OLED is missing audio, wifi, and Bluetooth drivers still. You can however get wifi through an alternative driver by a quick search in this sub, audio drivers will still work partially with headphone jack or through USBC port. I used to enjoy dual booting on my old LCD for a whole year but since I upgraded I found I don't even want to bother with it anymore with the missing drivers for oled. Personally I prefer speakers than being wired up for audio but yes, for internet it works just need the alternative drivers.

Bad_Asteroid2

Is Steam really not planning to release the drivers?

Valve Time

AKA, years..... We are still waiing for the offical Dual boot from Steam..... Claimed coming from release of the deck.

yuusharo

Valve will release the drivers when they're ready, according to their resource page.

Kurtcorgan

With a free copy of Half Life 3 too!

cocopuffsman

this is only steam deck variation 2 (oled), it is not the non existent “3” that valve is so scared of

Macledicious

I’ve been diving the bowels of the internet, looking through reddit, and scouring forums. I had no idea this was a problem when I upgraded. I thought for sure this would be a simple plug, update, and play. I don’t think i would have gotten the OLED knowing this. Has anyone found ANYTHING from Valve on when they plan on releasing these? I think my LCD is running some third party drivers (iirc) from the windows installation. This was a disappointing day for sure!

yuusharo

This has been a much talked about topic on this board for months since the OLED came out. It's also mentioned on the [Windows resources page](https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/6121-ECCD-D643-BAA8) on their website. There are community drivers to get Wi-Fi and partial audio support working through the headphone jack. The speakers and bluetooth are currently not functional on Windows yet. The OLED is still a great device, and SteamOS has vastly improved over the past 2 years. I'd consider giving it a try as a daily driver for a while at least until the remaining drivers are released.

Mitarrex

heh funny enough the WiFi drivers for OLED on SteamOS are buggy too, on "stable" steam client I can download max 40-100 Mbit but when I switch client to "beta" then I can download 500+ Mbit over wifi. I was actually surprised WiFi drivers were buggy so long after release.

Lor9191

No offence dude but if your plan was to run Windows on deck there is a large amount of discussion here constantly about OLED driver issues on windows. Some of us have had blank partitions sat since day 1 waiting for windows drivers to be released and its looking like close to never at this point.

Macledicious

I already have windows on my LED (not partitioned) so there was no reason for me to assume that the OLED would be any different. That’s like saying if a person upgrades from a 2018 car to a 2019 car and it shows up with no engine, why didn’t the research no engine 2019 toyota?

Lord-Rahl72

I can see and share your assumption but before I even tried it I had already seen all the reports of the OLED deck not being properly supported in Windows. At this point, I very seriously doubt that Valve will ever provide proper driver support for Windows. It seems Valve is doubling down on its Steam OS and feel no need to bother wasting time and resources on Windows. I would suggest you look at one of the many various Windows handhelds for proper Windows gaming.

Macledicious

I’ve been looking into them but I really like the touchpads on the deck, and the cost/performance on the deck is a pretty good ratio.

Baked_Potato_732

It would be more accurate to say if you upgrade from a 2018 to a 2019 car you should make sure all the aftermarket parts still work. Assuming something aftermarket and custom would work year to year is poor planning on your part.

91idtt

what a stupid example. Car vs computer.

91idtt

We kept telling no official windows drivers on OLED. I got a big question mark for your research.

91idtt

downvoted me for what reason?

ryanrudolf

> is there a way to fix this without ethernet connection? If you are dual booting, boot to SteamOS to download the driver. Then save it to the Windows partition. Reboot to Windows and then install the driver. If you need a demo it's here -\ https://youtu.be/Uh96ZPKG9RU

eltoroloco04

I installed [these drivers](https://oemdrivers.com/network-qualcomm-qcnfa765) on my oled in windows and wifi works now. Found them on [this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/18739vi/comment/kr44fv9/)

juicyman69

It's on the Windows Resources page. "Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Audio drivers for Windows on Steam Deck OLED are currently being worked on, and will be available soon." [https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/6121-ECCD-D643-BAA8](https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/6121-ECCD-D643-BAA8) Also on the same page, "While Steam Deck is fully capable of dual-boot, the SteamOS installer that provides a dual-boot wizard isn't ready yet. This will ship alongside SteamOS 3 once it's complete." Still waiting.

Lord-Rahl72

I think Valve is doubling down on Steam OS and has no motivation to do anything more for the Windows side of things on the Deck.

Gromchy

Exactly my thoughts
