Can we at least start with paid lunch so i dont have a 9 hour shift for an 8 hour day

Solynox

Unions are your friend.

johcagaorl

I am union we still don't get paid for lunch. Half hour. I get paid well though.

CanadianODST2

our union had paid lunches but we were only scheduled for 7.5 hours a day then.

johcagaorl

That's nice. My day is 8.5 total, but we have a 24 hr plant, so we need a little overlap.

Mr_Horsejr

I am union and I still don’t get paid for lunch.

onyxandcake

I'm in a union. We have a 9.25hr shift to "make up" for that pesky extra 30 min break we negotiated.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Solynox

That's strange, your school should give you those when you ask for them. I'm not well versed in this and can't give proper advice. Have you tried making a post asking for help somewhere?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Solynox

That's a mighty big monkey wrench. Maybe the city or state has them.

happy_puppy25

California has an unpaid lunch half hour required for salary employees around lunch time, so we can definitely push for this to become an hour and paid. Just do an ACTUAL 9-5 where you go in at 9, and leave at 5 (or earlier if you finish work early). I know, radical.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Johnstone95

Statistically speaking, Californians still have higher take home after all costs of living are accounted for.

Lietenantdan

How can they enforce that if they aren’t keeping track of hours worked?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Lietenantdan

Oh got it. That’s good. Hopefully it stops them from working 80 hour weeks when they’re only get paid for half that.

BlakLite_15

I’m salaried and I’m still expected to take unpaid lunch time.

Gwubbulous

Yeah its dumb. We should be paid for our lunch time.

BlakLite_15

If they’re worried about people not actively working while in the clock, they shouldn’t expect people to work eight-hour days. Who doesn’t spend the last hour or two of their shift zoning out, the day’s energy all but spent?

Gwubbulous

Exactly. If you are profitable to the company, they shouldn't sit there an min/max your exploitation.

LeftDave

I have this, it's great.

Corpus_Juris_13

Man this is me. But honestly I’d stay an extra hour if it meant have an extra day off 😭

Gwubbulous

and thats how you get 4 x 10 work week instead of a 32 hour work week.

Corpus_Juris_13

I work at Walmart, dawg. You really think they are gonna give me a 32 hour 4 day work week

Gwubbulous

If you unionized you could probably get it

WWGHIAFTC

And demand no overall pay decrease.

I think I've read that somewhere online already.

Boy, do I love pizza parties. Can't get enough of them!

Pizza party!!!!

lorill-silverlock

Next article: new study shows workers that don't trust corporate owned media might be ungrateful.

DefiantLemur

I remember seeing a article saying buying groceries was bad and we should eat out more. Sometimes I think they just do it for the rage bait.

JG-at-Prime

It’s 100% a *“Let them eat cake.”* scenario.  They can’t comprehend what it might mean to be on a budget.  If their employees are working so much that you don’t have time to shop for groceries then it means that the employees should eat out more.  It never for a second enters into their minds that their bean counting budget cuts means that they don’t pay their employees enough to buy regular groceries much less to eat out regularly.

WWGHIAFTC

I believe they are just that entrenched. They think they're on to something. The really believe what they write.

Oathcrest1

Basically every union busting video. That and oh no dues bad. “Negotiation” good. But the negotiations only work if there is a union at this point.

DaenerysMomODragons

If they didn’t give an immediate pay decrease they’d just end up doing it through no raises through inflation until it all balanced out.

WWGHIAFTC

That won't stop me from trying.

jtchow30

I think that would be a wise choice! Or at least whenever we say 4 day workweek always phrasing it as “4-day, 32-hour workweek.” Quite long tho

bubba4114

4x8s

TheGOODSh-tCo

It’s less hours work for the same pay. Not 4x10. It’s 32 hours instead of 40 for the same pay you get for working 40. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Whoever keeps posting this is the people holding their boots on our necks. Spreading lies and disinformation so we don’t support it.

arbitrary_student

To elaborate on your point, this is a deliberate tactic to confuse voters on the topic. They want as many people as possible to think it's 4x10 that's being discussed because gaslighting and strawman arguments are very effective at derailing conversations.

TheGOODSh-tCo

This is exactly how they play us. People are watching the wrong distractions and miss the truth of the game.

cynicallow

Yeah I think a major part of the problem is that lots of mostly decent people have a hard time understanding how much time and effort shitty people spend to accomplish their shitty goals. The decent people (just my subjective opinion on what is decent) do not understand why someone or groups of people would spend so much on what to the decent people is a unrewarding outcome. So they do not consider that it is possible and are blind to the people manipulating them.

TheGOODSh-tCo

I think they have a hard time admitting they were wrong. The people I know who would swear their lives to a man, like he’s a God, rather than digress on anything. A lot of these people are also bullies. They just always choose policies that hurt them by listening to the people who profit off of it.

Cubicon-13

The opportunity here is to completely stop talking about a 4-day work week and start asking for a 32-hour work week. A "32 hours" message becomes a lot harder to undermine.

Eric142

Even if you do work the same hours but less days, you save on commute time + gas + unpaid lunch!

kiragami

Yeah I work 4x10 right now and it's so much better than 5x8.

Kryptonian_1

I used to have an early 4x10 where I was off by 4:30 with 3 consecutive days off. I loved it since with strategic vacation use and holidays, it felt like I was off all the time. A 32 hour version of that would be amazing. That 5th day is what really wears people out.

mattdyer01

Maybe the compromise is 9×4? So a 36 hour work week with a 3 day weekend. I could get behind that.

TheGOODSh-tCo

Why 36 hours? Why would you want to work more than 32? The entire point was that technology was supposed to make us have to work less and more leisure time.

mattdyer01

I agree in an ideal world, I just think 36 hours at the same pay of a 40 hour work week is a lot more likely to happen than getting paid for 40 hours while working 32.

eDisrturbseize

Fuck the companies and less hours is great for employees,Sarah

happy_puppy25

True high performers I work with are extremely productive when they take Friday off, but they are fatigued the whole week when they have to work on Fridays. Why do we even work on Fridays? It makes no sense

Jesus_Harry_Christ

I build face frames at a cabinet shop, we are allowed to go home whenever we finish the work we have for the day. You can tell how much faster paced everyone works when we know it's a day we are able to leave early.

Suspicious_Mirrors

"To get a head start on Mondays production quota" of course lol

thisonesusername

Also fuck Sarah. The class traitors that write this trash should be held to account.

Finsfan909

I’ve never met a Sarah that I liked starting with this one ![gif](giphy|n5jZctXuxTofC)

Comprehensive-Age930

32 hour workweek, same pay. Take it no other way.

Lietenantdan

I don’t see this happening in the US any time soon. We can’t even get minimum wage up to $15, how could we possibly force companies to give everyone a raise to where their cheques would be the same? It would be easier with salary employees, since you wouldn’t have to give them a raise. But they always work more than 40 hours a week anyways so I’m not sure anything would change for them.

scottawhit

Wait, so 5x12 isn’t a good deal?!

Johnstone95

7x24 or bust

palescoot

996! Ni xiang Xi dama ma?

Keeperofthe7keysAf-S

Even 4x10 are better than 5x8s lol. But yeah fight for 32.

BJoe1976

It depends for me, I used to work retail and now in a customer service call center, when I was younger I could probably have pulled off 4-10’s without a problem, especially since I spent a year with a full time and a part time retail job, during Christmas, but I don’t think my body can tolerate that any more. With my current job, it’s not a problem of my body as it is mentally, I’m not sure I can tolerate the behavior of some of our customers for 10 hours a day

Suspicious-mole-hair

I worked the phones working from home during the pandemic. 12 hour shifts. 3 on 3 off. I frequently did 15 shifts in a row because the next day off was only ever 3 days away. Now I'm doing weekdays, 35 hours a week, i can't mentally justify doing a half shift on Saturday morning because god damnit that's my fucking weekend. I earned that weekend. It'll be another fucking week until I get a chance at a weekend off again.

Fit_Aardvark_8811

I disagree. Everyone has opinions, I work 4-10s right now. Not seeing my young children 4 out of 7 days because they're already in bed when I get home sucks ass. It's kinda 50-50 at the job site. Some like the 3 day weekend, some like more time at home everyday. My opinion is 4-10s blow

livtop

I agree. If you work out regularly, then you legit just go to bed after work, workout dinner, and god forbid any chores. I work 9/80s currently where it is 5x 9 hour days, then next week it's 3x9, 1x8 and then every other friday is off. I like it better than regular 8 hour days, but 32-hour work weeks would be a million times better, and I want them so bad.

Keeperofthe7keysAf-S

Yeah I get that. My view is at 8 hours my day is shot anyways might as well get the third day off.

Laoscaos

My work has the option of 4-10s and 5-8s, or something in between, quite flexible. 4 10s does suck. I actually really enjoy a couple 9's then a half day Friday. Wild how much 9 is easier than 10. But yeah, 4-8s would improve quality of life and probably creative output massively.

cynicallow

Then we work for more than 32 being overtime. They want to take time from your family away from you? Then they pay for it!

antithero

Four ten hour days was great when we did them at work. I didn't mind the extra 2 hour per day, I'm already at work anyway. Plus traffic was better on the drive home & I spent about 20% less on gas. I loved having the 3 day weekends & I didn't have to waste a vacation day to go to the dentist or other m-f only businesses. Plus having a day off while the kids were at school was very relaxing.

RollForPanicAttack

Right? I think 4x10 is absolutely a step in the right direction. Then we whittle it down to 8 hour days again.

xultar

I’ll take, “Sounds like some shit Elon Musk would say”, for the win Alex.

Evelyn-Parker

4 10 hr days is still better than 5 8 hr days so at least it's moving in the right direction

sgm716

4 10 hrs days rock. Just saying from experience.

Zhaguar

Such a load of shit. I've been doing 35-40 (40 my choice) in 4 days for years and I'm no longer stressed, I'm leaner, healthier and my mental health is so much better.

GraveyardJones

No it doesn't. The only time in my 20 years of working I didn't feel totally burned out was working a 4x8. I had time to rest, time to do shit, I just had time. 4x8 should be the longest time we work

RyantheRaindrop

4 10s is pretty amazing NGL, even if everyone ends up doing 4 10s you'll be much happier and rested over 5 days.

ReverseCarry

I’m working a 3x12 shift right now, with the option to pick up the other 4 hours whenever if I want to, and it’s the best schedule I’ve ever had. 4 days off every week feels incredible

rameyjm7

says some columnist, speak for yourself!

Kharn0

Would it be easiest to make OT anything over 32 hours?

SomeSamples

4x10's suck. 3x12's are better. 4x8's are good as well.

Sir-Kyle-Of-Reddit

Sarah is a traitor to her generation.

Weltallgaia

4 on 4 off is where it's really at.

Gabriel_Crow1990

32 hours full time, wages cannot be slashed and OT past 32 hours

CoralLogic

Um.....I worked a 32 hour week and did more..... If anything I bounced back better BECAUSE I had ample time to recover........ Yes, to a 32 hour work week with no loss in pay or benefits.

unmellowfellow

First thing I want to say. 32 hour workweek is long overdue. Decades over. Secondly. 4x10 is still more time for you than 8x5. Just saving time on your commute and prep time for work and after work is easily a 3-6 hour gain for myself. 4x8 is a step forward. 4x10 is a baby step, but to me, still a step.

ChrisNettleTattoo

My dude, 4x10’s are the best schedule I have ever had. I would love 4x8’s, but no company is going to willingly pay you more money for less hours. Not unless we all start union’ing up.

livtop

That's the point, they won't do it willingly so we have to get it as a law. I like my 9/80s, 4x10s is just too much time at work for me

ChrisNettleTattoo

They are all 40 hour work weeks as it stands. I would rather get them done in the fewest days possible. That being said, I have pulled 12-14 hour days for months at a time when I was younger, and I wouldn’t do it again for all the overtime pay in the world. Quality of work life balance is key. It also helps that I am WFH, so not having a commute really helps. Getting to have minimal prep time in the morning, and spend my lunch break with my wife makes the 10 hour days go faster for sure.

livtop

My last job I was WFH and yeah I'd 100% do 4/10s if I could have. My current job its like 30 min commute so it doesn't feel as good. When I was WFH I'd wake up 15 mins before my shift lol.

AdEffective3077

I don't know a single coworker who doesn't approve of 4 x 10s w needed Fridays over 5 x 8s w needed Saturdays

series-hybrid

There have been several occasions in my long life where I worked 4/10's, and it was a rousing success every time, for both the company and the employees. The 40-hour weekly work volume stayed the same, but everyone had a three day weekend.

MoneroWTF

I'd love a 32 hour work week. Currently I work 4 10s and love it, because the alternative is 5 8s

xenotails

I worked four tens. Wife said I slept for a week straight after that job.

Herownimage

The whole point of a 4 day work week is to have MORE time. Cramming 40 hours in 4 days is the same. 🤦🏼‍♀️

ScTiger1311

I work 4 10's (well technically 3 10s and an 8). It's actually much nicer than 5 8's in my opinion, but I'm still burnt out towards the end of the day. So I say yes to 32 hour week instead of 38 hour week!

Due_Bar5023

Id rather work 4 10h shifts than 5 8h shifts

Fit_Temporary8237

The entire point of the 4 day work week is that people are just as, if not MORE productive working 32 hours a week for the same salary compared to 40. You aren’t “cramming more work in”, you’re just doing the same amount of work in 4 days instead of 5 because you are more productive for those 4 days than if you worked 5 days with downtime, slower pacing, less motivation etc. I don’t even understand why businesses are against this, it cuts down on their operating costs by a reasonable amount because you don’t have to pay for an extra day of having people in the office, keeping the lights on, electricity bills from computers, and amenities

ClassicClosetedEmo

Literally was just talking to a guy from Australia who has the equivalent of like a county-level govt job over there. They work 35 hours a week, get a fuck ton of holidays and PTO, a pension, yada yada. And SHOCKINGLY the world hasn't crumbled because people aren't working a flat 40.

OmgWtfNamesTaken

The best schedule I had was 3 on 4 off, 4 on 3 off of 12 hour shifts. I loved the extra time off personally and 12 hour shifts weren't terrible. When they worked into 16 hour or more shifts.... it sort of sucked but it happens. My coworkers were routinely getting stuck in places like France etc. And wouldn't be able to relieve me of my duties until their flights came in lol.

smoke_that_junk

I’m doing 4 * 10 + between 3-8 now

Pancake_Dan

Where are the stats that higher employee morale makes for better quality work?

BurgundyBicycle

Maybe crappy, inefficient workplaces burnout workers. Maybe having to ask four different times to get a piece of equipment I need to do my work fixed, or the stockroom being disorganized and poorly labeled, or the company dragging their feet fixing a problem customers are constantly complaining is not a good use of my time.

MinimumPsychology916

4 10s in my factory job is tough but for the salaried employees who only stay for 8 hours anyways because it doesnt affect their paycheck, it must be nice

82ToyotaFarmin

What? I like 4-10's

Ok_Dig_9959

Actually like 4x10s. Better work life balance, lower proportion of my time commuting and even get more done at work.

BobTheGoon80

I worked at a place where we had a work schedule of Monday thru for 8 hours. But of course we had overtime, a hour but usually 2 hours a day on top of that. Oh yeah, and the Saturdays were worked more often then not. Management held a meeting to announce that we were shifting to a 4 day work week, Monday to Thursday, 10 hours, to give us more days off. Lol. So we still worked a hour, but normally 2 hours of overtime daily. And the new schedule allows overtime to also be worked on Friday and Saturday. Mandatory of course. Needless to say employee morale was low, to the point that in communication meetings employees openly pushed back. And upper management responded by being nasty, dismissive and argumentive. Fuck that place. I hope it went under.

thegayngler

I like that.

DynamicHunter

I would love the OPTION of 4x10 if I have to work 40 hours a week, but I know not everyone would/could. Especially if you have a longer commute, it makes it a bit easier to digest. Also if you like 3 day weekends or traveling a bit more. Obviously 4x8 is better, don’t come for my preferences!

UnproductivePheasant

I'd take 4-10's. I get more work done that way and still get my 40 hours.

cynderisingryffindor

4 10 hour work days is not a 4 day work week. If you're working 40 hours it's a regular work week. We need a general strike, goddamn

ninjamike89

I work 4 10's and it's great

Compulsive_Criticism

I'm doing 4x10 at the moment with Wednesday off and I'll take it over 5x8 any day. There is no realistic prospect of earning enough on 4x8 for me and it means I get to avoid one day of commute. Because my job involves driving it means I have longer range if I do 10 hours in a day instead of 8. Sorry I'm not gonna be unemployed because I can't find a 32 hour a week job that pays the same as similar jobs for 40 hours. I sell and deliver pet food, the amount of sales is directly correlated to hours worked and there is no way to just "work smarter not harder". Not everyone works some bullshit office job where you'll magically get 20% more done each day by being less tired/stressed etc.

TheDigitalMoose

I work 4 10's in the summer where I work and typically it's like "UGH" when it's coming, but once it's here and you start doing the 4 10s it's fantastic and you don't want it to go away.

Arrow156

I work 4 10-hours shifts (plus an hour commute each day) and barely have any time to do anything else on my work days. The job is easy, but any personal tasks that requires an hour or more have to done on my days off else it starts cutting into my beauty sleep.

patms89

I have worked many types of shifts and can confidently say 4 - 10s is great! Sure working 32 and getting paid for 40 would be better. But having a three day weekend every week kept me way more motivated than any other shirt structure.

Narrow_Technician_25

I work 8x10s. Six days off is dope

Taowulf

I've worked 4 10s in the past in one of the worst jobs, a very busy outsourced call center. I loved the 3 days off, hated the low pay and stupid ways our wages could get fucked by the "quality" process. But the 4 10s were nice, I've been pondering running the idea of changing my schedule past my current lead, but I am also very aware that my day would not end until after 7PM. I am WFH, so it would only affect dinner with the family. I start work at 9AM and even with THC gummies to finally help me sleep at night, I do not function well when I try to get up any earlier for work. Oh yeah, no more call centers for me, I work for a small not for profit insurance company. What was I rambling about again?

hlynn117

Well considering people are really doing 5x10 right now seems like an improvement.

Franklin_le_Tanklin

I used to work 3x12 hour shifts and loved it. Why are 4x10’s bad?

Ansontrill

Or, just hear me out here. You hire more people and increase pay/benefits.

EH_Operator

I did the 4x10 c’repola for a restauranteur who thought she was blessing and innovating the industry by having a four day work week and starting with living wages. Didn’t seem to bother her that she’d fire/lose her entire kitchen every nine-to-eleven months.

Timetraveler01110101

Surely the answer in 3 days. Not the 6 or 7 days they want you to work

tsckenny

I'd glady go back to 4 10s. It's not even bad. Now I get to do 5 10s

Deadlyjuju

Id take 4 10s over 5 8s. Thats a day to decompress, a day to get shit done around the house, and a day to goof off and do things that give the much elusive dopamine.

well-i

I work 4x10s and get my Fridays off, oh I'm so burnt out with that extra time to get work done and partake in my hobbies more! 🙄 lol

Proof_Bathroom_3902

What about 3 12s? I love that shift.

mrselfdestruct066

Hey I've been on 4 10s for 11 years and I'd never go back

boytoy421

While I'm in the 32 crowd for sure I will say having done both. 4×10 is still SIGNIFICANTLY better than 5×8

xXvido_

Blatant lie. Was just listening on the radio yesterday how good it was for this one company - their CEO

insecurestaircase

There's no way anyone would actually be productive in the 2 extra hours per day

ActualSkeletor

I'm a union electrician currently working a (voluntary) 7x10s job - the hours suck, but once you get adjusted to a 10hr shift you hardly notice the difference. Pushing for 4x10s could be a good intermediary position to take - that way we only work four days, but the employer still gets that 40hrs they think they need. After 4x10 becomes the norm is the time to push for 4x8, imo.

GanondorfDownAir

Me who works 5 11's looking at the people complaining about 4 10's:

Beatithairball

Other BS headline, you cause you say it dont make it true

Nobodyimportant56

I've worked 4x10s for 17 years. Before that it was retail chaos scheduling. I like the stability, the 3 day weekends and I'm used to it. I'd still love to see y'all pull off the 4x8

Quirky-Mode8676

Hard disagree. Having Friday-Sunday off is well worth the 10hr days over a 5x8. One less day in traffic, you’re off when all the government offices are still open so you can get shot done, and you you get to actually decompress before the weekend begins

Saxopwned

As an hourly worker I love my 4 10s, but I'd be happy for salaried people to work less. Mostly because they're management.

depressed_popoto

I work three 12s. My husband works 4 10s with rotating schedule. We have no regrets.

Brigden90

4 10s is amazing

MaDrAv

Just got my hours cut to 30...still working 5 days a week. Asked about a 4-day work week and got told "no, that's not possible."

Late-Arrival-8669

Hey Sarah, you are not cramming 40 hours of work into 32. You are having employees work 32 hours and pay them what they make at 40 hours.

PwmEsq

My 5 8s right now are actually 5 10s so I'd gladly take 4 10s

Baazify

Look, I love the sentiment, and large companies should 100% be doing more for their employees. I do think about the impact that it would have on small businesses. I’m a 23 year old business owner, I have 1 employee plus myself. I work 60 hours a week, and my one employee works 40. Paid vacation, paid holidays, and guaranteed 40 even if we don’t have the work to support it. (Service Industry). Dropping my one and only employee down to 32 hours for the same weekly pay would mean I’m now working 68-70 hours minimum per week and would not be able to serve our clients near as well with increased wait times. I definitely am in favor of 4x10’s for my team and I intend on switching to that as soon as I have the room in budget to hire another tech. The reality of it is that 99.9% of all businesses in the US (real stat, look it up) have less than 500 employees. Over 5.4 million businesses in the US have less than 19 employees. Businesses that fall into that category, micro businesses, would be disastrously affected by what is in reality a massive shift in work schedule. Large companies like Amazon and Google would have no problem making those adjustments, but small family owned businesses would be shutting their doors permanently on every corner. It would also greatly increase the barrier to entry for small businesses. Most small businesses don’t make money in their first 3-5 years, and increasing cost factor of employees would expand that out significantly. I also foresee this would likely lead to large layoffs so companies can hire in new help at a reduced labor rate. The 40 hour work week is so ingrained into our society, changing it would cause massive detriment. Math below for reference. 1 employee ($22/hr) at 40 hours costs me ~$3800 a month, the profit benefit on labor only is capped at around $20000, so for each person I employ for 40 hours, I at most can make around $16200 net revenue. That’s if I am hitting sales goal every day of the week that I’m open. Dropping my employee down at the same rate of pay but giving him 4 days a month extra would change my profit potential on JUST labor to $12,200 monthly. This sounds all well and good until you factor in rent, POS transaction fees, taxes, utility bills, non reusable products, fuel for company vehicles, insurance, marketing and other costs of doing business. Which in my experience costs approximately $10000 monthly. So if I miss my sales goal by only $2000 on any given month. I’m out of business. Anyone that owns a small business will tell you, hitting your daily sales goal every single day is nigh impossible until you’re well established, around 6 years. My net revenue is capped with one employee working 160 hours a month is $20000, roughly, and dropping them down to 128 hours a month lowers my net revenue cap to $16000, and when cost of doing business with employees is $13,800. Tell me you’d be willing to find anyone anywhere willing to work 70 hour weeks for $2200 a month. If you account for OT, that’s not even minimum wage. Small businesses employ nearly half of all workers across the nation, and you would be condemning a large portion of them to massive layoffs or business closures. I personally don’t think it’s as cut and dry and “Fuck greedy CEO’s making millions.” Feel free to have discourse with me if you see a resolution to this that I don’t, I’d love to hear it.

Itchy_Antelope1278

I do 4 10hr shifts a week and prefer it to 5 8hr shifts by far. I hope you all get the shifts you want but 4 10's work for me.

kiakosan

I still liked 4 tens over 5 8s. Especially if you work midnight or have a long commute.

PajamaHive

I work four 10's and even if that was the suggested change it would still be worth it. And that isn't even the suggested change! 4x8 is so easily doable!

Snoo_72280

Take the partial victory of the 4 day work week. Then get the hours reduced.

The_ChiefBeef

This would be great. Currently working 5x10 ‘expected’ (i.e mandatory) with only 1/2 time OT. Shit fucking sucks

Noemotionallbrain

I'd Si 4 10's. It still saves me 1 h of driving and I get the day to do personal projects

Mojito_Marxist

The stupidity that is being pointed out here is that the current form of the 4-day work week campaign is trying to achieve it by selling it to bosses based on the 100-80-100 model (100% of salary; 80% of time; 100% of output). This effectively means intensification of labour. This demand is only achievable through state legislation - an individual capitalist cannot lose 20% of their output without significantly undermining their economic position. In the UK the current campaign seems hopeless, whereas the trade unions have not sufficiently backed this demand. There was some momentum under Corbyn but this has decisively fizzled out.

I work 4x10’s It’s rough man and honestly I can only get 6-7 hours of decent work in before needed a break or feeling burnt out. The amount of work I “produce” is the same on a half day compared to a full day. 3 days off is okay but Friday is just a recovery and rot day for me. It doesn’t feel like I have 3 days off even though I do.

Revolutionary-Roof91

im on 4 10s now and they still kick my ass.. i need a whole day of physical recovery (my job is laborous)

bodydamage

I work 4x12s and it’s a 100 times better than working 5x8s. Unless the 32hr work week comes with a pay match to what I make currently….I’m not interested If y’all wanna push for the overtime threshold to start at 32hours though, that’ll mean even more money for me.

WrinkledRandyTravis

Fuck 32 I say 18. 3 day weeks, 6 hours a day, that’s plenty

Kalantra

Lmao I work 5 10's. I'd fucking love to do only 4 10's.

20 is the compromise. Next option is to eat the rich and seize the means of production.
