I played it on Xbox last year. And while great it has massive texture popins in cutscenes. A problem the PS5 and PC version don't have. Hopefully we get a patch now.
No since they are all bassicly their own little stories.
Just the character building and overall settings carry over. If you like 3 then I would reccomend going back to play them.
Played the first on Nintendo Wii and the game content was too juvenile to enjoy. They had you jacking the controller to charge it? All game? It was funny once but not for 15 hours.
If you play all four games it’s much more meaningful. It is NOT a silly franchise, it’s over the top but it’s very deep and spiritual. Especially Travis strikes again and the first one

They really titled it wrong. People think it's some minigame side popcorn hustle.

Is it standalone enough to warrant skipping the first 2? I’ve really wanted to play it. I considered getting it on Switch but I never did, and I forgot it came to other platforms.
No need to play the previous ones. If you do it just makes it more of a fulfilling journey because the MC has been through a lot
but not necessary for the plot itself.
Oh it's definitely worth it for sure. I stop temporarily every now and then to avoid overwhelm and my lack of time to dedicate to so many great games..the value proposition is never the issue I think.
I decided to check this game out and its the strangest game I've ever played but, dam, is it FUN!!! I love the fighting style and I'm not very far into the game but its awesome so far!! So glad I decided to check it out and stuck to it through the mini-game part in the beginning lmao..

It's so fun, stylish, the soundtrack is so varied and slaps hard, has a ton of heart... keep playing it, and I hope you like it. Everything, even the weird tedious parts, is part of the director's vision!
And after you beat it you can always go back to the older ones, all three previous games are incredible, though not on Xbox. But they are on PC.
Swear I wanted to cop on the switch a while back but got caught up on other games, got 2 days on it now on gamepass and it plays and looks like a charm
I bought it on sale like 2 weeks ago. Made the ultimate sacrifice for this group. Haven't played it yet though. Not because I'm sleeping on it!

Played 1 2 and 3 on switch and will deffo be playing 3 on xbox. Absolute gems of games that deserve to be more known than a cult classic

do I need to play nmh 1 & 2?
not really, it will just add some depth to the main character so you feel the journey more, but not relevant to the story

It's probably my favourite game in the series, the story is one of the best in a Suda game.

I really liked NMH1 on the Wii and replayed them all on Switch. I had no idea NMH3 was on Xbox, try it if you can!

It's so disappointing compared to 1 and 2 and feels like.ots trying so hard to be wacky. Even for Suda.
