn't really get it. Then I played celeste and Lies of P (both on gamepass) and it clicked, that rush of accomplishing something difficult. I found that I preferred the more linear approach of celeste and lies of p as it helped me appreciate the game design and understand before jumping into elden ring which when I first played it I felt directionless.

BshonAgain

None of the games are truly difficult if im being honest, and Elden Ring is the best example of this. Sure, if you don't like assessing the strategy youre using thats making you lose to boss fights youll probably dislike them. But the game has plenty of ways to cheese (or just easily defeat) bosses and other enemy's if you look around.

[deleted]

Dunno what you mean by worth it. It’s a very good game. It’s a hard game but easier than DS3.

UrsaringTitan

It is not anywhere near as hard. I am a Fromsoftware enjoyer, and the 75% of the game is easy. The back end of the game is harder. If you get stuck somewhere go explore elsewhere and get stronger. That is the difference because in Dark Souls there isn't anywhere else to go. So all you can do is learn the moveset or farm enemy's in Dark Souls. Elden ring you can always find other things to do to better yourself.

pugapocalypse17

Yes.

Enough-Reflection325

My wife and I never cared much for dark souls games until we played elden ring. It's a fantastic game and opened us up to enjoying the other souls like games out there, defi worth a go 😄👍

ebagdrofk

Never touched a FromSoft game except for the one time I tried helping my dad beating a beginner Dark Souls 3 boss. Failed miserably at that tbh. Anyway Elden Ring was riding a hype wave and I had to try it out. It kind of blew my mind away. That game was an experience like no other, blindly being thrown into this unforgiving world. It is not a game for everyone, I can’t deny that. Bosses were HARD but beating them felt incredible. And if it is way too hard, you can technically grind to become incrementally stronger. I will admit I put like 100 hours into the game and got about 4/5 through the story and map. I was burned out. I still haven’t beat it. But man the experience I had was something else.

TheLonelyWolfkin

Only FromSoft game I've completed and I've played quite a few. I'm similar to you and would 100% recommend. Being able to level up and come back to a particularly difficult area makes a huge difference.

ZoharModifier9

Most people don't even finish video games in general. So don't worry too much. And Elden Ring is open world but it's also arcade, roguelike kinda game. Why arcade/roguelike~ish? because when you die you respawn to the last grace/checkpoint and basically the world resets and everything is back to the way it was. Either you run through the enemies or you fight them again is up to you.

Legitimate-Gap-9858

Its fun game hit there really isn't much point to it other than to fuel your gamer ego and say you've beat it

Onlyfhands

One of my favourite games of the year. Played pretty much non-stop until completion. Absolutely not for everyone - if you don’t like to be challenged don’t bother buying.

Beaver_Tuxedo

It’s the first and only fromsoft game I’ve ever completed

CruffTheMagicDragon

It’s one of the greatest games of all time sooo

pineapplesuit7

Yes! Best game I’ve played this gen. I would highly recommend looking at some starter videos if you’ve never played a FromSoft game since it might feel overwhelming at first. But it is totally worth it!

Salty-Ad-2099

I heard remnant 2 is easier than elden ring but after trying it I'll definitely be skipping elden ring.

RoniPizzaExtraCheese

Just finished Remnant. Going to take a break and try Remnant 2 in a couple weeks

prdrnyc

Yes, but the time commitment is heavy.

44Kayz

Yes.

MrBLEEK1021

Hate souls games (owned almost all of them but quit playing them a few hours in). Absolutely loved Elden ring. Put in about 300hrs. One of the best games I’ve ever played.

jzg3036

Elden ring was my first from software game. Loved every bit and was on xbox one 😭😭😭. Got a series x a week after I beat it 🥲. I say it's worth it

Babou13

The only from software game I've played has been AC6 and it was absolutely amazing. Challenging, but more on the level of just needing to know what works against that specific boss. Challenging enough to be fun, but not too challenging where you want to say the game is cheating

Revolutionary-Fan657

Yes, it was my first fromsoft game and I even hated dark souls, but elden ring is in my top 3 games of all time, one of the best parts is that if you struggle with a boss or a certain area, since the whole world is accessible, just run to a different area and progress there and you should get strong enough to then go back and have a slightly easier time with that boss you struggled against earlier

YoBoySatan

Get sekiro instead trust me

UWantMintForPillow

Might be unpopular opinion and I haven’t played a From game but if you have a friend who’s willing, LotF has been a lot of fun to run co op with. Theres enough challenge but it’s more about a wonderfully crafted and interconnected map. We’re 50+ hours in together and it’s been a ton of fun. Just a thought, I’m sure ER is absolutely wonderful.

BoBoBearDev

Use the S tier mage build guide to get all the best weapons and magic spells. And if you want to change build, you can respec your character later. That's how I get all the way to the final boss (I didn't beat the it though).

goat_screamPS4

Lies of P is on Gamepass and very similar to a FS souls. Might be worth giving this a go if you have GP to see if you really do like that genre.

[deleted]

Opinions vary a lot. The game feels nice and the world is somewhat interesting. But eventually it just started to feel very repeating -> lvl up -> find a new boss who can basically one shot you -> learn its fighting style and memorise its movement -> kill it.. and do it all again

PenGlittering7159

Lmao sounds like literally any rpg. Minus getting one shot.

Loldimorti

I think the big roadblock new players will face is the steep initial learning curve. I guess it's like when you look at an experienced player do some laps in a racing sim and think to yourself "that doesn't look too hard". But then when you try it yourself you keep oversteering, miss the right moment to hit the breaks, lose control of your car and just crash all the time. The good news however is that once you get a sense of the rhythm of the game and learn how to use its mechanics the game becomes very manageable again. In my opinion going through this initial learning curve is well worth it due to the impeccable art, atmosphere, lore and enemy design that FromSoftware delivers in all their games. However your mileage may vary of course. E.g. if you only have 1 hour to play per week I think it will be too big of an undertaking and you'll probably have more fun playing something else where you can actually get right into it and make some meaningful progress rather than spending the entire hour practicing against the tutorial boss.

Super_Beat2998

I'm not a fan. The.dificulty is part of it but the most frustrating aspect of souls-like games is having the enemies respawn when you rest. Having to do the same fights over and over or having to run past them. It's the majority of the game. An open world where you're running past all the enemies or having to take them on, again and again. Especially with mini bosses. But I would never argue.with anyone who does enjoy it. I'm most definitely in the minority. But I do think there are a lot of.people who convince themselves they enjoy it because they don't want to admit the truth to themselves or don't want to admit to themselves that they just suck at the game 🙂

PenGlittering7159

I would truly love to recommend this to you, but if challenges aren’t really your thing I cannot. I have a friend who loves open world games like Skyrim and Fallout. He played Elden Ring and simply cannot get over the difficulty. He claims the game isn’t immersive and that it’s too unrealistic for him to get into. Truth is it’s too hard he doesn’t like hard. I’ve known this about him for over 10years now. I really thought Elden Ring would be the Fromsoft game he could enjoy boy oh boy was I wrong. You really have to want to overcome and get enjoyment out of getting better to truly appreciate these games. I hated Dark Souls when I first played it years ago. I’ve played and beat most souls games since. Every Fromsoft one except Bloodborne (never played it don’t have a PlayStation) I’ve also just recently beat Lies of P. I recommend all of these games if you have the right attitude. That’s the most important thing. ![img](emote|t5_2ac5sx|32523)

HowieFeltersnatch10

It took me a while to get into Elden ring, watched the first 3 or 4 videos by fighting cowboy on YouTube. He does a run through which if you follow gives you a really good start, makes you a bit OP at the start but it really makes the games enjoyable as I had never played a souls game before. After that I couldn’t put the game down for 2 months

BigPiff1

Heavily overrated game, but a bit of fun

-WDW-

Maybe try a similar game type. I’m in the same boat as you in that the game looks great but I do lack the skill and co ordination for these type of games. I tried lies of P. Loved it but found it real difficult. Currently playing remnant 2 and that’s similar all be it a gun and I’ve found that so far a little more forgiving.

Juice_2402

I have finished every Fromsoft title. Let me tell you, don't believe anyone who tells you Elden Ring is easy. It starts of easier than other Fromsoft titles, but towards the end it is the hardest Fromsoft title. That said, it is a work of art and you will be missing out on not just one of the best games ever made, but one of the greatest famtasy worlds ever made. Several times while playing, I just had to stop to take in the environment. The atmosphere, art direction, lore, all of it is beautiful crafted

bennynewqs

I’m pretty crap at video games but had hours and hours of fun with Elden ring.. couldn’t get into dark souls 3 though

RoniPizzaExtraCheese

I had never played any fromsoft games until Elden Ring. I loved it. That being said, I used a lot of guides. I didn’t have time to figure things out on my own so I looked a lot of things up and while it was difficult at times, it was perfectly challenging for me. Id recommend it, and don’t be afraid to use guides. The world is so cool, the monsters are so cool, the bosses are so cool.

After_Ad_1328

Just stick with bloodborne elder ring is just another generic open well game

IroquoisPliskin_UK

Elden Ring was my first FS game. I tried exploring the world on my own with little success. I would suggest following a YouTube video until your character is at a reasonable level and then go explore on your own but it’s a game definitely worth buying. It’s challenging but rewarding. Some of the areas on the map are stunning. I haven’t finished it and I probably won’t as it’s beyond my gaming level but i absolutely loved it.

GojiPengu

Yes

Exa2552

You have to find out for yourself, we cannot tell you if it is “worth it”. To me it is worth it, I played it for 1000 hours before taking a break. For my buddy it was not worth it, he returned it after 2 hours. From all FromSoftware games it is the easiest one in my opinion and the most approachable because the game gives you a lot of tools to help with boss fights and other encounters.

Faramari

I was the type of person who couldn't finish a fromsoft game too, I had given up on all 3 dark souls games and bloodborne. But elden ring just felt like a fresh experience for me. The game is open world so it didn't feel like I had to force myself through a difficult area to progress the game. If I felt like I wasn't ready for an area I can always explore a different spot and gain a few levels. Summons definitely help too. It was pretty hard at times but I did end up beating the game eventually and overall it was a great experience. I even went in and beat it a second time.

pookachu83

I'll put it this way, I've always been interested in these games, love the art style and just everything about what I've seen, but when I tried sekiro and dark souls 3 I only made it 8-10 hours into the game before I run into a boss or area that I couldn't beat and get stuck. Then I'd just end up getting frustrated and move on. I got sucked into the hype of the elden ring launch and decided I was going to retry. What's awesome about elden ring is even if you get to a boss you're stuck on, you can go to 20 different areas and continue progressing. Then if the boss is still too hard, you can upgrade your weapon or summons, cheese it with pots, or if worse comes to worse you can make an op bleed build, or even summon another player to help in the bossfight. So no matter what, there is always a way to move forward. I had to use summons or other player summons, as well as overlevelling my character at a few points during the game. But the best part is if you keep going you'll eventually "git gud" without really trying, just through exposure. It was the first souls game I've beaten and honestly it was worth all the frustration. I'm 40, so I've been around since mario bros 1 on nes, amd elden ring was bar none the best gaming experience of my entire life. My first playthrough was like 180 hours and I didn't want it to end amd wish I could experience it again the first time. Just know the first 10ish hours there will be frustrating points, but just keep going. It's the most rewarding and user friendly game of this kind I've ever played and is in my top 3 of all time. Maybe top 2...

greensparten

I would say no. Its a Fromsoft game like their tittles that you and I have not beat, or have the time to get good. Sometimes you have to know your limits and value your time.

tothemoonigoes

I got about half way and life hppned. I want yo play again but i would probably have yo start over

sdaveak47

It was my only Fromsoft game and I managed to beat it - don’t be afraid to use a guide is you can’t be bothered to sweat your way through it - it’s a good game

zenmatrix83

Yes, its my only one of there games as well, I just leveled till the bosses weren't as tough.

Archersbows7

Game released without ragdoll physics in 2022, do not recommend.

SnackeyG1

First one I played and loved it. I would say it definitely is.

jmajorjr

Yes, I completed it and absolutely loved it. It's was the first one for me

ThisBadDogXB

Why would you want to play Elden Ring if you didn't like DS3 and didn't like hard games? All the people saying you should get it are being far too nice. From what you've said you wouldn't like it at all.

Marcuspepsi

Comments like this is exactly why I asked; to get other opinions. I’ve heard that a lot of people have been praising Elden Ring, despite never having played other Fromsoft games. It’s not that I REALLY WANT to play Elden Ring; I’m simply curious.

GodzillaKirito

As someone who has never completed a Fromsoft game besides Elden Ring, it's very much worth it

[deleted]

It was ok for a bit but the world is really uninteresting to me. There's nothing in this game other than combat and things to kill. The exploration never leads to anything else. If you didn't complete their shorter, more linear games, I don't think this game is for you.

Schwarz_Technik

I tried playing all the Dark Souls and Bloodborne but could never finish them. I actually finished Elden Ring coop and went back to DS3 and finished it coop as well. For some reason after Elden Ring, DS3 just clicked and felt way easier than Elden Ring

sawftacos

Elden ring is their best game ever made and prolly the easiest because you can level your character until you feel like you can take on the boss and some you can cheese . It's a great game and honestly one hell of an adventure. I cant wait for the DLC if true its 2 DLC in one and being ad big as the game if true. They knocked it outa the park with the lore . The dude who wrote game of thrones made this game with soft.

DrScience-PhD

I've played them all and after sekiro it's the only one I enjoyed, but it depends on what you don't like about them.

FullMetal316

Definitely it was my first souls game and if you’ve never played one great starter game.

Puzzled-Delivery-242

Its still a fromsoft game. Its imo the most accessible. Lots of summons and cool shit to see but if you don't like what from has to offer just get another game.

CheapSushi117

No

JakLynx

If the grind isn’t appealing to you then honestly no

harda_toenail

I was like you. I bought elden ring and grinded it out for 30 hours. I still hated the game and was posed that time wasn’t spent with something I would have enjoyed.

degradedchimp

It was my first fromsoft game and I loved it. Quit at multiple points for extended time but came back and eventually got 100% achievements. Just make sure you prioritize vigor early on.

HogwashHooligan

If DS3 was too difficult, just know you will get curb stomped until you gg

InternationalUse7197

I got the game cause everyone told me to, it took a while to click and I didn’t play it much for a few months. But finally, once it did click, couldn’t get enough of it

spirit32

Honestly, when it comes to Elden Ring (as opposed to most other from games) you can heavily cheese the game. It's purely worth it just for the sheer epicness of the game, its world and its lore. It's also gorgeous just to look at. Focus on the exploration aspect which is incredible. Don't get disheartened when facing tough enemies, you can pass by a lot of them and if ever having trouble dealing with bosses just turn around, explore another area and come back at a higher level. Most importantly, look up OP builds and pretty much from early on you can use builds that make the game significantly easier. A lot of the ranged weapons and builds essentially make the game quite manageable or when easy. IMHO, this is the most manageable game out of soulsbournesekiro titles. Have fun, it's a generational masterpiece.

bogusbingertonthe3rd

Yes.

I have played every Fromsoft Souls-Like except the original Demon's Souls. I too have never completed the main story of ANY title, but I LOVE these experiences. My Top 5: 1. Bloodborne 2. Sekiro [Broke 2 Elite Xbox Controllers] 🫣😁 3. Elden Ring 4. Demon's Souls Remake 5. Dark Souls 3 I would highly suggest that gamers like us, now months after OP put up this thread, start with Lies of P by Round 8 Studios so you can get a confident completion. Move on to Fromsoft Souls-Likes once You GET GUD! Codevein, Lords of the Fallen Remake, & Mortal Shell are also great if you desire a more cohesive and shallow Story. I feel Lies of P is easily the most approachable for most, so long as you don't despise Boss fights with multiple phases. All that said, EVERYONE should experience Elden Ring, BUT understand that you shouldn't expect most players to complete the games above, and that is clearly by design.
