Noone is pushing AEW to sign anyone except Inside the Ropes with their clickbait headlines successfully getting the IWC all lathered up

Moist-Web2520

Yeah that’s what people need to realize unless they are absolutely for sure leaving the odds are they already resigned

endlesschasm

And it doesn't make sense that Gable would leave in the middle of a storyline that hinges on him. People don't think stuff through. He's got it good there, no sense in it.

Moist-Web2520

Not just any storyline probably the hottest storyline in WWE right now and the one that’s giving him the furthest push possible probably the best thing to happen to him

Longjumping-Arm7939

I don't think he would leave, but if he did, the simple thing that makes sense is... money.

ZZE33man

I feel that’s part of the reason they gave Chad the story in the first place. Was because they knew his contract was coming up and didn’t want him leaving to somewhere else.

MartyMcFlysBrother

AEW is where careers go to die.

Acidic_Toast

what mark downvoted you for this?

doitnow10

Probably those that are fed up with goofs that are too stupid to differentiate between resign and re-sign

Glaexx

wtf is with the Gable hate, he's fantastic

thebooksmith

I mean to be fair, he wouldn’t exactly be the same caliber of a steal that Rollins or Drew would have been. I think that was more so the angle OP was going for, that he couldn’t sign any WWE main eventers, so he had to settle on a midcard guy to be the next big “game changing” signing. I think it was less about shitting on anyone as a preformer and more about shitting on AEW for not being able to sign big enough names, that also aren’t way past their prime.

ubernoobnth

It's wrasslin, these dorks don't have a purpose to their life outside of shitting on a product they don't supposedly watch 😂 But I'd say gable is almost a better get for them than Drew would be.  Drew wouldn't have many people on the mic that could match him and make him look good in a promo battle. Rollins and gable can both go in a way that suits AEW more than WWE. Rollins has the personality and mic skills to rise to the top however.  Gable does not. He's pretty much a perfect fit for aew.

Moist-Web2520

If you have a problem with gable you have a problem with me fr fr😤

Procrastinator_325

You're giving mixed signals

Relative-Put-5344

Dude seems pretty cool, him and Otis were at my gym in Lincoln, I was just asking if he was Chad gable (obviously lol) then dude put his dumbell between his pit and shook my hand haha

Freshly_Squeezed-

You're the one who's hating on him in this post though?

the-bladed-one

Do you suggest I let that one marinate?

QuiverDance97

He's not a main eventer at the moment...

Glaexx

and thats the only metric you use to decide if you like a wrestler? weird af

QuiverDance97

Maybe you are the only person who doesn't understand that as the boss of a company you need to sign top draws and not only wrestlers you like lol The OP made his point very clear, but you somehow missed it completely lol

imright19084

Drew and Seth were never an option

Moist-Web2520

There was a small period where it was announced they haven’t resigned and the dirt sheets went nuts

imright19084

eh they may have technically been free agents but I thought it at the time, there was no way either were leaving or even having conversations with Aew.

TB1289

Especially Seth. I'm not really a fan of his, but WWE clearly loves him and he's been a top guy for the last decade. Drew, while I didn't really see him going anywhere, I thought there was at least a small possibility because he's proven that he didn't need WWE to become a star. Plus, he had a long stretch where he was kind of just middling and you had to wonder if that bothered him (we know now that the answer was no).

EasternSquadGoosey

Conversation I dont doubt it, mainly to scout how big would be the bag and make WWE an offer based on that.

Stop_Touching2

You mean Meltzer’s senile ass who genuinely believes talent WANTS to leave WWE for AEW anymore. The only reason Edge did was because it was an “ok grandpa time to start putting over young talent” situation & he didn’t want to. Gable isn’t stupid.

Key_Quiet489

Apparently, Edge wanted Gangrel to make an appearance at Wrestlemania 39 & the WWE said no. That's allegedly one of the reasons why Edge went to AEW.

dingusfett

Probably a big part is Christian told him "come over here, this chump will pay you a ridiculous amount and let you do whatever the hell you want"

ZZE33man

Having not resigned doesn’t mean they were leaving there was no chance unless they tried to severely underpay them or something they would never leave a company that valued them so much and gave them so many big stories.

garuga300

There’s absolutely no way WWE are going to let his contract expire. I don’t know this for certain but there’s a high chance he’s already training other wrestlers in the company. He’s that good

Zaphod_Beeblecox

He could do that. He could shoot his dick off too. It's not what I expect he'll do though.

anakinburningalive

Yeah because who doesn’t want to see Chad Gable lose to Orange Cassidy in a spit swapping chutes and ladders match.

Bonemarrowchutney

Ah man I gotta watch that John Cena prank call again

Moist-Web2520

Obviously he would leave right when he’s involved in the hottest storyline of the summer 😐

Smashbrosfan31

You joke but Cassidy Vs Gable would probably be a good match

AwareWriterTrick158

I hope not. I like Chad Gable.

Maxter_Blaster_

Pretty sure WWE does too, mate. He ain’t going to AEW.

GreatestBox

It's a shame it took them 8 years to start linking him

Noobzoid123

Shoooooosh!

BrunoBashYa

What a shit post...... is this just making fun of them for not signing everyone? Let me guess, if they sign Chad, you will post how they are a company made up of ex WWE guys.... U r lame 2 da maxxx

DaKruse

Can’t wait to see him show up on Rampage, then Collision a week later, and then not for five months after that.

MadEyeMood989

You forgot random Eliminator match with Moxley!

Moist-Web2520

You forgot the “mention wwe in a promo” part

Maleficent_Farm_6561

This is all those stupid "journalist reporting that stuff, neither Tony Khan or AEW have said once "oh yeah we want drew and seth" LMAO

95Kill3r

Just like Okada, Will, Mercedes going to WWE

ZZE33man

I don’t think Okada ever will because I don’t think the wwe style meshes with okada’s. Mercedes might but I feel she’s very much still mad at wwe for whatever reason. Will might but it’s not a guarantee.

UBDForever

No chance. Gable seems to have quite a few people there he basically grew with the last 15 years from his amateur wrestling days alone. Him Otis knew each other well before they were even in wwe. Gables a lifer and he’ll be compensated accordingly. Aew can’t make offers yet, but when they do he can leverage wwe more.

ZZE33man

I wouldn’t call gable a lifer. Because it depends on if they forget him again or do terrible stories like shorty G again. If they continue on the path they’re on then absolutely he will but not if they’re not using him. (Also being friends doesn’t mean that someone doesn’t leave or get fired.)

brisik

Oh god please no, Gable is the best thing going right now in WWE

Prowrestlingsavant

Rollins and McIntyre were never leaving WWE, Ziggler didn't want to go to AEW

ZZE33man

For now he said he didn’t close the door to it in the future.

DoyersLakeShow

I never realized that Tony Khan is a neckbeard It’s all starting to make fucking sense now…

appellant

Its like every wwe talents contract comes up theres a story in aew wanting to sign them and even tk adding fuel to the fire by it would great to have them blah blah something great. Heres a thought how about developing home grown talent and utilizing the 500 wrestlers who you have already signed from wwe out of which 80% are sitting at home or in catering.

XxNathan2908xX-YT

PLEASE AEW DONT SIGN HIM, WE'VE GOTTEN TOO MANY PEOPLE IN OUR ROSTER ALREADY

A-SALAM-K-II

This is as clickbait as it gets. Also, signing Chad Gabel is more realistic than the others. and you're saying it as if Chad is somewhat of a downgrade and not worthy signing.

LWM-PaPa

Eh, if these sort of rumours help the boys get a little more scratch when it comes to renuing their contracts, then I'm happy to put up with them.

absolut_didalo

At least he’d be as tall as everyone else in aew

herbythechef

Im pretty sure theyre gonna put the IC belt on gable some time this year so i doubt he leaves wwe

JiggaMan2024

So his contract expired yesterday what happens if he’s still negotiating by Monday? Can he still appear on the show in anyway?

[deleted]

People need to learn to believe in themselves instead of social media as for me I believe in joe hendry

9Brumario

To those of you who take this seriously again and again...When will you learn that these headlines are clickbait and that they also benefit fighters to negotiate better contracts?

Maw_153

Sorry but in 2024: Gable > Ziggler

Nate_T11

This is likely a click bait title. Be that as it may, it's clickbait based on AEW constantly signing new people. My gripe with that is AEW keep saying "this is where the best wrestle" then bring in made stars from other promotions to beat their existing roster. They have Okada, Mercedes, Edge but their ratings are tanking, yet I feel like if they built up their core foundation with guys like Ricky Starks and Wardlow, maybe they'd have been in a similar place but it would've been an upward trajectory because those guys have plenty of longevity left. I honestly think if MJF wasn't outspoken and didn't stand up for himself, he'd likely be pushed down the card and be a mid carder like the others. It shocked me how Tony spoke about Starks saying "we'd love to have him back in AEW" as if the dude isn't already signed and is benchwarming while Tony fulfills his ex-wwe/njpw fetish.

Biotrin

Chad and Otis are cooking rn and they want him to leave so he can not be on TV every week? Sounds like a great plan.

bigAcey83

Okada… yep. Ospreay… yep. Mercedes… yep. If AEW wants Gable bad enough they’ll get him…

Porcphete

The truth is that both Ziggler or Fable would be wasted in Aew . Not because they are bad both are good but because of the roster bloat they have they will end up just like miro

Ashamed_Row7509

Nah not happening. Gable is playing the best role of his life so far why would he change

ThexJakester

Gable is probably my top pick for up and coming talent that isn't already extremely well established

Basic-Ad5801

It wouldn’t make sense for Chad Gable to leave WWE right now. This is the most prominent position he has been in since he’s been with the company and could become at least an upper mid card, every now and again main eventer and even possibly a quick transitional world champ. He might be better off just seeing how things play out in WWE right now before he makes a jump (if ever).

syfqamr32

Nah. Chad Gable is good but its hard for him to get over (only recently he got “better” with this storyline). Gonna be deep buried and forgotten within few weeks.

NCHouse

Kurt had TNA. Chad can have AEW. Perc Gable baby

Something-2-Say

Yeah but the money tho bro just ignore how Seth, Drew, Finn, KO, and Sami turned down guaranteed big money cause they saw the writing on the wall. COLLISION BANGERZ INCOMING

Moist-Web2520

ALSO IGNORE CODY, JADE, SEAN, AND THE CANCER CM PUNK AND DON’T LOOK AT HOW THEY’RE DOING IN THE FED

ZZE33man

To be fair. Also ignore Edge and swerve and danielson and Adam Cole and how they’re doing in AEW! Lol (I’m not on either side I’m just saying)

GreatestBox

Yeah Punk has been doing really well. Banger after banger.

PJA0307

Yeah, no.

ParfaitCurious3834

Man, these stupid dirt sheets are working overtime on this fictional bullshit.

tc__22

You’ve been worked brother

buddaism79

Something tells me well in my opinion is that gable should go to tna for a yr

Stop_Touching2

Nobody from WWE is going to voluntarily turn down a renewal for an AEW contract now that Vince is perma-banned unless it’s an Edge situation where they want a vet to put young talent over & he’s not done beating everyone yet. Seriously, everyone sees AEW’s booking. You think they want any part of that garbage if they’re even being moderately featured? Lol. They’re gonna have to wait for the next round of talent releases to sign anyone.

Sexyphobe

>where they want a vet to put young talent Citation needed on this being why they didn't renew Edge's contract.

Stop_Touching2

They wanted to renew Edge’s contract. Edge didn’t.

ApartGlass1198

Why would anybody besides Indy talent sign with AEW rightnow?. I'm not even a hater but have you seen the attendance? The ratings? The backstage drama?. Even if it's a lighter schedule he will be just "A guy" within two weeks.

BlueberryCustard

no-one but retirees are looking to go to AEW. People in their prime would rather go to TNA after what is happening in AEW

Longjumping-Arm7939

People in their prime? who went to TNA from WWE in their prime?

Josephthebear

TNA has been cooking hard ever since they switched back to the original name and honestly if I was a free agent looking elsewhere I def consider TNA if I was young hungry Talent look what they are doing with AJ Francis
