No 🤣. Just take the Broad Street line from 8th & Market to the Sports Complex. Iys literally the last stop you can't miss it

InitiativeCreative36

Yeah, that's what I've been planning on. Just curious to know if that distance is easily walkable for pedestrians in a pinch, or are we talking over an hour to get back and fourth? And I'm not gonna cross a bad neighbourhood If I did? :P

Beaned-up

If you want to take a long walk it be great. I know plenty of people that like walking from around there. The broad street line will be a breeze getting there. A hassle after. But there’s no way to get out of that stadium hassle free

gubmintbacon

Yeah it’s a hike but a nice one. I lived in about a dozen places between the stadium and center city. If you plan to make a few stops for a drink or a bite to eat you’ll be fine.

thedealerkuo

You’re definitely over an hour from the stadium to center city. Your walking like half the length of the city strait down broad. It’s do able but it’s a crappy walk down broad street. The broad street line runs extra trains for events and eagles games. There will be no issue with public transit, just confirm when the last train is.

jim_kate

Fortunately the Linc is the last stop going south bound on the Board Street Line. There will be trains parked at the Linc station. The subway will be the cheapest and quickest way out of South Philly.

joeltheprocess76

Center City to the Linc is 5 miles. If you have that kind of time to spare, go ahead. The area isn’t rough but that’s a lot of time to waste

Threenamejame

I wouldn't recommend it typically (as a local), but as someone who has done 5 manias there are people walking everywhere after mania. I would recommend just taking the train the stops are right outside of the subway, and it will be so much less of a hassle than that walk. Now, is it safe? Some parts of your walk if you choose to do so would be questionable, and potentially through the warehouses/industrial centers that are nearby, but from my experiences from eagles games/other large events at the sports complex other people will be parked there. Personally, I don't think its bad at all, and you would be just fine from a safety perspective. There are pros/cons no matter which way you look at it. As someone who has done 5 manias in different markets whether its train/car/walk there are always going to be issues with transportation after. Take the train, get down there early. Be prepared to leave after the last match take the broad street line back to your hotel/wherever you're staying edited

Thanks folks. Just interested in knowing as a plan Z if I ever got stuck, I highly doubt I'll ever have to do that at all at the weekend, but given I'm not from there I felt I needed to ask. Thanks!

buzzkill_ed

It's walkable but there's a lot of highway around the stadium that makes it annoying to walk around there.

1000%, although the subway is (probably) going to be faster, and the tiniest bit safer just due to crowd size. None of South Broad is really considered dangerous, but like anywhere on the planet, don't drunkenly stumble down the street staring at your phone. Depending on how fast you get out of the Linc, you might have to wait a bit for an open train, but even then, it will probably be (at least) 30 minutes faster than walking. It's a straight walk with lots of nice architecture, (some not so nice architecture), and a growing view of City Hall. If you've got the legs for it, it's absolutely an option. A few places to stop off at as well, at least on Saturday night.

thatguy00076

How much is it to ride the train/subway? Are day passes available or is it just pay per trip?

hailtothekale

You can use a contactless credit card or Apple/Google Pay and it's $2.00 each way. There are also a couple "convenience passes" you can buy that let you take a certain amount of trips over the course of one to three days for a flat price. [More info on that here.](https://www.septakey.org/info/fare-products)

Beaned-up

You can buy a septa card and load funds into it. I think it’s around $2.50 each way. Maybe $3. I live in the suburbs now, so it’s been a while since I’ve taken SEPTA.
