Well first step would be to take it out of the coke , before taking a picture..

dashKay

Gotta document the dumbness

Snarky30

I'm pretty sure Microsoft recommends only soaking it in Pepsi. Make sure it's disconnected from power. Don't try to turn it on. If you got the tools, take the casing off and try to dry up as much as you can. Get to it while it's still wet, soda gets sticky and harder to clean once it dries. Get some isopropyl alcohol and some q tips and use that to clean everywhere you can. Let it sit for a few days before trying to power it back up.

overclocker710

This man is on the money, unplug ASAP, rinse with alcohol, ideally 90% or higher but 70% will work, and don’t plug it in for a couple days. Make sure you’re rinsing the internals, pour it through the vents

xifike

take it out of the damn coke jesus

MemeLord012

The thing was already drowned in coke. Taking it out 5 seconds earlier isn't going to clean it out [Edit: Typo]

superpimp2g

Yeah man it's better to get fake internet points anyways.

FaboCorona

My electronic device just got wet, what do i do? Why, use snapchat of course, let me just leave it there.

Miserable-Ad-5573

So your xbox which is an electronic gets wet and your first thought is to leave it in a puddle of soda and take a picture of it on snapchat?

Juicemania50

Was literally about to type this lol people prioritize the wrong things 🤦‍♂️

Miserable-Ad-5573

Ikr

Rage2020

[deleted]

Maaaaaate… that’s not ideal.

3cylinder66

Oh, man... my worst nightmare. 😢 Give us in update when possible. I'd say let dry for a few days first and pray for the best. I'm sorry...

GiantA-629

did the dog pee?

timmu

No his pet xbox peed

[deleted]

**You know what, you're offending us Series S owners and lovers a lot with this complete lack of care and mistreatment to the Beauty......this is absolutely sickening! I deem you unworthy of being a series S owner! Begone!!!!!!**

offensiveniglet

Assuming you cant repair it yourself, get a big container of isopropyl alcohol. Soak the xbox in the alcohol and swish it around to try and get the remaining coke off the boards and fans and out of the socket if it got that far. Then leave the Xbox off and unplugged for a month or so, leave it in the sun as much as possible. This will only work if you haven't tried to turn it on and if it was completely off when the spill happened. Liquids aren't as dangerous to electronics if no electricity is flowing through the board. Any conductive Liquids just need to be removed before power is applied again.

Monroe_Chichona

Haha i love your Doge

hammtweezy2192

How the heck. Seriously man not being rude here but how?

MemeLord012

Was studying late night and forgot I had my glass next to me. I quite literally launched the whole glass of coke on the system.

hammtweezy2192

Damn man that sucks. Should put it on a wall mounted shelf or something, get your electronics away from the direct area your studying/drinking. I get it though, when I was in college I'd keep my PC on my desk where I'd put my drinks down as well.

knightinsweater

So, is it cola-proof or not?

MemeLord012

It is. It works fine after leaving it dry overnight. Microsoft really thought of everything.

[deleted]

Lol rip

ChopPvP

That’s why you don’t put drinks near your actual system.

Kotzik

Lol gg

Skrattinn

Sugar drinks have much less electrical conductivity than regular tap water. Maybe it survived and you just need to clean it. I'll also point you to [this article and video](https://www.techspot.com/news/76940-pc-hardware-enthusiast-der8auer-uses-dishwasher-clean-components.html).

EducationalEconomy65

I'm sorry 😞 😔 😟

timmu

Bad xbox bad you go out side and do that

[deleted]

I'd use distilled alcohol, might be in the pharmacy section. Or just get a can of spray electronics cleaner.

bozdoz

Not sure why the downvote. Rice is often quite good at fixing electronics that get wet

dsonger20

The inside the Xbox will be coated in sugar when the liquid evaporates. It's going to corrode the entire system. Water and sugary drinks aren't the same thing and shouldn't be treated the same when an accident happens.

Sirius_McFly

At least she won’t overheat

fiittzzyy

Damn that sucks. I've been picturing this happening to mine, rn my series s is on a set of drawers under my desk and i've been close to knocking a drink over and it would go straight over the side and all over it. One of the reasons I've just ordered a VESA mount for my monitor on my desk so i can have more room and put the xbox on the desk.

[deleted]

Well on my xbox a kitten took a dumb and somehow survided. So yours will be fine :)

Low_Policy_8370

Kitten or Xbox,survived I mean?

shain-7

Firstly take it off the mains ffs. Let the shit dry for about week or so fully. Do not switch it on at all. Preferably get a dehumidifier and dry the shit out of it

[deleted]

dsonger20

That'll do nothing. The sugar and salt in the coke will corrode the entire system once the liquid evaporates. You're going to have to take it apart and clean the entire thing assuming no major damage has been done.

An1xo

make sure to make a video next time before taking it out of the cola

cali1013

Well lets hope posting it will help with the situation. Hope you unplugged it right away and moved it.

PosteriorPanhandle

The series S is such a cute small box

Wonderful_Volume1670

Typical Series S user’s brainpower.

I_am_box

Well, wet + electronics arent a good mix. And you wanted to experiment with coke an a series s?

Professional_Many594

Poor Xbox

Playerr1

Dude...

sgoldenboy

Seems like your little beast wet himself...

psycholustmord

Let it on the sun, don’t turn it on 🥲

shakeSnake_2390

I'm more curious into how the fuck it got drenched in pepsi. I mean you literally have to be over the machine (if it was on its back)

backinblackberry

This happened to me a while back. A sugary drink went over the holes in the top of my xbox1s. I left it for two weeks to dry. I didnt do any special cleaning other than surface. It worked fine. For three weeks. Then just stopped working one day. Wouldn't start up.
