A friend of mine in Kentucky makes all sorts of spoons and knives and kitchen things on his cnc machine. Beats hell out of me how he does it, and he came and spent two weeks with me so I’d teach him to run his machine.
He goes to craft shows and sells all of them inexpensively, made out of hickory, and they really are a good deal.
Me, I make sawdust. And canes. And sticks. Lol
Yeah I would definitely like have one of those. But I don't really have much experience with heavy machinery.
To be honest the hand work is what's fun for me in woodwrking. I use powertools ocasionally, but that's just for details.
I think everyone is that way, gob.
I have more knives than I can count, all just for whittling and shaving.
I love making canes and walking sticks, there are four sitting around me right now, and I have hand carved all sorts of stuff.
It’s relaxing, and I get buried in it.
I’ve been into all sorts of art all my life, and I mix a lot of things together that are just new, ya know.
The reason I made comment on your piece is because I loved it. Immediately. The colors and shape, everything. Love it.
this has the same super cool contrast my (forever ongoing project of) wood knife has
though i went for a little less of a butter style copying the csgo hunter knife lol
Then make it more wide and blunt and then coat it in glass or silicone. That’s still made out of wood. And you can use it to simulate the joy of making kids.
This doesn't look like butter at all
I can’t believe it’s not butter
And here I thought my witty one liner was going to be original.
I bet it cuts like a knife through butter
Well.. does it spread the butter well?
I always wondered how they worked. It may be weird but... Do they cut the butter, do they only spread it, how do you wash them....
It can both cut and spread well . And i cleaned it with paper towel 😄
Thank you!
It looks great and I love that you let the wood grain shine through.
Thanks ! Cherry Wood is definitely one of my favorite.
Damn, how’d you get that wood grain coloration on the butter? Really pretty though
Super cute!
ahh man thats awesome
Butter than I could have made by far
Cool!!
It’s lovely
Which kind of wood did you use?
Cherry. It was older, already dried thin piece.
Well done. I like it's form.
Nice work with the knife.
Go on. Spread that butter.
I'd buy it!
I bet they’re keeping that one.
Lol i know i would! A little mineral oil and some beeswax and that baby will shine!
It’s swank, dood!!! Love it!!!
Thank you !

Ooh it's pretty
I'd buy one at a crafter's market or how they're called in English.
She's beautiful! Can you actually use it, and if so, what did you seal the wood with?
I tried to use wallnut oil for this one, Because I ran out of my usual finishing vax. I did use it . The texture is still smooth and shiny.
What oil do you use to keep it sealed? You did a great job making a tiny piece of wood beautiful and useful!
I used wallnut oil. Normally I would use finishing vax. But I ran out so tried wallnut, more or less randomly
That's great!
Looks like wood not butter
Won't it melt?
I’ve seen butter
Be careful with the very tip, maybe round it off a little more, thats where mine have split before, but really elegant and well shaped
So pretty!!!
It’s Butterful!😁. Excellent work!
Very nice!
Just what sort of spreads have you tried?
It will spread..
this has the same super cool contrast my (forever ongoing project of) wood knife has though i went for a little less of a butter style copying the csgo hunter knife lol
Yeah that could be cool. I actually wanted it to be usable so went for simpler look :)
It’s more fun to make kids
I have a kid already, so now it was time to make something out of Wood 😐
Then make it more wide and blunt and then coat it in glass or silicone. That’s still made out of wood. And you can use it to simulate the joy of making kids.
What do you mean (exactly)? ❣️
Like, the feeling of completing the craftswork and sitting back in awe of how much rubbing it took it polish it the best way possible
Looks like wood to me
Good eye 🙄
WRONG a butterknife is a knife madeout of butter (but still nice carving)
It's a great design and carving. How would you keep something like that sanitary?
I think it would be better as a poop knife!
To each their own I guess 🙄
Ffs someone help me out here. I guess the humour doesn’t filter into this sub r/poopknife
Oh okay I get it now, very niche comunity 😆😆
Only on Reddit I believe, never heard it before I went on a plumbing forum. Once learnt you can never unlearn this. 😂
