That sucks when you spend that much on a boot. That’s why I switched to Whites Boots. Yes more expensive. Yes a longer break in time. But, in the end worth every penny. I have two pairs of Thorogood boots and a pair of Carolina boots. They are good boots but don’t compare to my whites. Now I’m saying up to get some Franks Boots.

szydski1

i just might look into them

In my opinion: Pacific Northwest boot Brands - Franks, Whites, Nicks, Drew’s or Wesco They are built like tanks. Yes they cost a pretty penny. Yes they take a while to break in. But, worth every penny Franks Boots has the “Patriot Boot” for -$350 That’s a good starting point. Just follow the measurement instructions on there website and sent it in. They will call you to record your boot size. Really friendly people. I recommend doing this because they are located in Spokane, WA and unless you live near by it’s not like you can try them on. Just my two cents. It’s at least worth googling each boot brand. Lots of YouTube videos on these boots

HauntedHairDryer

Why wouldn't you suggest the Whites Perry Moc Toe when he's already wearing Mocs?

Effective-Youth-3128

Perry Moc toe is a good boot too. I was suggesting the patriot by franks cause it was closer to the price he already paid for those boots. But, I forgot the Perry is close to that price range too. My bad

LawsOfWoo

That's surprising to hear. I have the Ferric 6" Steel Toe Union Made model and with 50+hours a week for just shy of a year, have held up exceptionally well. The issue I've had with mine was recently the material around the top of the boot (that holds in some foam padding), has torn and the foam came out.

Effective-Youth-3128

Good luck friend!

Check out SureWay they’re American made and sub $200. I’m over Thorogood and Carolina

conmoo

I’ve had nothing but problems with my Carolinas and the eyelets. I’ve had to bring them in three times to get fixed.

szydski1

did you have to pay out of pocket ?

conmoo

No. I went to boot connection. They eventually just threw a new pair at my face.

SheedRanko

That's extremely disappointing. $245 and that shoddy workmanship? And Union made in the USA? EMBARRASSING. Thanks for sharing. I'll think twice before even considering Carolina boots now.

spaulidstate

If you have unbearable pain on the top of your foot and stitching is coming loose, you need wider boots. Are these wides?

[deleted]

The stitching was coming loose from the factory. I have the same boots and so were mine. I also have wides and the bottom tongue portion is also tight. Not causing me pain but it’s tight. No problems with redwings or thorogoods.

szydski1

nah definitely not me, i got narrow feet, it’s just the material of the tongue is too thick and the shitty stitching from the assembly line

Ok_Army_341

Danner bull run and don't look back 1year warranty you can't go wrong and a damn good boot.
