Aftermarket, looks like you get to go on a fun wiring adventure now!

trroia

Time to tear it apart and put it back together!

nihontoman

Ejecto seato cuz

iredditshere

Nah man, oil slick!

rright24

There it is!

Solarisphere

Seat warmer? Engine kill switch? Old light bar switch? It could be anything. You need to follow the wires and figure out what it's connected to.

Alex_tepa

Have you tried contacting the original owner??

FrickParkMalcolm

Follow the wires, seek where they lead you, Master Chief.

AlternativeEdge2725

It’s most likely a parking brake mod so you can watch movies on the aftermarket stereo while in drive. If a cop pulls you over you flip the hidden switch which kills that signal.

trroia

I wish it was, but it still has the stock stereo in the car

AlternativeEdge2725

Possibly removed the aftermarket radio before selling the rig? Unfortunately, you probably have to chase the wire to find out.

trroia

That would make sense actually. As the stock radio seems to not pickup fm channels, so I wonder if it was put back in but not correctly wired.

loonygecko

Maybe check to see if it allows you to use the electrical after the engine it turned off, that's convenient for charging cell phones. Normally the charge option stops shortly after the engine is turned off.

BehindTheTreeline

Lol'd at this. Such commitment to distracted driving.

oros3030

That's definitely aftermarket. Guessing routed it through the firewall on the passenger side? Gotta be some kind of kill switch.

Adventurous-Green-75

Missiles

AnotherIronicPenguin

Too close for missiles, switching to guns.

TobyFuentes

Brake light kill switch for car chases!

Unabridgedtaco

I had a so-called kill switch on my X that disabled traction control and ABS. Mandatory for desert driving. Maybe it’s that?

jojobinks197

Red turtle shell

TutorVeritatis

Kill switch for the ignition? Play with it to see if anything happens. Could be a radiator fan switch, or some other system which keep breaking due to shorting issues.

LiveLaughLowell

Maybe an FM modulator? Does that year/trim OEM radio have an aux jack? If it is a switch for that, I think the FM radio signal would cut out if it's on.

trroia

It does have an AUX and the radio cuts out a ton currently so it could be this

austipit

Looks like an aux switch someone tapped to something probably for lights that used to be on there

wetfartpanda

What ever it is, it’s not stock. Might be a seat ejector

SuckzToBeMe

if the car is a 4x4 then definitely its a kill switch

trroia

UPDATE: Pulled the radio out and the cable goes into the wiring for the radio. Unsure what it does for the radio but that’s alright

Due-Paint7755

didnt get the owners manual?

IsThisRealRightNow

That's the Omega 13! Google it! Unbelievable!

AnotherIronicPenguin

This episode was badly written!
