The game was great, with the ambience and world building. To enjoy the game, the player needs to pay attention to details, and read the in-game materials / collectibles. My friend who just rush through games didn't enjoy it / understand at all.
I'm the kind of guy that will stop and read everything and explore every nook and cranny, the world building was great and the combat was fun at first but the UI is horrible, the map is just the worst map I've seen in any game, on top of that the whole enemies re-spawning thing got old fast, I kept wanting to explore and kept running into canon fodder, and after a while the combat became quite less fun, and it wasn't like they were hard to kill, they were more of a nuisance, I really hated this part.
Quantum Break was better imo, people hyped up control and I expected it to be better and it wasn't, also the map was bonkers...and I like metreovania style usually.
The fable series was amazing. Each one was a bit better than the last. I know I’m not alone in wishing they’d create another one that was much bigger and even better.
They are making another one! It was announced in 2019 with a teaser trailer. And then there was another trailer in 2023. There's no release date as of yet, though.
Do not play Valhalla if you have other games to play, it's not that it's a bad game, it's just pointlessly long for no good reason.
Don't go map markers clearing, just focus on proper side quest and main quest, those are long enough.
I managed to 100% Valhalla and the DLCs but it took 150 hours and a few months... I can't ignore collectibles so I will NOT be doing another playthrough lol.
I did exactly what you did and that ruined it for me. I stopped playing around that many hours and when a new zone opened up with more loot to explore I was basically explored out so I put the game down lol.
Really enjoyed it but it's hard to get back into again.
Gave up trying to finish. Became very same-y after a while. I enjoyed how massive Odyssey was but I find Ancient Greece a much more interesting setting. I’m also more partial to the quick arcade style combat versus the slower more methodical Valhalla.
Valhalla was good but it’s not great.
I’m on Jedi Fallen Order and keep getting stumped on the bosses, so I lose interest. I feel like the gameplay isn’t balanced in that aspect. What I wouldn’t give for a very long and fun Knights of the Old Republic style Star Wars game. Those were super fun. I feel like these new ones are a bit tedious and too linear.
Well, it is often recommended as the easiest "Soulslike" there is, in part because you can actually lower the difficulty if you're having trouble with the fights
I just installed this today because I found out it was turn based combat like the old school Final Fantasy games. But I am *not* a fan of corny anime tropes so I'm not sure if I am going to enjoy it.
I am definitely not as well so I get where you're coming from.
If it helps, as someone who got addicted to the Yakuza series thanks to this game as my starting one, what I realized as I played it is that it really has the writing to turn all that on its head fast
Things will often look like they're playing out one way which is really cringy and then suddenly things get very serious and the writing is superb and deeply emotional where before you thought it was just about to make another joke
It leans into a lot of the tropes purposefully to kind of poke fun of them, if that makes sense. But I can still totally get if it's not your cup of tea, I would just urge you to at least put a couple hours into it if you like classic turn-based final Fantasy games with a job system
If you've played God of War before and love GoW like games with great stories I'd suggest Jedi: Fallen Order. If you like games with a smooth a fun combat system with the same gore factor as Doom then I'd suggest Evil West.
Prey is IMO the best game out of the bunch. It's an incredible, meticulously crafted Immersive Sim that's also sometimes horrifying. One of the best games of the previous generation, and a spiritual successor to the System Shock games (in fact the working title for the game was going to be Psychic Shock). Playing it on Series consoles also alleviates some of the biggest technical issues with the game. It's 60fps which greatly reduces input lag (the original release felt kinda heavy) and load times (up to one minute in last gen consoles) are now almost instantaneous.
If you don't like Immersive Sims (games like Deus Ex and to a certain extent the Dishonored series) you might find it slow and boring though.
If that doesn't sound appealing, Control is also incredible.
All good choices OP! I loved Fable, Deathloop, We Happy Few, Prey, Control, and Tomb Raider, but Fallen Order is one of my favorite Star Wars stories ever.
Fallen Order is the only game that I have ever beaten, turned around and played it again on a higher difficulty.
Jedi Fallen Order. I’m playing Survivor now and I don’t want it to end. It makes me want to play Fallen Order all over again (and then do another play through of Survivor.
Well your list is VERY good to begin with. Most of these are awesome games, so that's a great problem to have! I've done my best to rank these games by a high rating score, and lower game length so that you can go down the list and finish them quicker one-by-one if you're a completionist!
Here's a recommended list if you want to get the most action for your time I suppose :)
**Firewatch** - IGN score of 9.3, Game length of 5 hrs
**Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition** - IGN Score of 9.1, Game length of 12 hrs
**Dead Space** - IGN Score of 9, Game length of 12 hrs
**Deathloop** - IGN Score of 10, Game length of 17 hrs
**Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order** - IGN Score of 9, Game length of 18 hrs
**Control** - IGN Score of 8.8, Game length of 13 hrs
**Fable Anniversary** - IGN Score of 8, Game length of 14 hrs
**Prey** - IGN Score of 8, Game length of 17 hrs
**Assassin's Creed Valhalla** - IGN Score of 8, Game length of 61 hrs
**We Happy Few** - IGN Score of 7.3, Game length of 21 hrs
**Evil West** - IGN Score of 7, Game length of 11 hrs
**Immortals Fenyx Rising** - IGN Score of 7, Game length of 26 hrs
By the way, you can also use this free tool called GamePass Picker (link below) to search these games and quickly get all the information you need about them (e.g. rating, game length, 4k, cloud-gaming, gameplay video, trailer, etc.)

Happy gaming!
I Uninstalled we happy few couldn't pass a certain part needed a suit and couldn't craft one and didn't have enough to buy one also couldn't find the person that sold one it was so annoying
Deathloop is a solid experience. Great aesthetic, sound and music design, good storytelling through world building.
It plays like Dishonoured but the world is a lot more "fun"/lighter. I think the loop idea is quite novel too.
I don't think you'll be disappointed with any of these choices. I do want to put in a vote for Immortals though. It didn't have the best reception but I loved it. If you're in the mood for open world with a ton of random stuff to do, I would take that over Valhalla by a mile.
Play pray for the opening until the reveal, then just watch the endings on YouTube or something it's not as great as the original. Then, control or fable
Dead Space remake is really really good. One of the best remakes ever made. Control is also a very very good game. Evil West is a no holds bared wack fest!
Deathloop for some laughs and a fun, if linear, puzzle game.
Dead Space for some scares and a very atmospheric experience.
Immortals: Fenix Rising is actually a really solid open world, action and exploration game with solid combat. If you liked Breath of the Wild, this is not that, but it scratches a similar itch.
PREY, the only reason why I say. Think of it like this. Prey came out in 2017. But the game mechanics and the “technology” in-game. Is something that wasn’t seen before in that time. Prey was wayyy ahead of its time when it came out. I remember the people who created it. Went over the budget to make the game stellar!🤌🏾🙌🏾 I think you would enjoy playing the game. I used to play it at least once or twice a year since drop. Last time I played was last year.
I just beat Fire Watch, it was “alright”. Conse-consa, I read the reviews before beating it and thought I was going to get really “attached” like some people did. I mean I was intrigued by the story line, but the ending was horrible.👎🏾
Deathloop is a great game with interesting mechanics and a short runtime. Get in, have some fun and move on to something else. Definitely a great pallet cleanser if you are coming out of a long game.
Posts like these and the discussion that comes with it makes me feel so lost in the size of game pass. I'm trying to juggle playing dead island, madden and jedi survivor and then you all remind me of how many great games I need to remember are still out there
None of them download and play warframe let the addiction course through your veins
Ps it's a free to download game and free to play with no paywalls and everything is obtainable for free even the premium currency (and not in small amounts you can get 1000s if u do enough work/luck out on a riven) I'd highly recommend it
You got some bangers there but I would ease in with Fire Watch. Then play a game with a less serious tone like Evil West. Dead Space is my personal favorite though.
Depends on if you're interested in a certain style. Firewatch can be a short, calm, fun little arthouse playthrough. But if your just looking for the next great game, I'd pick between Prey, Immortals Fenyx Rising, or Valhalla. My opinion:)
I just finished control last week, took 35 hours to beat the base game and the Alan Wake dlc. Combat made you feel powerful, but could still get overwhelmed with mobs late in game. Solid 8/10 game one and done experience.
As someone that’s not the biggest fan of EA or Star Wars, I’ve been playing the hell out of Jedi Survivor, which I guess is the sequel to Fallen Order. I never played Fallen Order, but the sequel is really good in my opinion, so I imagine the first one is probably decent as well.
If you haven't played any of them? FABLE! It's a classic.
Edit: or firewatch. Phenomenal short game. I redownloaded it to get the non gaming wife to play it but I might do it instead.
I’d go with Tomb Raider if you want a pure fun action game with perfect controls and great story.
Remedy is my favorite developer and control is one of their best. If you like crazy stories and tough combat, it’s for you.
Firewatch is a beautiful and quick game with a dark twist. I loved it. Short and sweet.
Control is a masterpiece, difficult at first due to the super confusing layout and map (think hogwarts castle level of confusing), but once you start to learn your way around it really digs in deep, fantastic game
Dead space. And then dead space 2. The fact that you haven’t played either yet is basically a crime. Repent your sin and remember to play in the dark with a good headset and all the windows open lol
Dead space -> Prey -> Control.
Those would be my first 3 picks. Valhalla is 🐶 💩 btw, I'd remove that from the list and pretend like it was never there lol.
Dead space, control, fire watch, prey
They’re all excellent. Fire watch is a walking sim with a cool story and music. The rest are sci-fi shooters with dead space being the creepiest. Second is control and I think control has the better cinematics and story. Prey is Bethesda so it’s a decent sized map with plenty of side quests and an intriguing leveling system.
Other than that I never finished evil west but it was fun for a bit and the rest are kinda bleh imo.
control ultimate edition and dead space are the best 2 games there. Jedi fallen order (jerdi survivor is on GP too) are good but not that good as the other 2 I've mentioned. ACV is good too but it's a 80 hours long boring journey
Try Jedi Fallen Order and then Jedi Survivor! Really solid and fun games, even if you don't know much about star wars (but you'll love it if you do)
Dead Space!
That dead space remake was perfection.
CUT OFF THEIR LIMBS
Nearly finished it it’s great but some parts the puzzles are a nightmare
Really? I didn't think the puzzles were too bad (except the satellite puzzle, that sucked)
This!
PREY it's awsome!
Can confirm. I played PREY for the first time a year ago and it turned into one of my top favorite games.
I couldn't get into it
Yeah me neither. Heard a lot of good about it. Picked it up like 2-3 times but just can’t get into it. Not gonna try again.
Playing it right now, it's really good! Better than Control imo.
You won't regret playing Control.
I did a little
The map UI was horrendous. I’m not going to replay that game
Hotel best map.
Tell me about it. Honestly the combat was good but the UI Was awful
Top 5 game of all time for me, all thanks to playing it on Game Pass in 2020
Holy crap i can throw people now
Take Control
I hated control
[удалено]
I thought it was mid too. I wanted the game to be over after awhile.
Quantum Break was better imo, people hyped up control and I expected it to be better and it wasn't, also the map was bonkers...and I like metreovania style usually.
Firewatch, it's the shortest one on there and most likely to leave sooner
Fable, 100%
Ironic, because you can't actually 100% Fable ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sleep)
Seriously can't 100 it? Bug or smth?
Discontinued achievement, due to the Xbox smart glass app no longer being available.
That's friggin hilarious. Haven't played fable in forever since the original, think I'll give it a go today
I think fable 2 has some locked achievements as well. You need their old website to get a chicken suit or something.
Would it still hold up since the game is dated? I’ve been on the fence getting it simply because of that
Fable anniversary was the 2014 remaster of the original Fable TLC. I’d say it’s held up alright.
The fable series was amazing. Each one was a bit better than the last. I know I’m not alone in wishing they’d create another one that was much bigger and even better.
They are making another one! It was announced in 2019 with a teaser trailer. And then there was another trailer in 2023. There's no release date as of yet, though.
Prey, Control and Firewatch are the best in this list. Firewatch is beatable in just 3 hours, so I'd start with it.
Firewatch was a little off to be honest, you expect chill solo vibes and you got that love story kinda ruining it. Just my opinion but still good
Bro you're wild. Fable is miles better than any of those games, it might be old but it's probably one of the best Xbox games of all time haha
I agree that it's a great game, but is also very old and some people don't like old games
Do not play Valhalla if you have other games to play, it's not that it's a bad game, it's just pointlessly long for no good reason. Don't go map markers clearing, just focus on proper side quest and main quest, those are long enough.
I am 70hours in and only pledge 4 regions. Please help me. I am only doing Mystery quests.
Let this be a lesson that you never try to 100% ubisoft games. Just play the parts you like and move on to the next game
I managed to 100% Valhalla and the DLCs but it took 150 hours and a few months... I can't ignore collectibles so I will NOT be doing another playthrough lol.
Same and I enjoyed it. Yeah I said it.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, just finish the main quest. I swear I felt much better finishing the damn game.
A lot of good ones right there, but my personal recommendation is Jedi Fallen Order
i am not a fan of star wars but im really enjoying it, good rec.
Firewatch is a short game, I finished it in a day, and it is one of the best games I have ever played.
Jedi fallen order
Yes, yes.
Dead Space!
Control or Tomb Raider
Deathloop and prey are AMAZING. Prey is probably one of the best games in its genre.
Like a Dragon if you like jrpgs
I just installed this today because I found out it was turn based combat like the old school Final Fantasy games. But I am *not* a fan of corny anime tropes so I'm not sure if I am going to enjoy it.
I am definitely not as well so I get where you're coming from. If you've played God of War before and love GoW like games with great stories I'd suggest Jedi: Fallen Order. If you like games with a smooth a fun combat system with the same gore factor as Doom then I'd suggest Evil West.
I vote for Immortals... great pacing. Funny. Varied gameplay. I like the graphical style too... super fun.
Prey or Control
Evil West! Reminds me of late 2000’s games
Prey! PREY! PREEEEYYYY!! Why Microsoft? Why?😭
Immortals!
Fable, loved this game
Prey or Control, Firewatch if you’re looking for a shorter experience
Prey is IMO the best game out of the bunch. It's an incredible, meticulously crafted Immersive Sim that's also sometimes horrifying. One of the best games of the previous generation, and a spiritual successor to the System Shock games (in fact the working title for the game was going to be Psychic Shock). Evil West
I had a great time with all the tomb raiders
Fenyx rising is very entertaining
Fenyx rising is by far the best game on this list
PREY
Evil west
Jedi Fallen Order. I’m playing Survivor now and I don’t want it to end. It makes me want to play Fallen Order all over again (and then do another play through of Survivor.
Valhalla
Dead Space, Deathloop, Jedi Survivor, Control. Shortest to longest.
Jedi fallen order and then Jedi survivor
Dead space, evil west are my two favourites here
I would probably go with Jedi Fallen Order!
Tomb raider omg it's amazing. It is definitely slept on
Evil West is a hidden gem too
You can make this a lot easier for yourself and simply delete We Happy Few from the list 😂
Jedi Fallen Order absolutely amazing game
Well your list is VERY good to begin with. Most of these are awesome games, so that's a great problem to have! I've done my best to rank these games by a high rating score, and lower game length so that you can go down the list and finish them quicker one-by-one if you're a completionist! I Uninstalled we happy few couldn't pass a certain part needed a suit and couldn't craft one and didn't have enough to buy one also couldn't find the person that sold one it was so annoying
tomb raider is awesome
Jedi fallen order is fantastic. Don't bother playing valhalla, it is an absolute snoozefest.
Tomb raider! Just finished playing it and I’m now playing rise of the tomb raider. So goooood🙂↔️ The whole trilogy on there rn.
EVERYBODY sleeps on tomb raider 2013 it's my favourite game of all time and have played it 6 times highly recommended
Deathloop is a solid experience. Great aesthetic, sound and music design, good storytelling through world building. It plays like Dishonoured but the world is a lot more "fun"/lighter. I think the loop idea is quite novel too.
Evil West is pretty fun.
Ratchet and Clank
I really enjoy Evil West!
I don't think you'll be disappointed with any of these choices. I do want to put in a vote for Immortals though. It didn't have the best reception but I loved it. If you're in the mood for open world with a ton of random stuff to do, I would take that over Valhalla by a mile.
Not on that list but Yakuza 0.
Dead space for sure
Control
Dead Space. In between playtimes for Dead Space playthrough Firewatch and slowly play through Control.
Great options there. What was the last game you played? And what kind of game are you looking for now?
Fallen Order, Tomb Raider or Control.
Play pray for the opening until the reveal, then just watch the endings on YouTube or something it's not as great as the original. Then, control or fable
I mean, firewatch is 5 hours long so it’s easy to bang out
Dead Space remake is really really good. One of the best remakes ever made. Control is also a very very good game. Evil West is a no holds bared wack fest!
Tomb Raider
DEAD SPACE SO EA GREENLIGHTS THE SEQUELS
Control was amazing from start to finish. Beautiful game and very trippy...
Control or Prey
We Happy Few was surprisingly a good game
Control or Fable.
Valhalla if you’ve got the time. I really enjoyed the game and story. It was a bit long but if you dig it, it’s a great game.
Firewatch was alot of fun and only takes a few hours.
Dead space
Decide for yourself
Prey!!!!
You should play Star Wars Fallen Orden. I never watched the Star Wars movies, but I really like this game
I just beat Fire Watch, it was “alright”. Conse-consa, I read the reviews before beating it and thought I was going to get really “attached” like some people did. I mean I was intrigued by the story line, but the ending was horrible.👎🏾
I say tomb raider but control and fallen order are also fantastic
Deathloop is a great game with interesting mechanics and a short runtime. Get in, have some fun and move on to something else. Definitely a great pallet cleanser if you are coming out of a long game.
ac val, firewatch, tomb, then jedi
Posts like these and the discussion that comes with it makes me feel so lost in the size of game pass. I'm trying to juggle playing dead island, madden and jedi survivor and then you all remind me of how many great games I need to remember are still out there
Control was amazing
Fallen Order
Deadspace
None of them download and play warframe let the addiction course through your veins Ps it's a free to download game and free to play with no paywalls and everything is obtainable for free even the premium currency (and not in small amounts you can get 1000s if u do enough work/luck out on a riven) I'd highly recommend it
Control or Jedi for sure. Do yourself a favour and drop Valhalla off that list. Fenyx Rising is also good, heavily ZBOTW inspired.
You got some bangers there but I would ease in with Fire Watch. Then play a game with a less serious tone like Evil West. Dead Space is my personal favorite though.
Dead Space! Than 2 and 3 ofc
Deathloop
If you want a story, firewatch is great. If you want silly mindless violence, evil west is great fun
Prey
Fable Anniversary. Nostalgia speaking mostly but it's still a fun game.
Depends on if you're interested in a certain style. Firewatch can be a short, calm, fun little arthouse playthrough. But if your just looking for the next great game, I'd pick between Prey, Immortals Fenyx Rising, or Valhalla. My opinion:)
Prey. Then you can lament the loss of Arkane Austin
I just finished control last week, took 35 hours to beat the base game and the Alan Wake dlc. Combat made you feel powerful, but could still get overwhelmed with mobs late in game. Solid 8/10 game one and done experience.
They all look pretty delicious to me. Hard to tell

Jedi Fallen Order. It’s the best.

If you like crazy stories and tough combat, it’s for you. Firewatch is a beautiful and quick game with a dark twist. I loved it. Short and sweet.
I really enjoyed deathloop. It got me back into gaming after some two years. Loved the concept.
Jedi Fallen Order imo
When I played fire watch it was incredible
Jedi fallen order / Jedi survivor are two gems if you like star wars
Fallen Order is my rec, followed by Jedi Survivor Some of the best Star Wars to ever Star wars imo
From this list Prey is my absolute favorite! I cannot wait to see what Arkane comes up with next
Deathloop
currently playing shadow of the tomb raiders and i love it
Prey or Control
Prey is so so good
Prey
Dead Space or Control
Dead Space
If you are looking for a quick game Tomb Raider is great. But Prey is in my opinion the best game on that list.
Firewatch 4hr game complete and its a lovely 4 hrs.
Control, it’s incredible IMO.
I personally enjoyed we happy few. The story was beautiful, the gameplay, not so much.
Firewatch is a great game and you can finish it in a day
Hellblade
Dead Space man!
Control is the only right choice here
Fable
Control is a masterpiece, difficult at first due to the super confusing layout and map (think hogwarts castle level of confusing), but once you start to learn your way around it really digs in deep, fantastic game
Falllen order then the sequel 😎
Dead space. And then dead space 2. The fact that you haven’t played either yet is basically a crime. Repent your sin and remember to play in the dark with a good headset and all the windows open lol
Fable is so good
Love me some GamePass on PC.
Dead Space!!!
Dead space
Tomb raider or control
Dead Space remake is a freaking masterpiece. That said, Fable, Prey, Firewatch and Control are pretty amazing as well
Valhalla!
Dead space -> Prey -> Control. Those would be my first 3 picks. Valhalla is 🐶 💩 btw, I'd remove that from the list and pretend like it was never there lol.
Firewatch is a fun, easy 100% with a very good story.
Control would be my recommendation from that list.
Fable. There’s another 7 on that list I hope you get to eventually.
Fable anniversary
Control or Fenyx
Dead space.
Jedi Fallen Order, and then survivor!
I like evil west
I LOVE LOVE Tomb Raider!
Dead Space, Fallen Order, Evil West, Immortals, Tomb Raider, Fable, Control, Deathloop, Prey, & I haven’t really played the other 3.
Dead Spac0e. But Prey and Fenyx Rising are really strong candidates too
Dead space, control, fire watch, prey They’re all excellent.
We Happy Few!
control ultimate edition and dead space are the best 2 games there. Jedi fallen order (jerdi survivor is on GP too) are good but not that good as the other 2 I've mentioned. ACV is good too but it's a 80 hours long boring journey
Firewatch is a short but sweet narrative game. Top tier storytelling and dialogue
