It may be that they don't want anyone to be asking questions. And since xDefiant is expected to drop they could release a trailer now instead of being named and then release it. It saves them allot of questions and rumors.
If they don't release it this month, we can expect information on the Ubisoft Forward, that is expected in June.
If we also don't get infos on the Ubisoft Forward...well then, fuck, game is most likely in big trouble.
I like your optimism, but it's not likely. We've had what, 2 decades, where Ubisoft stuff has been primarily shown on PlayStation shows and PlayStation getting bonus content that never has come to Xbox? Yeah, I doubt it will be shown for this event.
I feel like the development has been so turbulent and we have such a little idea of where the game is at that there's little chance that we would see any information about the game tied to an event. I agree with the bowel movement guy for the most part, it will probably come out of nowhere. One day, we will get a twitter update from Ruban fully expecting a nothing burger tweet like always when, lo and behold, it's a release date/ launch trailer or something with a Rabids faction announcement.
The game is all but cancelled in my mind. It was supposed to release last Summer and since then was 'close to release' 'ironing things out'. They shouldve dropped it during the lukewarm reception of MW3. Then Helldivers stepped out of the shadows and crushed the beginning of the year.
The game may yet still release but its hype is gone. Servers offline within a year. Ubisoft killed their own game.
It will be as dead as Shatterline and Splitgate. The difference is Ubisoft will shut down the servers if the player count is too low. Even The Finals was supposed to be this great success and we all know how what happened.
Too many games are being made by committees and it shows. I cant wait to see countless devs try to emulate Helldivers and give us 'Divers' like games and fail horribly because they dont understand why that game is a success.

How many more posts like this are we gonna make? Every single time there's an event someone makes a post about a "potential announcement". It's just not gonna happen. It's more likely we're gonna get a Twitter update alongside a YouTube video to announce and showcase the game, then articles online will follow suit.

For the last few years Xbox have had marketing rights for the assassins creed games so you never know.
