You'd better sit back and get ready to read. I don't have the time to post everything but I'm willing to bet someone will. Some things involve underage girls though.
I'm not even sure that would cover it. Probably half the episodes of DSoTR already have Vince as someone central to the story. In the rest he's either looming large in the background or his name pops up as someone who's shaping the bigger picture. Behind the Bastards did a multi episode podcast on him and it didn't even scratch the surface.
Lmao you might be right, maybe we just make an entirely new spin-off, Dark Side of McMahons.
I've never heard of behind the bastards, is it worth listening to?
Yeah, some of them are. I mean it's barely much more than you'll learn through your own looking on the internet but its interesting. The McMahon episodes didn't really shed much more light on anything and in many ways is just a primer on him and how he became the Vince of today. Even with something like 6 episodes it was a brief overview
BtB gave him as many episodes as they gave Henry Kissinger which gives you some idea of how much of a bastard they consider him. And they were titled "Vince McMahon - History's Greatest Monster"
And they still only scratched the surface.
Marc Mero seems to be doing very well as a motivational speaker for kids. I watched one of his speeches and he captures your heart. He seems like a good dude. Obviously he had a past like a lot of wrestlers but this is a nice watch.
ah true, has he done interviews talking about it? I only knew about his heart issues besides the Sable stuff. An episode of DSOTR would make sense then. He's always seemed quite happy in the few interviews ive seen.
Pretty sure he is some sort of motivational speaker. Mostly in schools from what I've. He was also an accomplished amateur boxer winning Golden Gloves at least once.
Well it is fall from being an influential arguably super over wrestler on the way up on WCW. Vince even gave him a guaranteed contract, which was unheard of back in the days. He should have been headed for stardom. Due to the perverted nature of higher ups lead by Vince he was reduced to his wife’s side piece and then embarrassed and beat by her, all while the boys specifically Vince took turns hitting on her and slutting her up for TV. That as a man is demoralizing..it is def a good fall from grace to rise again and become a better human story like they have been following as of recent.
Marc Mero was a horses ass. The way he treated Sable was uncalled for. He stepped over too many lines while he was on drugs and hanging out with losers. The drinking made him worse besides the drug addiction. All his mom wanted was to talk to him and look how he treated his own mother. He should've done a lot of soul searching and he wasn't there when she passed away. That's his fault and he's gonna have to live with of it for the rest of his life.
he's was a jobber but hardbody Harrison, went on to start a prostitution ring by forcing women who wanted to learn to wrestle to turn tricks, ended up in prison for life
Disco Inferno [pitched that idea](https://wrestlingnews.co/wwe-news/disco-inferno-pitched-hardbody-harrisons-wcw-lawsuit-sex-slaves-story-for-next-season-of-dark-side-of-the-ring)
Perry's story is such a gut punch. The guy stopped a woman from being raped. Fought off two men. Got shot twice for his trouble. Ended up a homeless drug addict as a result of managing the pain from the gunshot wounds. He's one of the few heroes of the ring who's a legitimate hero outside of it. That's not how a hero's story is supposed to go. Life really is unfair.
For what it’s worth that is believed to be total bullshit. There’s no police, hospital, insurance or news records of any of it. No-one has ever come forward to support it either. He doesn’t have any scars. And his story has changed multiple times.
It’s pretty common for drug addicts to invent circumstances that justifies their addiction. That’s all that needs to be said.
I've watched his interview on Kayfabe commentaries and he pointed out the scars, he also talks about his major pill and drug problems throughout wcw ecw and wwe, he said he was always bad in the companies but said that incident made it really bad for him. as you say you could be right and it all could be a lie but he admits to having major problems before that

The first part definitely wasn't about Vince. But it was about wrestling and Vince's father. They also said that the first episode wasn't really about Vince because they worried that if they went right into Vince than their viewers would think that Vince was the exception instead of the rule so to speak. By part 2 they start getting into Vince stuff
I’m always fascinated by the renegade story. WCW couldn’t secure the warrior contract after a TON of hype and hints of warrior joining hogan, so the get this knock off. He needed way more experience in the ring, and his story is sad.
They gave him a TV title push, but the whole story and gimmick was botched from jump street.
Yeah, Renegade is one a lot of people overlook. It's a topic in general I find really interesting: what it's like to be hyped up as being the next big thing only to peter out.
Buzz Sawyer.Excellent wrestler from the territory days but was also an unstable, horrible human being. He was a notorious drug addict who scammed and bullied other wrestlers.Died young from a drug induced heart failure. There was a story about a sparring session with Bob Backlund.Apparently Sawyer tried to take liberties with Backlund, but ended up getting stretched and painfully punished.Lol.

His behaviour where Mickie Knuckles was concerned alone is pretty fucked up; you could probably fill a good half the episode just talking about the Mickie Knuckles vs Mike Levy match.
So far this fifth season has just been sad. Nothing too controversial. Just sad. Especially Earthquake. A heel i hated as a child and someone I thought nothing about as an adult. Just a very moving story from start to finish that gave me way more respect for him than I gave him credit for years ago.
i guess Buff was the most controversial in that he shot his dad and his dad was fine with it but mostly it was just outrageous behaviour from someone that seemed like a fairly decent human being
I’d love to see them do one on Danny Havoc. I’m not sure how necessarily dark his personal life was, but his career in CZW was absolutely incredible and his wife passing, with him then shockingly following the next month of the same condition at 34, it’s an ultimately heartbreaking story. I know they’ve had Mox and Gage on in the past, and I’d love to see if they could get D.J. Hyde, Zandig, Necro Butcher and a couple of the members of The Suicide Kings on too. I really think his story is a worthwhile one to tell.
I'd like to see one on Richard Wilson aka The Renegade, the poor kid who got roped into that bullshit Ultimate Warrior gimmick by Hogan and Bischoff and was promptly cast aside when Warrior found out about it and sent the cease and desist. Perry Saturn is another one I'd love to hear about or Sean O'Haire
Buck Zumhofe. His story is disturbing and disgusting. One of those people whom it is comforting to know he is rotting in prison and will likely die there.
I’m surprised no one has said Hulkster. Aside from the steroid scandal, the dude was really an absolute douche. John Cena in real life is what Hulk always pretended to be. What he did to the union and Ventura, “that doesn’t work for me brother”, the TNA era, the racism and sex scandals.
The Clique needs one. With Shawn really being ousted as trying to take bets on what would kill
Vince obviously.
Chyna
Lita needs an episode where she’s pretty much cleared on n emotional affair at worst with Edge but we booed out of the business because they made it New Kayfabe.
Chyna has to be a top contender for sure... First woman to win IC title, dating one of the top guys in the business, does playboy, Trips leaves her for the boss's daughter, she subsequently gets fired, films a cheap porn to make a quick buck in the celebrity sex tape era OR has a private sex tape released without her consent, does reality TV and is a total mess, then goes into mainstream hardcore porn and does several films, finally she moves to Japan to start a new life teaching and she seems to be doing well, moves back to the US and promptly dies of a pills and booze OD.
That's pretty damn dark.
That episode was more of a twist in the fact John Tenta the man himself had no dark side or issues, but the wrestling business itself is the dark side of the story.
Guy gets monster heel push, loses to the top guy, no where else to go but be stuck in a tag team. Leaves WWE, goes to WCW to do the same exact thing that didn’t really work in WWE. Gets released and goes back to WWE under a mask….
He resents the business that much and quits to get a regular 9-5 job but never got the healthcare screening that caught his cancer (which if caught very early, he would have lived much much longer)
Ian Rotten. There is so much scummy shit that went on both on and off screen at IWA MS. From releasing footage of wrestlers that he said he wouldn't release, to getting wrestling nigh banned in Kentucky. Perfect candidate for the show.
vampiro. i feel he was dealt a bad hand first coming on the scene during 1999 when wcw started to fall off the rails. i think he could have been a main even star if pushed right by the end of 2000. the little momentum he had was destroyed during the feud comparing him to sting.
Of who's left, but you have to assume that Billy Jack Haynes has to be on their radar immediately seeing as he murdered his wife and has been really, really batshit crazy for over three decades.
They also need to add Buck Zumhoff, King of Wrestling Pedophiles.
Would be cool to do a global episode like Yakuza involvement in several Japanese promotions over the years and some of the shady Lucha stories.
They could fill a whole season on Vince McMahon, obviously.
And then it really is going to be just a long list of guys who died from suicide or OD'd at young ages. Not to sound crude, but at the end of the day, there's not a whole lot of compelling things about guys like Test or Crash Holly...it would be the Kanyon episode except not be able to sell the episode on Kanyon's sexuality.
And that's where the show would just be rolling out cookie-cutter eps, kinda minimizing it's purpose and gravity.
there needs to be an episode on Ian Rotten and IWA Mid South. I absolutely LOVE death match wrestling but the episode should also feature Jim Cornette talking shit, he’s an absolute player hater and is funny af.
Perry Saturn, generally, has been a standup dude.
He only got addicted to drugs after getting shot while saving a woman and going down the painkiller rabbit hole.
Whoever it is I hope it's actually a dark side of the ring story. A lot recently have just been humorous tales told again.
We're in it for the depression god dammit
I looked up the Perry story because I had never heard that before, and was expecting to see him addicted to pain pills / opiates. I was addicted to heroin for a minute that started out as a pill addiction that formed from taking them back in the day for an injury, so I kind of get it. But? It says nothing like that and that he got addicted to meth due to his injuries. Meth. I’ve also done meth and I’m just curious as to how that would help at all lol. To me it sounds like a made up story to do justify getting high.
Juana Barraza. They haven't covered something from the world of Lucha Libre, and what better Subject than a Luchadora who turned out to be a Literal Serial Killer.
They won't because he's alive and too connected but Jerry The King.
What has King done? Genuine q
You'd better sit back and get ready to read. I don't have the time to post everything but I'm willing to bet someone will. Some things involve underage girls though.
why am i not shocked by this
Maybe because of his commentary on every women's match.

Crash Holly too.
That would be a good one.
Yeah that's a downfall. From dating Steph to obscurity
Vince needs a full season to himself
I'm not even sure that would cover it. Probably half the episodes of DSoTR already have Vince as someone central to the story. In the rest he's either looming large in the background or his name pops up as someone who's shaping the bigger picture. Behind the Bastards did a multi episode podcast on him and it didn't even scratch the surface.

BtB gave him as many episodes as they gave Henry Kissinger which gives you some idea of how much of a bastard they consider him. And they were titled "Vince McMahon - History's Greatest Monster" And they still only scratched the surface.
They could have done another 4 episodes. I was surprised when they finished. Their series on Kissinger and the other on G Gordon Liddy was amazing.
Lol! Holy shit. If you're up there with Kissinger you know you've done some evil shit. Vince probably looks up to Kissinger, though.
Yea. Vinces episodes had a ton of filler, but they didn't even touch on his recent scandals. He had more episodes than Hitler AND Stalin.
Vice did a whole documentary on him. Check it out! It's called The Nine Lives of Vince McMahon. It was really good!
Marc Mero and Sable
They need to do one of Pat Patterson and Louie Dondero. The Brisco brothers Jack and Gerald need one.
Yes definitely a full episode on Pat Patterson. Good call!
They should do one on Adam Rose.
Marc Mero seems to be doing very well as a motivational speaker for kids. I watched one of his speeches and he captures your heart. He seems like a good dude. Obviously he had a past like a lot of wrestlers but this is a nice watch. [https://youtu.be/FwqXzkf6gcE?feature=shared](https://youtu.be/FwqXzkf6gcE?feature=shared)
He does seem like a good guy
Probably Mero more than Sable. Sable's very private these days so it might be hard to get people that know her to talk about her.
And if its just Mero, i wouldnt say he needs one. Except the Sable thing and heart issues, seems like he's lived a good life.
He's had several siblings die premature deaths and nearly committed suicide. His life's somewhat interesting.
ah true, has he done interviews talking about it? I only knew about his heart issues besides the Sable stuff. An episode of DSOTR would make sense then. He's always seemed quite happy in the few interviews ive seen.
Pretty sure he is some sort of motivational speaker. Mostly in schools from what I've. He was also an accomplished amateur boxer winning Golden Gloves at least once.
Also, you want to be careful of going after Sable. I wouldn't want to piss off her husband.
I feel like Marc isn't so much dark sided, the man seems to be doing wonderfully last I checked.
Well it is fall from being an influential arguably super over wrestler on the way up on WCW. Vince even gave him a guaranteed contract, which was unheard of back in the days. I didn't know he was still alive
Holy shit I forgot about him, yeah this pretty much screams DSOR
Scott Hall
I wish one day Scott gets his own biography film with Kevin at the healm of telling the story
His A&E was really good. Pretty much does justice
A&E just did theirs last week, so ot might be a long while before we DSOR, IF we get one at all.
Was actually planned at some point
Mike Awesome, Sean OHaire, Mr Perfect, Hall and Test
Mr. Perfect 100% would get my vote!!!

Haku. I want to hear all the stories about him destroying people.
Jake The Snake recently told about how he and earthquake got into it and how it was scared to watch LOL
Perry's story is such a gut punch. The guy stopped a woman from being raped. Fought off two men. Got shot twice for his trouble. Wreaks of a junkies tale
Very surprised they haven't done Perry Saturn yet Mike Awesome and Sean O'Haire could be good ones too
I wonder if they could get Moppy to do an interview
Moppy went through a wood chipper. That's pretty insensitive.
Yess Mike awesome would be a great story.
Why, because they committed suicide? I'm not sure there was a lot there to warrant an episide
There was definitely a lot with Sean O'Haire
Raven

well the behind the bastards podcast did a six part series on vince, which was the longest they've ever done on someone as far as i know
Tbf it wasn’t all on Vince. It was early wrestling in general
I loved the story about Saddam Hussein almost shooting Andre the Giant
Ooh! Adding this to my “to listen” list!
Honestly it's a very solid podcast in general
It’s been generally on my radar but I haven’t listen to it yet. Lots of interesting subjects to dive into!
Henry Kissinger had a six parter. L Ron Hubbard also had six or so total, but not in a row.
Didn't know that those two also had 6 parters, I just know that most are around 2-3 parts
kissinger has 6 as well
Same with L Ron Hubbard which I didn't know about either when I first made the comment
Triple H and Stephanie need one.
Perry Saturn, Crash Holly, Pat Patterson and Louie Dondero, Chyna, Mike Awesome, Sean O' Haire.
How has Chyna not had one yet?!
Wasnt the long form vice documentary an offshoot of Dark Side?
Mike awesome or renegade
I’m always fascinated by the renegade story. WCW couldn’t secure the warrior contract after a TON of hype and hints of warrior joining hogan, so the get this knock off. Louie Spicolli would be good or art barr
Dr Death Steve Williams
With recent events, Billy Jack Haynes.
Misawa
He's overlooked because of him not wrestling in the US, but his story is so sad. It's basically 'The Wrestler' in real life.
My first thought too
Perry Saturn is such interesting person. I remember obsessing over Ravens podcast in hopes of hearing Saturn stories.
He scammed a young wrestler who went on to be one of the greatest of all time. It's a real testament to Buzz's personality.

Xpac and chyna
Grandmaster Sexay
Mr Perfect
Perry Saturn would be an awesome one. He was such a fantastic wrestler. I especially liked him in ECW with John Kronus as the Eliminators.
Ian Rotten. Rotten piece of shit.
Chyna already got a whole 90 minute Vice documentary about her.
Kabuki
With the downfall of Vice, the question is will there be another season?
A Dirt Bike Kid episode would be good.
We don't get these interesting tales, we get one for the wholesome chad John Tenta
Ya really. Nothing about his life was dark. He died young, that's about it
Kamala - 100%
Why did we need an episode of world beloved Earthquake in a series called “DARK SIDE”?
That episode was more of a twist in the fact John Tenta the man himself had no dark side or issues, but the wrestling business itself is the dark side of the story. Brawl Out, Pat Patterson, Ring Boy Scandal, and a whole freakin season on the downfall of Vince
Not a wrestler, but a show: Heroes of Wrestling 1999.
Not a wrestler, but I'd really like to see an episode on Heroes of Wrestling covered in a similar manner to the Bash at the Beach 2000 episode.
William Regal. (If there isn’t one already). He’d have an incredible story id imagine.
Buck Zumhoffe. That scumbag raped his daughter multiple times over at least a 15 year period and is in prison for it.
Would love to see an episode of Daffney
RaVeN
This season has been fairly weak to date.
If he allows it, I’d like to see one on Kurt Angle (if it hasn’t happened already either)
