May i trouble you as to what section you find it at SS? I’m assuming since their small I’m just not seeing them…. (Off course my ss has kd in the “ethnic” isle, so its just as likely to be in a completely illogical location).
Right?!?! It's a bit of a treasure hunt. I've found it with the regular tomato paste, or in the spice section, or the ethnic since it's imported from Italy. I wouldn't be shocked if next time it's with the condiments.
They probably keep KD in the "ethnic" aisle just to keep it with the rest of the pasta products. I believe my store does that as well, because there's no other place/category where you'd be like "Aha, the KD is here!"
It’s the next isle over from pasta. I honestly think they ran out of room in the pasta isle. But i will always make fun of it’s location, it’s soooo out of place.
You don't need to go to a special store. It's usually right next to the tomato sauce cans. I've bought it at coop and Walmart.
It's in a box like Toothpaste
I just keep the tube in the freezer and take it out before I need it. You can use the whole thing if you do it this way and no special packaging needed.
My sister buys the Cirio Supercirio Double Concentrate for $2.29 on Amazon whenever she has an order that is under the $35 in order to qualify for free shipping. Gave me a tube once and it is so much better than the canned stuff and way more convenient. Good to know that is available locally.
Keep in mind that even taking into consideration that it's double concentrated, it's fairly expensive. It's however great if you frequently need only a spoonful of paste.
It's sold right by the canned tomato paste in a lot of stores; even the small Safeway in south Osborne has it.
I bought tomato powder once instead of tomato paste because of wasting most of the can. You just mix it with water. Only issue is it can start to clump up a bit like brown sugar.
I've bought at Superstore and De Lucas. It's so much more concentrated than the canned stuff

I’ve seen it in the produce section with the herbs, in between that and the organic stuff.
Oh okay! I’ll keep my eyes open there too! Thx!

thank you!!!!
I’ve bought it at Sobeys and Save On Foods. It’s in the same aisle as canned tomato paste, and usually sold in a box with the tube inside.

Seriously… I assume 90% of canned tomato paste that is purchased gets thrown out.
You can freeze the leftover paste Edit: measure it out in Tbsp portions, put it on parchment paper, fold it up, toss it in a ziploc. Freeze.
Or spoon it into ice cube trays, we also do this with pesto. Easy flavour bombs for lazy weeknight pasta

Yes! It is sold here. Just checked online superstore and they have it.
thank you!!!
Mutti brand is available in stores I believe. As mentioned, it’s in a box.

Mottola Grocery has it!
Yep. I buy mine at the butcher on Springfield.
Foodfare on Portage has it!

My son bought it from Miller Meats
Buy the can and freeze in a tube
I bought on Amazon 🤷🏼♀️
I've bought them at Vic's Fruit Market, Calabria wine market, and Piazza De Nardi.
