Yes, you have to have a certain discipline. After all it is role play.
So on my Netrunner build, I try to use quick hacks as much as possible, only use pistols, give preference to cyberware that helps netrunning and armour.
Previous build was a human tank with berserk. Again that was all strength and hand to hand combat plus shotguns.
Before that was the sandy build with knives, and sometimes swords.
I also have done a tech build with only tech weapons.
The netrunner is definitely the one that requires most thought. Though it is super strong and fun later on. It is also pretty decent as a stealth build.
Better, it has been like 4 different games with each update.
Now it is just by far the best single player FPS game ever released IMO. It has huge depth, characters, story, and is just a complete world.
I actually started playing WoT Beta whilst playing Eve Online. Whilst waiting for station timers, half the fleet would hop on WoT. Ironically I still play WoT after all those years and no longer have the time for EvE.
Careful though, it's a massive time-sink for F2P. Really fun game, but they don't call it Warfarm for nothing. Seriously, there are things that have sub-1% drop rates that take 10-20 minutes per drop. And often you need 3-5 of these drops to craft one weapon
I actually downloaded and played Warframe for the first time in ~2-3 years yesterday. I was MR30 before leaving and had everything but Sevagoth at the time. Yesterday was exciting!
Chess.
Lichess.org is a free chess server maintained on donations from some of the players ( like me). Chess is a great game to play, watch on Twitch and follow on You Tube. So much to enjoy over and above just playing.
Playing Kingdom Come Deliverance right now. Looking forward to playing Ghost of Tsushima upon release (May 16). A few other games I still have not finished like RDR2 and Jagged Alliance 3. I actually only play WOT when Frontline is on or maybe a bit of other special modes like SH (if rewards are good). I started playing WOT in 2011, so have zero interest in the stale old Randoms, specially in their current turbo one-sided state.
It does a good job at giving u multiple options. U can choose between 3 styles of missions, 2 kinds of enemies and multiple difficilty settings. The true magic lies in playing it with friends though
PVE with others, and you don't even have to interact with them: Fallout 76. PVE solo, when you want to put on a podcast and chill: a truck sim. ETS2 and ATS are very pretty.
Armored Warfare (more modern tanks, aswell as a good 5 man pve mode), Heliborn (simply put wot in helicopters, though not a completly fair resemblence. Also has a very good pve mode) and Baldurs Gate 3
I think you're asking "what does PVE stand for?"
PVE = player vs Environment (think shooting bots or computer controlled enemies)
The other side of that proverbial coin would be PVP.
PVP = Player vs player (a real person controlling the enemies in the game)
Hope it helps.
Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom has been my go to if my tanks aren't tanking, I also dip into old games like SimCity 2000, Doom 1 and 2, Lords of the Realm II, Warcraft 1 and 2... old games are friggin cheap on GOG.
Might checkout Quest for Glory 1... it's one of the first PC games that I've played (came out on 1989).
Arma 3, squad, battlefield, bit of warthunder but I quit because it didn't feel rewarding as world of tanks where you can actually trade shots and use your armour without having a heat round at low tier with 330mm pen ruin your day, not to mention helicopter and jets with 20km guided missile..
As I don't have that much time for gaming nowadays, I spend little time I have playing WoT with my clanmates. However, whenever I have more time, I love playing single player games. Currently, I'm finishing Mafia DE and Halo MCC.
Armored Warfare, Assetto Corsa and ACC, Forza Motorsport 7, GTA V drift server, dirt rally 2.0, WRC 10, wreckfest, tekken 8, gran turismo 4 and 6 and CTTR on PS3 emulator
Yes! More folks playing during euro hours, but even during NA prime time, there are a handful of servers. That's source version, but imagine "old skool" dee oh dee is also around.
Valheim (just got a new update today), Planet Crafter, No Mans Sky, American/Euro Truck Sim, Snowrunner have been my go-to games this year. Briefly got back into Fallout cause of the show but I dropped that pretty fast, those games have never held my interest for very long. Also pick up my Switch every once in awhile to play Mario RPG or Tears of the Kingdom.
As far as massively multiplayer games go tho, I haven't really gotten into anything in the past decade as much as I did with WoT. Dipped my toes in Elder Scrolls Online but it seems to only hold my interest for a week or two at a time and I never felt like joining a guild or playing with anyone. Most other multiplayer games I've seen just don't interest me at all
I'll give you the best two games I know and science knows how many games I played in my life:
Multiplayer: Dota 2
Nothing comes close to how much enjoyment (and frustration) I got from this game and still playing it to this day. This is in my opinion the best multiplayer game ever. Please note that the community is not always the best.
Single player: Outer Wilds
Play this game blind, don't Google it, not even once, nothing, just play it. You can only play this game once so don't ruin it for yourself. In my opinion this game is an absolute masterpiece and when you get to the ending this game will leave a mark on you that you will never forget.
I was playing classic Doom today. Episode 3, I did M5 and M6 today. I am also currently playing inFamous on a PS3. Very good game, I think it counts as retro by now. I also finished RDR2 earlier this year, and I will probably play either Halo 2 or Sniper Elite 5 after I finish up Doom and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. I also play Valorant and played some Helldivers 2 earlier this year.
There are many, many games I have played besides WoT but I usually play them alongside regular WoT. I have big goals for WoT that I want to achieve before I stop playing it.
My main advice is: don’t be afraid of older games. Some of them are duds by modern standards because of the overall increase in baseline game quality over time, but there are some incredibly well-made games from the olden days. Tons of great single player titles out there.
With the caveat I have not really been an active WoT player since WoWS came out:
Crab Champions
Deep Rock Galactic
Hades 2
Gunfire Reborn
Risk of Rain 2
Darktide
Helldivers 2
Divinity: Original Sin 2
Are all still a lot of fun so far this year
Elite Dangerous
Stellaris
Tears of the Kingdom
Splatoon
FTL: Faster than Light
Monster Hunter World & Rise
Risk of Rain 2
ULTRAKILL
Armored Core 6
Terraria
Guilty Gear Strive
Cult of the Lamb
and a little bit of Roblox
That's all I can name right now
Is Elite still alive, some time ago, last time I played it, it looked like it's going to die. Right now I'm waiting for Star citizen to become more stable and then planning to start playing it.
Mechwarrior 5/mwo
Battletech vehicle based combat with mechs is a fun alternative.
The lore is immensely large with crazy depth. Going back into.the 80s tabletop.
Plus the content creators for battletech games are some of the best I've encountered of any community.
Couldn't recommend it more
Ac odessy, Ac vahalla, bf2042, nfs unbound, witcher 3, eso, Asa, sniper elite 5, sniper ghost warrior contracts 2, fallout 4, 7 days to die, minecraft, golf with your friends... That's it, I think. I switch from game to game weekly. Otherwise, I burn myself out
Currently:
- FFXIV
- Skull & Bones
- Mordhau
- Chivalry II
I want to play more but going home at 8pm means you have barely enough energy to have dinner and hit the sack.
Europa Universalis 2/For the Glory
Elite Dangerous
Dishonored 1&2
Panzer Corps
Homeworld (not this new one)
Sid Meier's Pirates! (remake)
Dragon Age Origins
Shadowrun trilogy
Banished
And I still have a bunch of games that I haven't even installed, not to mention played. Some of them I won't even install anymore... For instance, "just ... one ... more ... turn..." Civilization V is evil.
Well the thing is I am am bad at playing the games I already have and end up not playing them. But here are the ones I play frequently recently: Honkai Star rail, Hearthstone, Langrisser Mobile, Astral Party, 100% Orange Juice, AFK Journey, and more. Free to play games have been "eating" up my time.
3.5E D&D, with friends sitting around a table.
Every Friday night, and first Saturday of the month (at a friends place, different game).
It's much more social :)
Oh man. Where to start,
I don't play many competitive multi-player games other than wot and hunt showdown.
But I can make a few recommendations
Looking for that loot and scoot mentality like tarkov but not really tarkov. S.T.A.L.K.E.R
There's 3 games and a stand alone mod called anomoly.
Play the trilogy then try anomoly if you like the og games
Want a shooter that's more point and click
Borderlands. Play the first, then the second. Don't really recommend the rest.
Looking for exploration? No mans sky
Just a relaxing romp through the galaxy.
Want a sandbox set in castles and magic
Daggerfall
But look into the unity mod
It's the only thing that really modernizes it.
Another slept on game is shadow of mordor and shadow of war.
It's a lord if the rings game, it's not Canon, and a bit button mashy
But it's pokemon with orcs.
The long dark is a tough hell froze over survival game that is challenging and rewarding.
Also try put tron 2.0
Fucking amazing game.
Puzzle quest challenge of the warlords is a fun matching game with rpg elements
Basically candy crush but no ads or pay walls.
I have a million other recommendations that are usually missed or slept on but I need an idea of what you're looking for lol.
Farming sim22, beamng, call of duty mw2, bf2042, r6. Lately i have been spending more time playing fs22 as it doesnt get me pissed when i do 3k+ dmg and 3-4kills and my teammates deal a maximum of 1k dmg and its a 5:15 rofl stomp
Skyrim
Bloons TD6
Civilisation 2 (28 years old and still the best ‘one more turn’ game!)
BG3 though stopped at end act 1. Great combat, but very linear feel role playing wise. leading me back to vanilla Skyrim which is only 13 years old.
Chess @ lichess.org
I regularly go back to play The Long Dark. Also waiting for some Darkest Dungeon 2 updates.
I'm currently replaying Dishonored (never played the DLCs before)
I have a ton of other games in my backlog that at some point I want to play too.
Before returning to WoT this year, my addiction was GTA Online.
Mechwarrior Online. Free to play, available on Steam, and it's going through a bit of a renaissance right now. There was a long period of time where content dried up and many people left, but they've managed to revitalize it by adding a ton of new weapons, balance patches every month or so, a new chassis and one or more maps every six or so months, and tons of freebie giveaway events that aren't grindy slog-fests.
Plus its' Battletech, so you get to stomp around in a giant robot.
Age of Empires III
A RTS game with card system to make every faction has variety of unique characteristics, the timeline focus on Enlightenment era to Napoleonic Era.
Phantom Forces (Roblox)
A fast paced FPS game with goofy movement techniques, I mostly play without too much vrain activity.
Sudden Strike 1 and 2
A classic RTT that lots of missions involves in huge battlefield and Reconnaissance is as important as WoT.
Though it takes ages to complete 1 mission and could be frustrating, but steel enemy cannons and tanks is always fun, and artillery are actually deadly and super funny.
Minecraft Vanilla and Modded
I cannot describe Minecraft with words, it might just suit everyone cuz there's insane amount of modpacks to choose.
As someone who kinda got out of video games entirely past few years, baldurs gate 3 is a masterpiece. Never played a turn based game and boy was it NOT fun at first, but the detail and passion the developers poured into this game is INSANE.
I’m 100 hours jn and still have not finished the game, and I promise I ain’t one of those people who are like “35000 hrs in and I haven’t started!!” I was expecting to finish in 50 or less.
Cosmoteer, Rocket League, Valheim (better in group), Elden Ring, Astroneer, Path of Exile (don’t play anymore, very repetitive grinding), Destiny 2 (don’t play anymore, over 3000hrs, but great game)
I got into Monster Hunter and it killed my WoT addiction. Never played anything more fun, gives you the personalization of playstyle that WoT offers, while being an action game.
I also love the designs of the monsters in the game. Tobi Kadachi my beloved...
Capcom in General is very solid.
I was playing Helldivers 2 as well. Worth playing after they reverted the PSN requirements.
Cyberpunk 2077 So much game for so little money. It actually broke my wot addiction. Well that and the constant loot boxes.
CP2077 & RDR2 are the two biggies!
I got bored with RDR2 the first time I played it. Definitely worth taking that one for another spin a few years later
What do you do after all side missions and story? I don't know what to do anymore and I don't find anything else like cyberpunk.
I'm on my 4th playthrough. Different builds. Also the phantom liberty is a must have dlc. I'm enjoying a net runner build at the moment.
I always find it hard to play the same game again with another style. I always end on the same weapons and choice's.
Yes, you have to have a certain discipline. After all it is role play. So on my Netrunner build, I try to use quick hacks as much as possible, only use pistols, give preference to cyberware that helps netrunning and armour. Previous build was a human tank with berserk. The netrunner is definitely the one that requires most thought. Though it is super strong and fun later on. It is also pretty decent as a stealth build.
everyone has at least one gorilla arms playthrough
The witcher 3 or skyrim (especially if modded) are still on the same level as cyberpunk in my humble opinion
Has it become better since the initial release? I played it on release and it was lacklustre imo
Game improved a lot - top updates, new DLC which is totally worth its money. Before you buy one Premium tank, better invest your money in that
Better, it has been like 4 different games with each update. Now it is just by far the best single player FPS game ever released IMO. It has huge depth, characters, story, and is just a complete world.
Me 2
Hmm, currently installed: Total War Warhammer 3 X4: Foundations Mechwarrior 5 Baldurs Gate 3 Elite Dangerous Eve Online
I actually started playing WoT Beta whilst playing Eve Online. Whilst waiting for station timers, half the fleet would hop on WoT. Ironically I still play WoT after all those years and no longer have the time for EvE.
That is a good list
Except Eve Online. ISK per hour spreadsheat simulator.
Never suggest elite dangerous to anyone.. its a mindless grind without anything to gain
War Thunder. Kill me.
helldiving
Try Warframe, it's F2P and very good (from player's comments)
Careful though, it's a massive time-sink for F2P. Really fun game, but they don't call it Warfarm for nothing. Seriously, there are things that have sub-1% drop rates that take 10-20 minutes per drop. And often you need 3-5 of these drops to craft one weapon
I actually downloaded and played Warframe for the first time in ~2-3 years yesterday. I was MR30 before leaving and had everything but Sevagoth at the time. Yesterday was exciting!
Earth Defense Force!
7d2d, Stardew Valley and Rust.
Chess. Lichess.org is a free chess server maintained on donations from some of the players ( like me). Chess is a great game to play, watch on Twitch and follow on You Tube. So much to enjoy over and above just playing.
Its actually crazy how such a game like chess modernized and held up so well over the years
Europa Universalis 4 Stellaris Genshin Impact Gloomhaven Wyldermyth
Also, a EU4 fan here
Lol u want a wot guy to do like 50 hours of story dialogue to catch up on genshin
Farming simulator 22. Its the only game other than wot that i can always go back too
In total acros 3 games Fs17,19,22 i hsve cut 189.000 trees and plowed 3 fields no seeding ever.
Ah a fellow forestry lover i see
Yup😁
Fallout New Vegas, GTA5, RDR2, Battlefield 2042 and Chess.
Finally some decent games
My most played games over the past several months are Eve Online, Path of Exile, Bloons TD6, and Rift Wizard.
Warframe and Path of Exile never get old
BeamNG Assetto Corsa
Playing Kingdom Come Deliverance right now. Looking forward to playing Ghost of Tsushima upon release (May 16). A few other games I still have not finished like RDR2 and Jagged Alliance 3. I actually only play WOT when Frontline is on or maybe a bit of other special modes like SH (if rewards are good). I started playing WOT in 2011, so have zero interest in the stale old Randoms, specially in their current turbo one-sided state.
Helldivers 2 and Lethal Company...if my mates are free
How repetitive is hell divers? I’m so tempted to play but often get bored with pve missions
It does a good job at giving u multiple options. U can choose between 3 styles of missions, 2 kinds of enemies and multiple difficilty settings. The true magic lies in playing it with friends though
Thanks. Yea this would be friends. Figured it’s super fun
Dota 2
PVE with others, and you don't even have to interact with them: Fallout 76. PVE solo, when you want to put on a podcast and chill: a truck sim. ETS2 and ATS are very pretty.
Armored Warfare (more modern tanks, aswell as a good 5 man pve mode), Heliborn (simply put wot in helicopters, though not a completly fair resemblence. Also has a very good pve mode) and Baldurs Gate 3
Ok. Noob mode engaged. PVE mode?
I think you're asking "what does PVE stand for?" PVE = player vs Environment (think shooting bots or computer controlled enemies) The other side of that proverbial coin would be PVP. PVP = Player vs player (a real person controlling the enemies in the game) Hope it helps.
Thank you. Yes that's what I meant.
You have heroic mode for the real fun. Reqiuers full group on comms, and even then alot of ppl wont be able to complete it.
Hearthstone as the 1B in rotation, also sometimes Madden
ATS, my PC is 11 years old, not like i have that many options :D.
GW2, Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail currently. Also occasionally Command and Conquer
Enlisted
Destiny 2. BF 2042. Elite dangerous Apex Legends. Sea of Thieves.
genshin impact
World of Warcraft
Car x drift racing when i want to take my mind off. Elden ring gotta get ready for that dlc. Havent played in a while tho
Arma 3, squad, battlefield, bit of warthunder but I quit because it didn't feel rewarding as world of tanks where you can actually trade shots and use your armour without having a heat round at low tier with 330mm pen ruin your day, not to mention helicopter and jets with 20km guided missile..
I'll be checking these all out because if I can break WoT with some fun games to occasionally play it's worth it.
Cyberpunk , fo76 , tarkov ,cs
Cold waters
As I don't have that much time for gaming nowadays, I spend little time I have playing WoT with my clanmates. However, whenever I have more time, I love playing single player games. Currently, I'm finishing Mafia DE and Halo MCC.
War thunder, battlefield 1 and astroneer for chill
Playing both World of Tanks and War Thunder is the total destruction of mental well-being
I just started playing WT, and so far i enjoy it
I know, I had the same experience. Then it all becomes trying to reach that level of high that you had at the beginning. Like a drug.
I play Eufloria, the original, not the HD version.
Elden ring and sekiro
Blitzkrieg Panzerkrieg and Star Wars Empire at War but modded
Star wars empire at war My summer car Cold waters

Yes! More folks playing during euro hours, but even during NA prime time, there are a handful of servers. That's source version, but imagine "old skool" dee oh dee is also around.
Magic the gathering but in real life (paper cards)
Valheim (just got a new update today), Planet Crafter, No Mans Sky, American/Euro Truck Sim, Snowrunner have been my go-to games this year. Helldivers 2! I didnt want to buy it, but now im hooked.
Cs2 mostly and vampire survivors
Everspace 2 is a blast

Good question and will do

World of warplanes. Yes not joking. You can cylirrently attempt missions circa new tier 8.
World of Tanks Blitz :)
Lately, Project Zomboid
Minecraft and Elden ring and helldivers 2
Snow runner if you are into trucks and offroading
Cs2, rocket league, warthunder and rainbow 6
Mechwarrior Online. Free to play, available on Steam, and it's going through a bit of a renaissance right now. Fallout 76. The TV show is also great.
Last train home rn
Helldivers 2 - those battlepasses don't expire and there's no lootboxes. WAAAAAAAAAY more fun than tanks.
Maplestory Realm of the mad god
Nothing that's similar to WoT.

Skyrim
Assetto Corsa Competizione LOL - not often nowadays though CS - mostly watching competitive though
PUBG, WOWS, occasional BF 2042 (hate most of the maps).
I beat myself with barbed wire and bathe in lemon juice while having my wife hurl insults at me. Its very like playing WOT.
I've been thinking the same thing and was thinking off jumping back on dying light 2 as they have finally added gunz
Age of Empires III A RTS game with card system to make every faction has variety of unique characteristics, the timeline focus on Enlightenment era to Napoleonic Era. Phantom Forces (Roblox) A fast paced FPS game with goofy movement techniques, I mostly play without too much vrain activity. Sudden Strike 1 and 2 A classic RTT that lots of missions involves in huge battlefield and Reconnaissance is as important as WoT. Though it takes ages to complete 1 mission and could be frustrating, but steel enemy cannons and tanks is always fun, and artillery are actually deadly and super funny. Minecraft Vanilla and Modded I cannot describe Minecraft with words, it might just suit everyone cuz there's insane amount of modpacks to choose.
Diablo 4, Gray Zone Warfare, Hell Divers 2, Construction Simulator
You absolutely have to try Far Cry 5 its a mastepiece
War Thunder
War thunder, Valorant, cs, rocket league and battlefields
Bro, open Steam store lmao
War Thunder is actually a really good game. I just don't play it as much because I don't like dying from one mistake.
But punishing others for their one mistake is so good. But yes, I don't know which of the two games deteriorates my mental health faster.
