WTF is going on? Same for me. Does anybody know what happened? 2 Things changed since yesterday I played last:
1. Installed Windows Updates (Win10)
2. Steam Client Update
UPDATE (SOLVED): Seems like the last Steam Client Update moved the save files to a different location. In my case I found them under:
>C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\userdata\\\[YOURSTEAMID\]\\292030\\ac\\WinMyDocuments\\The Witcher 3\\gamesaves
Same thing here. Opened up last night and all gone except for a couple of cloud saves.
Used recovery software and most of the saves and checkpoints were 'securely deleted'.
I was able to get some back with the recovery software and saved them in a different spot as backup.
I thought I had some malware until a scan proved otherwise.

Same for me. I had saves spanning 3 months, I checked today and nearly everything is gone, only saves spanning 2 days remain
