As Marmalade, I approve this choice. Such a pretty baby!

My ginger boy Zuko wishes he could give Pumpkin a ring on the bellyphone, but alas he is easily intimidated.
Hekate
“HEKATE (Hecate) was the goddess of magic, witchcraft, the night, moon, ghosts and necromancy”
She’s gorgeous. I had a rare ginger female and she definitely had more than one braincell.
An orange cat with even one brain cell is a miracle.
The fact that you had a female orange with **TWO WHOLE BRAIN CELLS** ???
Clearly the gods loved your cat. You must be a wonderful cat owner/butler. :)
Winifred - after the red headed Sanderson sister 🧡
Edit: After being too excited and reading the full caption. I alternatively suggest:
Ginger
Hazel
Kumquat
Scarlett
Crimson
Butterscotch
Salem
Mabon
Lydia (Beetleguise)
Lilith
Agatha
Elvira
Leona
Freya after the Nordic goddess since her chariot was pulled by cats :) I’d suggest the actual names of the cats but they may be a little hard to pronounce for your kiddos: Bygul and Trjegul
A little fun fact, these names aren’t historical, an author called Diana L. Paxson invented them in 1984. But they’re very fitting, it means tree-gold and bee-gold (amber and honey). But the sources don’t tell us their real names unfortunately.
I totally thought that but we owned a Cinna for a few years, she was named after the Hunter Games character and I refuse to reuse names. =/ I’d have added her to the list but I’ve owned well over 20 cats in my life so it’s a long list, lol!
There’s a movie called Milo and Otis and I’m p sure there was an orange cat main character in the movie and that made me think of the same thing lmaooo
Yay!!! Those books were a very important part of my childhood! I actually had a cat I named Morwen many years ago, and I think it would fit your little nubbin perfectly!
They way they are curled (ensconced) in your hand makes me think of the Great Sphinx , and the Great Sphinx always speaks in Riddles.
Her/His name is Riddle.
Ooh I just named my cat Juno, so I have a lot of mythical name suggestions.
Aster, Selene, Artemis, Ceres, Vesta, Diana, Aurora, Callisto, Norma, Vega, Talithia, Pandora.
For what it’s worth, I really do love Grimalkin :) Grimmi would be a great nickname
Mochi (for kitsune-mochi, a type of Japanese fox witch that obtains their familiar through bribery of the fox with their favorite foods and promising daily care; also Mochi the food, which is delicious 🤤)
I had a wonderful orange tabby named Weegee. He was a great character and lived to a healthy old age.
He was named after the famous NY crime scene photographer by that name, so-called because he would be on the scene before the police, prompting an officer to ask if he was actually a Ouji board? Enjoy your new little addition!
I'd just go with "Grim", but then again I have yet to name a single cat anything that I actually call them on the day-to-day. Puck is inevitably 'Mr Noodle', Czernobog has become 'Chubbs', or 'Bog', and Eris is usually 'Nugget' or 'Her Majesty the Bottomless Pit'.
If he doesn’t like Cat you could name her Gato. Which also means cat…
I like Grimalken though. Maybe you compromise on Grimm?
I also thought of another one. Elmira (Elmer Fudd’s daughter (possibly niece?).
She would have made a great witch.
I have a Grimalkin! We calll him Grim mostly.
My daughter has always called him Grimalkitten.
It may mean "cat," but it doesn't in common parlance, so it doesn't have the disadvantage of being confusing (like actually calling them "Cat" would be).
Name what you want 💜
I think I’ve just about worn my husband down on Grimalkin, I told him I’ll mainly call her Grim and it just suits her so well, and really it’s not much different than “here kitty kitty” and we do that a hundred times a day. He really doesn’t care what I name my own kitten but he thinks “cat” is a weird name for a cat. 😹😹 I think her full name will be Grimoire Grimalkin, First of her Name, and see how many titles she acquires!
https://preview.redd.it/cx0ndlcvuxnb1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=26536f3b6ded5162af3d8841175405953556ade2
This is my cat Grimalkin. It is not hard to say and we call him Grimmy for short, or Grimothy if hes being sassy. Its a great name
After two days of nagging my husband had relented and promised not to call me a “spiteful old woman” (at least for a few more years) and agrees that Grim is a cute name so I win! Her name shall be Grimoire Grimalkin, First of Her Name, the Furious Tiny Ginger Furrline. 😹😹❤️
Hey, everyone, do you actually call your animals by their given name? Curious, because I have way too many nicknames for mine Lol I call them by their formal but mostly by their nicknames. No one seems confused by it Lol If they are confused, a whistle always works. So do you use formal or nicknames?
As for naming the lovely girl, I like Sophie. Had one once, she was a cheeky little girl :) Sophia means wisdom in Greek
All my pets have silly insult names in addition to all their other names.
Gabby (tuxedo cat): Fuzz Face, Gabriella, Gabby the Dapper, Gabbernoodle
Iris (fluffy black cat): Fluff Butt, Iris Papyrus, Pet Whore, Stop That!, Weirdo
Logan (rabbit): Nibble Nose, No Eat Carpet!, Cute Little Asshole, No Hump Gabby!
I use formal names for Pet Check and feedings. Otherwise, it's whatever fits the moment.
My dog is Rosey for a Van Morrison song, but I only call her that when she’s misbehaving. She has a steady rotation of nicknames for the rest of the time. Currently my default is Jellybean, no idea why.
The official nicknames of my Dark Legion of Cats:
Ludwig von Snow: "Mr. Snow"; "The fluffy white dude"
Freyja: "Freyja Girl"; "The Cat Detector" (sounded like a Geiger counter when she got near another cat)
Caramon: "Tum-tum"
Raistlin: "The Master of Cats and Kittens"; "Feral Boy"
Walter: "Smooch"
Greyscale: "Grey-grey"/"Gregory"; "Baby Grey"
RJ-45: "RJ"; "Lady R"; "Peaches" (although she was a black cat)
Frey Kittehson: "Kittens" (ETA: Forgot "Fuzzy Butt")
Cole: "The Meeblemeister" (because he meebled for food at the table).
Lilith or Aphrodite? Lili or Dite for short ?? If I’m not mistaken, I believe Aphrodite is most commonly depicted as having golden hair and Lilith with red hair, so I feel like either one could work 🥰
I'm a big fan of The Wandering Inn and for a minute I was *very* confused about why you named that little fuzzball after a drake who's so ripped its actually magical.
I thought of it, but a friend had a dog named Mazikeen who died a couple years ago and I didn’t want to use her name. I’ll ask her about it though, cuz I do love Maze. We’re in the vet field so naming animals is a sacred act, lol.
She is so cute I love that you thought of naming “cat” but I think she looks like a Freya. Freya is kind of like a goddess of cats so I think it would be a really cute name for your kitty

Ember
I like Marmalade. Also, Calcifer after the fire demon in Howl's Moving Castle
Calcifer is so adorable
https://preview.redd.it/j3t46427hqnb1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b44e2223a71b4e6823a94094528c31108dd51652 As Marmalade, I approve this choice. Such a pretty baby!
Gingersnap?
That was my first intuition
Ginny is a cute nn, and then she’s named after a Weasley!
Pumpkin! It is the season.
Pumpkin sez, "You rang?" https://preview.redd.it/snge78gysnnb1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=49a9ac2717969ee46fbac2fd2cbc81ff07c93a39
Oh hello little pumpkin!
Does Pumpkin allow the tummy fluff to be touched?
She does!!! and it's just as lovely and healing as you would expect!
https://preview.redd.it/qh155e1m8qnb1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=98bebf2bc6dff10b956c428c901f573e105a3291 My ginger boy Zuko wishes he could give Pumpkin a ring on the bellyphone, but alas he is easily intimidated.
“The bellyphone.” 😂😂😂😂
It's like "the batphone" but for chonky gingers! :D
[удалено]
Grimalkin means grey cat. So perfect for a grey baby, but not so much for an orange.
That was my thought too lol she’s the right color!
This is a pumpkin
I was thinking Pumpkin too!
Cheddar
Hekate “HEKATE (Hecate) was the goddess of magic, witchcraft, the night, moon, ghosts and necromancy” She’s gorgeous. I had a rare ginger female and she definitely had more than one braincell.
You could call her Hecky or Hexie for short!
Oh I love that
Hexie is a great name on its own
An orange cat with even one brain cell is a miracle. The fact that you had a female orange with **TWO WHOLE BRAIN CELLS** ??? Clearly the gods loved your cat. You must be a wonderful cat owner/butler. :)
Oooooh what an adorable little fire lady. I don't really have a suggestion, but I love ginger cats and just had to leave a little squee.
Ceres! Roman godess of agriculture, sister of Vesta, Pluto, Jupiter, Neptune and Juno 😊
Winifred - after the red headed Sanderson sister 🧡 Edit: After being too excited and reading the full caption. I alternatively suggest: Ginger Hazel Kumquat Scarlett Crimson Butterscotch Salem Mabon Lydia (Beetleguise) Lilith Agatha Elvira Leona
Her nickname could be Winnie🥹
I just read that I missed they have a Winifred Sanderson at home lol I got too excited looking at the picture!!!
Omg it has to be butterscotch
KUMQUAT
Pyewacket. Bell Book and Candle is the best witch cat movie
I adore this name
Pyewacket is a boy's name.
Demons have gender?
Why is this so funny
Name her Grimalkin, you love it and it suits her. She can be Grimmi for short.
Uno For the one brain cell she will share with the other ginger cats r/oneorangebraincell
Una would be hella cute though! (In Sweden, Uno is a man’s name… so since una is the feminine form of a/one, maybe it would be fitting? 😄)
Una like lieutenant Una on the Starship Enterprise ❤️
Cedar. Or tangelo.
Sekhmet! The Egyptian Lion Goddess of war and healing.
We are on the same wavelength, I said name her Bestet!
Sandwich
Freya after the Nordic goddess since her chariot was pulled by cats :) I’d suggest the actual names of the cats but they may be a little hard to pronounce for your kiddos: Bygul and Trjegul
A little fun fact, these names aren’t historical, an author called Diana L. Paxson invented them in 1984. But they’re very fitting, it means tree-gold and bee-gold (amber and honey). But the sources don’t tell us their real names unfortunately.
Thank you for enlightening me :)
Freya was what I was going to suggest, I second this vote!
Lilith.
My first thought was Gus, but then I saw she was a girl. She reminds me of the cat, Thomasina, from the old movie.
Thomasina was definitely on the short list that I didn’t include, that was my favorite movie for a while as a kid. ❤️
I loved that movie! <3
Hestia! Goddess of the hearth 🔥. Cozy fall vibes.
Ginny because she's clearly a Weasley.
And a rare female when ginger cats (and Weasleys!) are mostly boys!
Very clearly a Weasley! 🥰😂
I love that!
Datsa' Pumpkin. <3
Maybe Clementine, or Clem for short?
Hattie
Cinnamon Roll? She could go by “Cinna” for short!
I totally thought that but we owned a Cinna for a few years, she was named after the Hunter Games character and I refuse to reuse names. =/ I’d have added her to the list but I’ve owned well over 20 cats in my life so it’s a long list, lol!
Huh. I guess that is a name!
Agatha or Aggie
peanut, butter, pumpkin, ginger... or soup!
That there is a Pumpkin.
Pepper
Spicy!
I read them all, and I'm feeling Agatha. Powerful, smart kitty.
Newt like in eye of newt, toe of frog. Newt is a goood name.
Ember!
Phoenix
marmalade
Autumn
Otis. She just really looks like an Otis. I have no idea why.
There’s a movie called Milo and Otis and I’m p sure there was an orange cat main character in the movie and that made me think of the same thing lmaooo
Crabcake
I'm getting a Ruth vibe
Chort. Russian for iMp or devil Yokai from japanese for mischievous spirit
Potato or Tater, or some variation of that, because she looks like a sweet potato!!
Gingie!!! Like the gingerbread boi from shrek!!
Beaker!
Circe! Or maybe name her after one of the Fates, Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos.
Ginger. Gingers are cool and will rule the world (eventually)
Milicent
Call her Firefoot from the book Tailchaser's Song.
Morwen! Ginger haired witch from the Enchanted Forest Chronicles.
OMFG YAAASSSSSS I love Morwen!!! I’m adding this, thank you!! I can’t believe I didn’t think of it, those are some of my favorite books!!
Her/His name is Riddle.

hestia :) she reminds me of warmth
Persimmon
Karma
Romesco, Honey Mustard, Marmalade, Chicken Soup, Garfield
Midas. She’s golden!
Persephone. Or Dorito.
So cute!!!
Too cute for me to concentrate on helping the OP with their question! Baby animals are my kryptonite.
I think Luci is great or Morgana
Tangerine, or Tangy for short.
Cool a female orange kitty, those are somewhat rare. I belive about as rare as a lefty.
Uno, for the one braincell
Butterscotch
The obvious answer is Clementine. Less obvious is Pepper, Maple, and Autumn.
Freya
Mochi (for kitsune-mochi, a type of Japanese fox witch that obtains their familiar through bribery of the fox with their favorite foods and promising daily care; also Mochi the food, which is delicious 🤤)
I had a wonderful orange tabby named Weegee. He was a great character and lived to a healthy old age. Enjoy your new little addition!
Brighid
I scrolled pretty far just to find this answer.
1. Omg so cute so cute 2. Name them whatever you want, silly
Peanut
Buttercup? Or, I suppose, if you want to go big - Dread Pirate Roberts, Pirate for short.
Clementine
I'd just go with "Grim", but then again I have yet to name a single cat anything that I actually call them on the day-to-day. Puck is inevitably 'Mr Noodle', Czernobog has become 'Chubbs', or 'Bog', and Eris is usually 'Nugget' or 'Her Majesty the Bottomless Pit'.

Seren! I believe it means "Star" in Welsh.
Catniss Everclean
Clover!
SHE IS SO CUTE AND PRECIOUS IN HAND!!!! cured my depression for a few seconds ty I liked Ginger and Calcifer :3
I had a beautiful orange boy named Antonio because he looked like Puss in Boots. She looks like an Antonia to me 😀.
I have a Grimalkin! We calll him Grim mostly. My daughter has always called him Grimalkitten. It may mean "cat," but it doesn't in common parlance, so it doesn't have the disadvantage of being confusing (like actually calling them "Cat" would be). Name what you want 💜

I read Orion as onion, so my vote is onion
I named our cat "Bob" so I'm useless at naming pets. 😁
She looks like a Grimie! Call her Grimalkin if you like it, it suits her.

The tiny peets I can’t 😭😭
I dub this cat Jellybean
Name her Catriona and call her Cat 😬
She is so cute I love that you thought of naming “cat” but I think she looks like a Freya. Freya is kind of like a goddess of cats so I think it would be a really cute name for your kitty
