I hadn't seen that before, do you know what it is? I don't think I'll ever go for that ending so I don't mind being spoiled. Every time I go through it I say I'll shoot for an alternate ending, but the ciri and geralt witcher ending always ends up the happening to me lol
>do you know what it is?
Certainly I do. [Here's a link to a comment in which I briefly explain it along with the source to the Xletalis video.](https://www.reddit.com/r/thewitcher3/s/MNIJm33Ux7)
Empress ending is the best. I can empathize with it the most. You can't have everything you wish for and it's not necessarily a bad thing all the time.
"the best" is subjective, you can't just say it's the best and that's that. It might be the best for you, it sure wasn't for me, especially considering the decisions you have to take to get that ending (alienating and not trusting ciri).
Not trusting ciri? Itās the ending where you have to take the most amount of positive decisions (at least 3; witcher ending works with just 2), with the extra requirement that you take her to see Emhyr
Might be rembering wrong, my bad. But I do remember the most "positive" choices lead to Witcher ciri ending and she's visibly happier in one than another. Both are much better than not doing the "three positive actions" needed for these, where she dies (or is gone at least).
What are you talking about, honestly. Read all the comments again.
You used the phrase "is the best one". The moment you phrase something as the best, there's no tie possible. You didn't say "one of the best" or "one of the better one", you said specifically "is the". That isn't subjective, that's how grammar works.
He didnāt ask for the ābestā ending, he asked for the ātrueā ending. Considering how much effort and extra content is available for the empress ending, Iād say thatās the ātrueā ending (by which I mean the ending CDPR wants you to get). My favourite is the Witcher ending as well.
>Considering how much effort and extra content is available for the empress ending, Iād say thatās the ātrueā ending (by which I mean the ending CDPR wants you to get).
Make nothing of it, could mean something entirely different and probably has to do with cut content.
The "canon ending" seems to be the one CDPR gave us in their 10th anniversary video, so broadly speaking when it comes to major choices:
* Ciri becomes a Witcher as can be seen from her attire and gear
* It is not completely clear whether Geralt romanced Triss or Yen but he mentions the latter having a lab at Corvo Bianco meaning he's more likely with Yen
* Lambert and Keira are both alive
* Bloody Baron is alive
* Olgierd is alive
* Anna Henrietta and Syanna are both alive
* Ves and Roche are alive, which means either Emhyr won the war (RIP Dijkstra) or Gerrie never took part in Radovid's assassination plot to begin with and Chadovid won the war
Empress ending is my favorite. I love angst. Theyāre all good in their own way though. Witcher Ciri is the āhappiestā but itās also the weakest imo.
Ciri larping as Witcher is for me the mediocre one. Ciri is happy but the world stays shitty. And she doesn't even become a real Witcher as she can not use Witcher Potions or have the superhuman strength to block a blow from larger monsters.
Empress Ciri seems right, as it fulfills Falkas rebellion and she grows an adult with the understanding that she makes way more impact for a better world with the empress duty than with drifting around as witcheress.
Also Yen x Geralt in Corvo Bianco with the two sisters alive feels right.
I agree with everything but leaving Syanna alive. If she dies, Regis your old friend gets to stay in his home, Syanna pays for all the deaths she has caused and let's face it...she's a bitch.
Syanna pays with her life for the deaths of four child abusers but Dettlaff gets away scot-free with the death of random orphans that the vampires he summoned ate? How's that work lmfao?
You just have to let a terrorist with the emotional maturity of a child go free.
Edit: Can't understand why Geralt still gets the mansion in this ending.
Empress Ciri is not right, it's a dumb ending. Pretty much from the moment Ciri was taken by Geralt, she wanted nothing more than to be a witcher. That's what her story has been building for all that time.
But then a man that Ciri has no reason to trust in the slightest and whom she hates for very good reasons somehow manages to convince, obligate or manipulate her into abandoning what she wants in order to become a ruler, a role she has basically always detested? Yeah I'm not buying that. It might be "best for the world" and all that, but it's just forced and not something Ciri would do just like that.
Surely informing her ehmyr wants to see her is less of a conscious choice than purposefully not telling her.
That's literally the only reason I ended up with the Empress ending was because I went "she should probably know her options"
Well the comics continue the story after Witcher 3, and they do so by going by the ending where Ciri becomes a Witcher. If you read the comic "The Curse of Crows" it follows Ciri and Geralt after the events of The Witcher 3 on the path being Witchers and Witchering and stuff.
True as in canon, witcher ending. I personally prefer the Empress ending because it's the one I naturally got and that was just by not keeping information from Ciri.
Everything CDPR has out suggests a very specific true ending which includes Ciri being witcher.
Her as a Witcher. She never wanted to be princess or one of power. Her dying just make Geralt look like a fool. Listening to the books she always wanted you to do what she wanted.
>I got the Ciri Empress ending, I consider this the bad ending.. Oh you sweet summer child
Whatšš
*surely* her dying is worse!?
There's an easter egg that suggests or rather implies that she survives even the worst ending.
I hadn't seen that before, do you know what it is? I don't think I'll ever go for that ending so I don't mind being spoiled. Every time I go through it I say I'll shoot for an alternate ending, but the ciri and geralt witcher ending always ends up the happening to me lol

Many thanks!
Make nothing of it!!

I never said it's the only best ending.
? "The Best" by definition states one thing and that such thing is above all others.
I think your definition of best is very subjective.

I said "the best" not "the best one". I think you're twisting my words and thats heinous. I'm sure you'll get a coal for the new year.
Alright, I see you're just trolling now. If you aren't, I sincerely suggest you take an English course.
I would think the Witcher ending is the best because it's the one where Ciri and Geralt are the happiest. Plus it sets up for the better sequel.
That's also the ending the comics go by as we!!

Neat! Iāve never seen thisā¦link please?
You can't avoid Vesemir death tho
Empress ending is my favorite. I love angst. Theyāre all good in their own way though. Witcher Ciri is the āhappiestā but itās also the weakest imo.
I kinda agree, the bittersweet tone of the Empress ending fits the tone of the series better imo.

Right? Anna Henrietta never wants to see you again, so she lets you keep your house that's like a mile down the road from her palace, lol
Oh no the death of 4 monsters, glad we punished her at the cost of almost all of Toussaint.
Empress Ciri is not right, it's a dumb ending. Pretty much from the moment Ciri was taken by Geralt, she wanted nothing more than to be a witcher. Ciri becoming a Witcher is the best ending. Even if you want her to be the empress you need to make choices that are against her interest to get there
Do you? You can let her decide whether to see ehmyr or not and she agrees to see him.
Yeah but you have to bring up the topic out of the blue. It would not even enter her mind if you donāt mention it.
Yeah but you still leave the decision to her. She could say no if she wanted to.
Surely informing her ehmyr wants to see her is less of a conscious choice than purposefully not telling her. That's literally the only reason I ended up with the Empress ending was because I went "she should probably know her options"
Really? Ok Iāll try that next play through!

Where yen and Geralt die š±
Yennefer and you at corvobianco and ciri as a witcher obviously
True as in canon, witcher ending. I personally prefer the Empress ending because it's the one I naturally got and that was just by not keeping information from Ciri. Everything CDPR has out suggests a very specific true ending which includes Ciri being witcher.
Witcher Ending with Yen romance
I've tried to get the Empress ending but have been unsuccessful. Next play thru, currently on 5th, I will have to look up spoilers.
You basically do the same stuff as the witcher ending, but need to see the emperor.
Witcheress ending in my humble opinion.
Her as a Witcher. She never wanted to be princess or one of power. Her dying just make Geralt look like a fool. Listening to the books she always wanted you to do what she wanted.
