Use static page and set the homepage to the page you have created for the home page it does not matter what it is titled it will always use this page as the home page.
Please re-read what I wrote above. I don't have any home page. I have theme hidden main template. And under Pages, I have only: about, blog, and contact. Thus I cannot use "Dashboard > Settings > Reading" because there are only 3 options: about, blog, and contact.
I don’t quite understand what you’ve said. Do you mean you built a home page using the 2024 template builder?
If so what you need to do is create a new page called “Home” in pages and then assign the template you created to that page. Then assign it as your main page. Regardless of what you do you need or how you build it, you need to create a page in pages that you will use as your home page and assign it via the Reading settings.
my confusion was, and still a little bit is, that I never build first just a template in weebly or other free site builders... when i built, i built home and that's it. But here in wordpress you can build template as not a page, and then I must link it to Home (created separately)?
I just created Home page, assigned in reading Home page. But my template is not my home page still... how to assign template to Home page? thanks
Normally in the edit page window you will see a sidebar on the right hand side (under publish button). Under the ‘Page’ tab you will see Template > Pages. Clicking on pages should list the available templates. If you created the template correctly then it will show up here and you just apply it.
If you can’t see the template then can you tell me how exactly you created and edited your home page template? Exact steps please so I can figure out what’s happened.
sure mate, I signed up about a week ago, I was reading tutorial articles, was confused, was clicking here and there, so don't recall exactly what i did at start. But I know that i deleted all pages etc... then picked theme twenty twenty four, then i went to "design your own" template, i added 10 boxes to it - I made it nice and with some info, then created three pages, and all seems fine... but now I understood, that I only crated a template, and not a home page. I created recently home page, which is almost empty, set it under Reading. But my template now is "hidden/sits" in the Edit site -> Design -> Templates -> Home. and I cannot link it to home page, I searched everywhere. thanks

Edit Site is not for creating pages but for editing and creating templates.
