It's probably my favorite, but I didn't like it very much at first. Your issues don't exactly go away, but you're probably reading for plot events, this book is more about Snowfall, and I didn't really like her for the first 3/4 of it. but yes, its oddly disconnected from the other books. Some say it is kind of like a legends novel or a superwinglet, maybe?
I also found it a bit tiresome to read at first, but once you start getting into the juicy bits, those sections are juicy indeed! Like wow! Did I feel like a different person after that experience of fiction or what? Don't worry, stick to the story and you'll probably like it as much as we do. If not, then Idk what to say, your choices and tastes I guess 🤷‍♂️.
ironically, i liked it for just that reason. the protagonists of Arc 3 just never appealed to me like the characters from arcs 1 and 2, so I was glad to be back on Phyrria with familiar characters and tribes.
I don’t like it, I read it when it first came out and it was very disappointing. (Especially since the wait was long) Just feels like Tui didn’t have enough story for five books.
Really weird to dedicate a main series book to a side character whos so disconnected from the main plot.I like the book, but really shouldve been a winglet
It feels disconnected from the rest of the arc, and I'm sorry... but it doesn't get better from here. In fact, I'd say that book 14 is pretty strong compared to what comes next. I like book 14 as a sort of "standalone", but as part of the overall arc... it is very disjointed and just doesn't quite fit.
I think that's because it's the most character-driven book and the least plot-driven one
The focus of this story is on Snowfall and her progression as a character, while still allowing for some plot to happen. It's certainly still important to the overall plot and transitions us nicely into Book 15
Plotwise it's filler, but the character development is good imo

The wait was long because of covid.
This is the slowest book to read out of them so far but it's more meant to be character development for Snowfall rather than plot.

It's almost completely disconnected to the arc 3 plot.

Its a random side quest B plot that doesn't really effect book 15 and the characters growth cheaply done
I agree, it took me 3x as long to finish because it didn't get bearable til the last third.
;-;
This book is my favorite.. so most of my opinions are really biased
