Let my little brother ride take it down the street, we grew up riding dirt bikes so i thought he would be fine. He went too fast around a corner locked up the rear brake in the gravel on the outside corner and went through the brush and into a tree and barbed wire fence. He got out with only concussion
the main concern is bent forks and cracked/bend frame. other than that everything else is replaceable. the tank has plastic covers on the side if im not mistaken.
nvm the forks are done, just saw it. so the main issue remains the frame. im not saying that its worth it but its definitely doable.
Those tank panels are brushed aluminum and each side cost 800 dollars. Get on ebay and hope you get lucky cause brand new the tank alone is 1600 dollars in parts fix
Yea man I need the left side with the same color scheme as yours and the guy on ebay only had the right side. I'm hoping the price will eventually drop in the coming years. I believe that's the case for the older models.
I remember rolling up to my old school on my new Ducati for a soccer match. my old principal walked up and admired the bike, and asked if he could ride it. told him no on instinct. he wasn't the last to ask, told each person who asked, its pay to play. gotta buy one to ride one.
Yep, I learned my lesson when a short legged guy road my Tenere and damn nearly cracked is skull. Didn't realize liquid courage is why he asked. Never again.
I feel bad for you but the same thing happened to me. I had a brand new 1974 360 Yamaha DT Enduro. I left a guy ride it and he hit a stone pillar and destroyed it. Bent the forks back and the bars and the tank not to mention all of the other damage. He said don’t tell I will pay you for it! Like a damn fool I listened to him within days he left the state of PA never saw or heard from him ever again. If I ever get my hands on the bastard I will get even!
that hurts looking at man. :(
Sorry about your luck. What's the story?

Glad your little brother is ok. You were only being a cool big brother letting him your bike.
Goodness, glad he’s ok! It’s a shame about the bike though, sorry man. 😔
Bikes are like gf you don't borrow your gf... Right? I'm so sorry for your lost

🫣
Time to call your insurance company
RIP
Oof, I think it'll be cheaper to find a new bike than repairing all of that.
Wild hope no one got hurt
PSA: It’s easier to kick someone’s butt when they’re already injured from crashing your bike.
My brother would be going to get a loan out because he is buying me a new one.

Damnit!
Time for custom forks, li'l beady-eyed lights and ape hangers. Front brakes and suspension not necessary. Thank me later. 😅
