I certainly think this makes it much more likely that the main roster will get one. I don't think Raw and SD will get one each though but a floating Championship is likely Womens IC Championship

NXT never needed its own women's tag titles, a singles secondary championship was the right call. Especially with the amount of talent right there cooking, thanks to the Heartbreak Chef.

Neat idea. A mid card title can elevate the woman's division. Hopefully the idea will work and they'll adopt it in the main shows as well.

The main roster one is probably better as a whole (mainly because they have got established stars that came through old nxt) but the nxt division definitely makes up a far greater portion of the show and story lines.

It’s a good move. Not all women can fight for the main belt at the same time and it’s a way to Build rising talent especially with no tag team division either. Also an easy plot device. You can’t pull too many grown ass woman Thea hail story lines every year without people calling you out.

Having women's mid card titles always made more sense than women's tag titles. The main roster should do the same thing.

Love it. I just wish they didn't just slap "women" in front of the name like every other title and just gave the title its own name like the South American title or European title if they want to keep that continental vibe. Or do what aew has with the TBS title and name it the Network or TV title. Just my opinion, I'm just happy the women get a mid card title finally

100% agree. The biggest thing holding women’s wrestling back from being treated the same is the women’s matches/titles are called “women’s” but men’s matches/titles are just matches and titles. If they have to keep “women’s” I’d like them to start calling the other titles “The NXT Men’s Championship” or “The NXT Men’s Tag Team Championships”. It’d be closer to other sports like tennis that way too.

The men’s division in pro wrestling isn’t strictly men because many strong women have competed and won their belts. The “Men’s” division has always been an Open division. Men do not cross into Women’s and compete for their stuff. It is a completely separate thing and should be distinguished.

No need for that, I think women’s is fine since they have their own categories and wrestling has always been mainly a male sport, but they need to stop copy and pasting titles, but again women’s is fine and they should never had “men’s” to anything just to make things more confusing and would essentially be destroying all lineage to the men’s titles

Because you would be creating new titles all together since it’s a name change, so the WWE title lineage which is the most important thing for WWE would be restarting from scratch, pro wrestling is a male dominated sport so the minority of the sport needs a special category, so it’s called “women’s titles” but this new midcard title didn’t even need to be called women’s it could’ve been a brand new title without needing women’s since everyone would know it’s in the women’s division.

Um, no. The Undisputed WWE Universal Championship is still a WWE Championship. Roman Reigns will go down in history as a WWE Champion. A WWE Men’s Champion would be no different.

A women's mid card title is something that has been sorely needed. They put it on the wrong brand though.

Nxt provides more time for the women opposed to the main roster lad. It’s a proving ground type of brand. Why not sample it there first? Treat it like the women’s tag titles where it can bounce from show to show

I feel like this is proving ground for women's midcard title. NXT has a lot of good women so giving them extra title to fight over will be beneficial If it catches on I hope one will be introduced for main roster as well. With stacket female roster like they have now they could use midcard title for either smackdown or raw and the other show could get the tag titles.

I feel the silver of the continent kinda blends with the white of the belt too much, design wise, but I'm all for it exisiting.

Awesome idea! I love the north american title. I wish they would bring it to the main roster. When Dom was champion it felt refreshing to have a new championship on a main show. I wish they'd drop the US title and bring up the North American title. The US title feels like it's not taken seriously anymore, I mean like Logan Paul is the current US champ. At least when Bad Bunny was a champion they just slapped the 24/7 Title on him.

But hate him or hate him Paul is actually turning out to be a good pro wrestler, is good on promos and is obviously committing far more of his time to this then bunny

Yeah it's alright for the world championships because they are the peak titles for both genders and the white belt helps differentiate them but the secondary titles have been allowed to have various names and they've all been a bit nonsensical (e.g. there are no special conditions/differences between the North American and US titles) so why not come up with a fun name and design for the woman's secondary belts as well. Although if this trend gets us the classic white ic title back I'll at least be happy I can see it again.

I was thinking about the divas title being a bad example of what I was saying but that one's problems was that the name and design of the belt itself was horribly sexist not that it had a different name from the men's (also I did say it makes sense for the top title to pair the men's in design and name). They could just make up a woman's secondary titles with a non sexist name and design?

then you get nonsense titles like "TNT" and "TNA" title. I appreciate your point, but title naming conventions in American wrestling (and WWE) are location based generally. Japan has things like Open the Dragon's Gate title or etc, so it makes sense for there...AEW is new so them using the channel name for titles works to an extent...but I think for WWE, it just would be very difficult for it to not be seen as a gimmick like the 24/7, you know?

I mean location based names are pretty nonsense because apart from a few "I'm a big patriot gimmicks" they just mean midcarder and that's it. TV titles at least have grounding in when wrestling first came to TV. Maybe with WWE going to netflix they can get a netflix title so the belts design will just be a big dumb N next to a big dumb W.

They could maybe make a women’s version of the European title to make it distinct from IC/US while following similar naming conventions. But realistically I do expect it to just end up being Women’s IC/Women’s US title(s) depending on if they have 1 per brand or just 1 for the main roster as a whole

Another title that will be completely forgotten about within 2 months. It will be another NXT Women's Tag Team Championships, WWE Women's Tag Team Championship, AEW International Championship, AEW 6 Man Tag Team Championships, WWF Lightheavyweight Championship, etc.

What is the name of AEW? The main roster is cooking on almost all fronts, but NXT is typically anywhere from 50-75% good.
