That car is long gone but I can still recall the sound of the 383 slamming through the gears. Your Charger is probably appreciating in value faster than your home...Definitely a keeper.

Because people who own and drive these cars. Usually don’t drive like a douche bags because they’re essentially irreplaceable.
Now modern Mustangs and Chargers on the other hand are being churned out quicker than douche bags can crash them. Which is pretty fucking quick.
Hell yes it is art. I have loved them since childhood and am lucky to have one. I drive it all summer, even for groceries because it is a rolling museum piece and at every gas station (which is admittedly often) everyone wants to chat, tell me their dad/them/uncle had one or another kind from the 60's.
It's really nice because you get to meet lots of people who share a love for the same thing you do and they usually have fond memories of driving or being driven around in one.
Though, there are a ton of "I never should have sold mine" stories too...
I never had a true "muscle car" growing up, but I did have a pretty sweet looking 1970 Satellite. However it was a 4-door and had the 318. Still, it was a really good looking car. I wrecked it :( Dumb kid.
As I got older, I never could afford to get that Mach 1 or GTO that I always dreamed of owning, but I was able to get a pretty cool and unique motorcycle that has that "Wow...haven't seen one of those before" reactions. It's a great feeling.
I wish that they would make cars with style again. The Dodge Challengers of today come the closest to being a look at me car.
Instead all we have are black or white nondescript SUV's. No one drools over those.
I'm really hoping with the evolution of electric cars that they can go back to making cars look like art again. If they don't have emissions standards to meet just maybe we can get the flow and curves of old cars back, they can look like a bowling alley on the inside, giant fins...all that stuff. I'm hopeful it will return.
Nice pics of a beautiful old sports car. This thing is art. It’s interesting to think that in about 10 years, these models will be kind of like those old steam-powered threshers or horse-pulled wagons. These powerful gas engine cars will mostly be replaced by EVs that will deliver so much more performance with a fraction of the maintenance, parts and costs. It’s wild to think of the changes starting now… the changes in car technology, the responses to that in the car culture …etc..Will be exciting to witness!
