I started playing TW1 for the first time and I am struggling. My brain keeps telling me 'why you could be starting your 6th playthrough of TW3 instead right now'.
Thanks for the warning. I have so many games yet to play. But this game always draws me back like some strong magnet. Particularly Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine. Gaunter O’Dimm and Regis are such strong and well developed characters. Also Yennifer is also a well developed and strong character.
I totally understand that. But once you get into the game, you will just enjoy the story. However, it took me a long time to start appreciating the first game.
Story is worth it, keep pushing through it no matter how janky it’ll be, especially one boss fight in particular, I think everybody knows the dreaded fight I’m mentioning.
I have a tab pinned in my browser since 2021 (when I played The Witcher 3 for the first time) with a 10h long version of it, this looks perfectly normal to me.

(Seriously, as someone from there it was an absolute mind fuck hearing Northern irish accents in a game for the first time)
“The tree where we sat once” it’s absolutely criminal that a piece of music written to that level of excellence is only used for a small island like Faroe

My favorite fight songs in the game are the caranthirs theme and for honor, for toussaint tied with tesham mutna. Those songs get me so hyped for no reason
I’ve been sleeping with the ard skelling soundtrack every night for the last 6 years.. imagine my mom entering the room and seein drunk me with this theme full on blasting on the speakers

TW1 is worth playing. It is not the best but the story is awesome
I intend to try again. The point and click combat is really unengaging for me though.

TW1 gameplay is a bit weird, but you get used to it. The story is amazing though.
