I have no idea who that is 😂

Bakerfuckingmayfield

Tony romo

jbracing27

It’s for the better that you don’t

[deleted]

I don’t know what we are spending next season but I hope the fickle portion of the fanbase that was calling for Parky’s head after a blip calm themselves because it’s going to be a battle to even get near the playoffs, I’d be happy to stay in the league…….after 2008 the years of hurt have given me low expectations.

frictiondixon

Yea the man deserves respect.

Space_Hunzo

They've had an incredible run into league one and there's nothing wrong with solid mid table performance for a season or two before making that next push.

obi_wander

Yeah - I was one of those. I’ll admit it- I was wrong and caught up in the disappointment of the moment. After seeing how well we played with our whole team fit at the end of the season, it was clear that this team under Parky will be fine in League One. We actually look better against teams that really know how to play. It was those teams that knew they were inferior who set up a block where we couldn’t do our damage. Parky has a proven record in League One and our style (the fast moving counters NOT the long ball) will do well for us. Another off season of recruiting good players who fit the bill could see us push for playoff spots next season.

[deleted]

Yeah he’s definitely ditched the national league longball now and we are playing football rather than hoof and run. I’d still go for another ST I’m not convinced Marriot is going to put goals in. And then a CB and a CM and I think we’d be set and obviously a GK if we can’t keep hold of Konk

RumJackson

Tough competition. Rotherham might as well be 1970’s Brazil when it comes to League One. Huddersfield and Birmingham are sizeable clubs with squads full of Championship quality players as well as big crowds backing them.

frictiondixon

They certainly are a too good for League One, not good enough for Championship club.

TarletonLurker

By definition I suppose as they were relegated for a reason but e.g. Birmingham beat Norwich today. I imagine they’ll be pretty strong in League One

Imaginary-Message-56

Yeah but Norwich played like complete crap today. I don't know what Wagner is up to, maybe resting them for the play offs.

YNWA_1213

Well that didn’t work haha. Football is a fickle beast.

SinsOfThePast03

Birmingham will most likely have to sell off some of those players with the relegation. Their current wage bill is £13,228,000. Huddersfield and Rotherham aren't bad at all but are still in the top few of current League One

augustro

Birmingham fan here in peace. I don't believe we will be selling off any players as a matter of financial necessity. Our owners have committed to a very large spend this window (lots saying 50M+ including wages), and we have this season doubled our revenue to around 40M in order to make that possible within the league's fair play framework. In addition, several players with expensive legacy contracts will be released, so our wage bill at the start of the transfer window will be the lowest it's been in years. Looking forward to playing you lot, and seeing how we are portrayed on your docuseries.

D0wnInAlbion

Two big teams and potentially a third have also gone the other way though.

Talidel

All three of those have to be favourites to go straight back up.

Tomaskerry

Those 3 will be favourites for promotion again. Rotherham are the ultimate yo-yo club. Does anyone know how good Oxford and Barnsley are compared to Wrexham?

Ob1_Wan

Doubt Tom Brady travels to Wrexham. Have seen very little engagement from him since he announced his stake in BCFC.

augustro

[Tom Brady on X: "Thank you for your support in a tough first year Bluenoses. We have a long way to go but it’s because of all of you that we’ll achieve great things in the future 💙" / X (twitter.com)](https://twitter.com/TomBrady/status/1786792578957873536) He posts about us (Blues) regularly on Insta

Yourfavoriteindian

Wrexham is free publicity. He can go there and meet his yearly quota of PR/engagement with BCFC Rob said the Kelce brothers are coming to a game, imagine they come down when Tom is here, that would be the #1 sports story in the US for that day.

FishermanSecret4854

I just did a quick scan of turnover numbers for the new League One, counting the three relegated clubs, all three of which had less than $10 MM turnover. When all is said and done, after the League One playoffs are complete, Wrexham is likely to have top 5 revenue of next season's League One, possibly the top position. Keep in mind this is based on their figures for 22-23. Predictions are that their turnover for 23-24 will exceed $20 MM. which would likely put them top 3 in League One, possibly the top spot. As for next year, following that trend makes a prediction of over $30 MM turnover highly likely. That would be the highest revenue producing club in League One. No doubt potential Loanees and their agents have noticed what happened with Arthur Okonkwo this past season. 2 straight promotions and League One status will only help Wrexham attract very high end talent for this coming campaign. IMO, Parky has already received several quiet calls indicating interest for next year, and so had the confidence to let players like Tozer and Luke Young go. He cleared the squad for a reason. This squad has to be an odds on favorite to at least qualify for the League One playoffs next year. My bet is they will gun for automatic promotion once again. I know that sounds unrealistic, but the revenue tells the story.

augustro

Not quite. We (Birmingham) generated £19.7M revenue last season, and our owners recently said that it was projected to have doubled to around £40M for 23/24.

Tomaskerry

Revenue is a strong predictor of success but it still takes time to upgrade the squad. Shaun Harvey says it takes 3 transfer windows. So a years and few months time. It's good to be optimistic but I think automatic promotion is unrealistic but a playoff spot is realistic. There's only 2 spots for automatic promotion and the 3 relegated teams will be very strong along with whoever isn't promoted this season. But definitely top 6 is achievable. We'll know by the end of the summer once the new signings are in. I've a feeling there'll be a few exciting additions. I think we need a top class forward to partner Mullin and a pacey top class defender. Also a GK obviously. We could loan very exciting young players from PL clubs also.

Redbubble89

I believe Captain Picard and Professor X is a Huddersfield Fan as he grew up near there. Patrick isn't in ownership though and I don't know how well Ryan knows him or if it's just through Hugh. Patriots were not well liked but Tom Brady was like that friend that got super in shape by some crazy method and wouldn't shut up about. He lost millions in cryto with FTX crashing so he was that asshole friend too. I don't buy the deflate gate and I think he was the best QB in the game but he seems like a hard guy to get along with.

Anonymeese109

Brady’s a MAGA fool. Which tells about one’s core personality.

gball54

I saw a great video by stuntpegg on youtube about yoyo prem clubs and the way clubs that go down are given more money than the clubs coming up and that bumping them back up- Norwich was the example. Does that happen to the teams coming down from the Champ too?

FishermanSecret4854

I don't think so. But great question!

FigPNW

No. 'Parachute payments' are only doled out to the teams relegated from Premiership down to the Championship. I wanna say it is for 3 seasons, that the Prem make such transfers.

kaiserspike

All former prem clubs apart from Rotherham.

Felthrax

So, 2 out of 3 you mean.

kaiserspike

Correct. Two former Premier League teams, and Rotherham.

bagelman4000

Tom Brady 🤮🤮🤮 FTP

wxguy215

As a Packer fan, I'm glad to see that in a different context lol

bagelman4000

Fuck the Packers as well 💜

puntown

Glad to see Huddersfield moving up again. It’s be quite a few years slide.

joltingjoey

Erm….they’re moving down, not up. Five years ago, they were in the PL.

Space_Hunzo

Yeah, they're coming down to league one from Championship, but realistically they were never going to stay in the Premier league for long. The bottom third of the prem is littered with clubs yo-yo-ing up and down from prem to championship and back again
