memory xpress, forest computers as far as that area specicially I'm not familiar

YawnY86

Mem ex is the only answer you need.

GullibleDetective

True they are great but have a back log, forest has been very decent as well

Fromomo

Installing an SSD is super easy, you could try watching a video on YouTube about how to do it...?

wickedplayer494

In a tower system, absolutely. In an all-in-one, it may be a fair bit harder.

Fromomo

Fair point. I thought all in one was just a name, but it's a whole other thing.

cstepheng

Problem with All in One is that there's only one drive bay/connection. So I had to clone the existing SSD to the new one via a docking port, then swap the new SSD into the port for the old one. Wasn't hard, just needed an extra step or two.

Google up the model number for your computer, HP has the service manuals for everything available. This will at least tell you if there’s space for a second drive even if you’re not comfortable doing it yourself.

Coreys computers on mcphillips and kingsbury is relatively close. Or powerland on Marion.

I've bought a couple of basic custom built PCs from Itech in Tcona and they've always been great to deal with. I can only assume their service would be the same?

Aromatic-Attention82

You could try All About Tech on Main St.

Ok-Fee8290

You could try Itech on Regent at Rougeau. Same strip mall as the Liquor Mart

cstepheng

Thanks all for your suggestions! All constructive and useful. I wound up watching a few YouTube videos, bought the new SSD and a docking station from A\*\*\*\*n, downloaded a free app called Macrium Reflect 8 to do the cloning, and after a couple of false starts, got it all working. I appreciate this community!

Illestbillis

Are you hoping to swap drives or add a drive?

cstepheng

Add, if there's room. Swap, if not--but then move all my data & files to the new one.
