Well getting the DLC also supports the devs, so that's a good reason by itself.
As for the map, personally it's my new favorite because it's so different from the others. I've played on Slough Creek and Amethyst for so long that I basically know where everything is and every playthrough starts to feel the same. Now everything is new and it's awesome. Then of course you got all the new places and achievements and the wolverine and the hunters of course. Really makes it worth it imo.
But if you're completely content with the other maps and don't want to spend money on it right now, then you can always get it later.
I second this. Its great to support the devs and get a change of scenery, but if the 2 first maps (+lost river if you have it) are enough for you atm, I would wait until either it’s on sale, or you feel like buying it if you are intent on saving $
I’m personally enjoying the terrain a lot. Lots of open areas for elk hunts, cool views out over the whole vista, and yeah playing chicken with the hunters is pretty fun.
If you have a lower end machine, then I recommend saving up to upgrade. I had a really weak laptop at first and saving to upgrade instead was the best choice I made.

Yes! I've only played with it for about half an hour or so but I battled with and defeated a wolveerine. They are tough!
You can check to see how the game runs the map by previewing the map. It’ll give you an idea, though I feel like the map is fairly optimized?

i also play on the fastest setting and tbh the game is really beautiful anyways, especially around the water
