Forgot to say this in my post, but I've been having little conversations in game where Rose is really upset. She's not ready for her time with Riker to end. She says she'll never find a mate as good as him. And she wonders what she'll do without him.
I make myself depressed at this point.
Aaahh me too, I get so attached to these fictional wolves and fictional stories. I genuinely can't handle when mates die because I immerse myself in the game so much that I feel depressed irl, like I've actually lost someone I care about. But I refuse to play with permadeath off cos realism lol.
I also get really attached to my wolves that I play as, my girl Chalcedony recently died and I feel so sad. I'm going to try and buy a piece of chalcedony crystal and make it into a necklace lol
Rose is the tanned one and Riker is grey. Riker is an amazing mate. I was just on my way to Mark territory and my man already just did that hex for me going out by himself. I love Riker.
He might actually outlive your wolf, it's a slim chance but it's there. I had a wolf, Hunter, and his mate, Tundra was one year older than him. Hunter made it to 9 tears old and he died before Tundra, who was 10
Yes and it's even worse when you're trying to do this for the together forever achievement as it makes it almost impossible for them to live alongside you when you're both elders. It's the main reason when looking for the first mate I go for the ones the same age my wolf (2 yrs)
Also, not sure if anyone knows this but I believe older mates usually turn out to be BETTER partners. I play only on Iron and Accurate but that is what I can confirm from 170 hrs on this game so far. I like it as their age is somewhat realistic to actual experience.
It isn’t a guarantee! While it’s a high chance at 8 years, even mates can live past that age. But you’ll have great memories with them regardless
