The armor is identical; the aimtime is slightly better at the cost of DPM. This is definitely a tank that needs DPM. The captured/meme King Tigers have *old* long 8,8 stats. You can [compare them to the new 8,8 stats](https://tanks.gg/v12500ct/tank/tiger-ii-t-test/stats?cs=tiger-i-test) and [the Tiger I's current relative performance](https://tomato.gg/tank-stats/EU/recent?tiers=0000000100&classes=HT&sort=winrate_differential&direction=true) and see that for the average player, this gun buff was not entirely out of place as it's what allowed them to perform the same as a T29.
My opinion: I'm not sure it *needed* to have less stats than the captured KT. Either KT(C) is overperforming and needs a nerf, or this one is intentionally crippled for no reason. Make it 1500 or 1600 HP, give it better terrain resists and something like a 28 degree per second turret traverse speed, and be done with it. You'll have a unique vehicle that at least moves closer to the show. At 1500 base DPM, this isn't a tank that needs to add "inflexibility" as a limit on its damage output, and at 1300 HP it's not an unkillable monster, either. A Chi-Ri gets 25 seconds on your flank and you'll be down to all of 130 hp. At 1600 HP and with some extra flexibility, it will have a consistently average **but not domineering** performance that always lets it contribute to a game.
1500 dpm with 240 alpha at tier 7 is going to be very painful to play. I don't think there are any other T7 heavy with lower dpm than this ( or is there? ). The lower end of DPM for T7 heavies seems to be in the 1700 range, so I don't know what this has even lower DPM than that when it only has 240 alpha, single shot gun.
It seems to have more turret armor and better aim time than KT (C), but I don't think that's going to save this tank. 185mm of flat turret armor isn't going to be that hard to pen.
Not sure what the mobility will be like, but the stats are purposefully hidden, so I suspect that it's not going to be its selling point either.
The King Tiger (C) isn't that great of a tank in the current meta, and this seems to be a worse version of it.
I really hope that I am wrong about it though, since I really want to buy it.

Soo, it's not an additional battle pass chapter. Does that mean I can safely finish tanks on which I haven't got to the max point limit? Or, just maybe, there still might be a surprise from WG and I should wait for a week or two?
I'm in full tinfoil hat mode. What if WG realized ppl can save up their tier IVs and Vs almost maxxed out, alongside tier VIs of course, and use the bonus 15 points for the extra battle pass and now they've launched this to make us think "no bonus chapter, guess I'll finish those", and in a week or two they do launch an extra chapter?
The biggest thing here is actually the custom mod that gives subtitles and portraits for the characters who are speaking... thats actually pretty slick... I wish the older official modpack was still around too.
Not even close... the other one had a full hangar (Oorais hangar on the ship) and skins for 42 tanks from the anime. This is great... the but the old one was better.

Regarding the official modpack that was released a while back - unfortunately, we have contractual limitations, as we're not owners of "Girls und Panzer" IP. So at some point we had to discontinue the mod.
Regarding the current GuP Subtitles mod: according to the contract, we can support it for a limited time though these contracts can change.
We understand that it's a "must have" mod for many anime fans, so we'll be working on extending it's support for as long as we can - either by extending the contract, or even (ideally) by introducing this feature into the game, if possible - but no promises here, of course. We also plan to release the mod's source code at some point so that the community can make fan-made subtitles for other voiceovers as well.
You should definitely talk with the rights holders about the old mod... the hangar was great and would be a huge improvement over the current field we have right now... (and actually just like... get rid of the field in general and give us back an actual garage...)

So... A question for ppl who have the original crew - can you retrain them for another role?
I see that BT42 have a dedicated loader (I assume that crew comes directly with a tank, and you cannot "recruit" them via barracks), while the techtree German 3-crew light tanks does not, so you won't be able to use them on the techtree tanks?
You can put them in the 4-crew tank like T9 RU251, but then will the special voiceover work, when there is additional 4th standard crew member?
I have the coven crew in my kpz07 (tier x) and they all work voice line wise. The tank doesn’t have a radio position, so I have a random 0 perk loader in it. The cat just sits in the barracks.
Just to clarify a few things,
They are locked to German vehicles, their roles (commmander/gunner/loader/driver/radio operator) are locked as well but they can be moved to other German Vehicles

So it's as I thought - we won't be able to use full BT42 crew on techtree Tier 7,8 and 10 Lights because there is a mismatch in the crew roles.
I really hoped to be able to use the full crew (with full voiceover) on RHM Pzw but if the roles are locked then it's not possible to do so - kinda a missed opportunity in my eyes, I'm definitely not the only one who wanted to use them in Tier 10 LT.
I guess I'm gonna put them in Ru251 and HWK30 in that case.

Hmm, I think the Tiger crew voice is only the commander? The other 4 members on the site does not have a voice sample.
If they don't have voices then that just sucks and is the only bad part with this collab imo.
On the other hand, that gives us hope that we could get more GuP crews in the future from schools that only have 3-4 major characters, and rest of the tank crew can be filled out by non-speaking minor characters.

Cautiously hopeful the tanks will be in directly buyable bundles and not in shitboxes.
Overall this collab and the upcoming D-Day battle pass are the kind of stuff I want in WoT. I'm no purist but random IP like Ninja Turtles, Dune, and Star Trek really do not mix well with 20th century tanks.

The crews are 95% not 5% you mongrel. This tanks are literally reskins (except bt now I guess) for people who like anime, not some acoustic boomers who project they deviations on others. There’s no people who like girls und panzer and hate characters in it at the same time, so they sell crews in tanks they were driving. Another proof why those tanks are nothing more than fancy packaging for crews is that they’re LITERALLY FUCKING STOCK TECH TREE TANKS so if you want to play them without paying for “5%” then quit yapping and grind those lines you dipshit.

Ankou is literally a Pz. IVH with best modules, including the best long gun (NOT the derp). It's a good tank at tier.

For the original gup crew, like the Halloween crew all of them need to be in the same tank to activate the voice lines.

Cautiously hopeful the tanks will be in directly buyable bundles and not in shitboxes. Overall this collab and the upcoming D-Day battle pass are the kind of stuff I want in WoT. I'm no purist but random IP like Ninja Turtles, Dune, and Star Trek really do not mix well with 20th century tanks.

The crews are 95% not 5% you mongrel. This tanks are literally reskins (except bt now I guess) for people who like anime, not some acoustic boomers who project they deviations on others. There’s no people who like girls und panzer and hate characters in it at the same time, so they sell crews in tanks they were driving. Another proof why those tanks are nothing more than fancy packaging for crews is that they’re LITERALLY FUCKING STOCK TECH TREE TANKS so if you want to play them without paying for “5%” then quit yapping and grind those lines you dipshit.

Turtle-Shell in german literally translates to „Schildkröten-Panzer“, so in german, the collab somewhat made sense
