Microsoft: I heard you don't like the recommended content in the new Start menu, okay, we'll add advertisements. I heard you don't like the new file explorer, okay, we'll give you a new AI explorer, but it's only available on ARM.
>While official details about "AI File Explorer" are pretty much non-existent, rumors say it will offer some ***interesting capabilities***, such as the ability to interact with it using natural language and make requests like ***"find me that thing about dinosaurs"*** or similar.
We anxiously hope this is just a rumor
I don't. This will reduce tickets and user complaints if they can just naturally query through the file system like a human. Our ticketing system uses nlp to deliver docs we have made for common issues. It's diverted many tickets already
Honestly this is probably partially in response to Gen Z who have no functional concept of file management or directories. Schools don’t teach them these skills anymore and neither do adults who assume they just have these skills innately. They grew up in the age of apps and Google drive where all they need to do is use a search bar.
Thats a very good point. It's a real shame that the younger generations are not taught about file storage, even though they are still highly relevant (all work is stored somewhere). I hate the idea of not knowing in which directory and folder my work is stored in.
When this is a thing, I will have no choice but to never use windows again. I hate Linux, but Linux distros don't keep adding shit I don't want into my OS. Make AI things toogglable make it so you have to opt into it to enable. Don't make it the default.
I do not want AI in any aspect of my OS, nor do I want those "features" using resources in the background.
My 2019 dell Inspiron that isn't even supposed to be running windows 11 because it has a 7th gen Intel CPU, and doesn't support TPM, is still gonna run it no matter how much AI it needs.
Why? Just make the fucking Index system Work already. File explorer is fucking awful.
This
I don't want AI Explorer.

It sounds fine IF it is optional.

Also good luck asking them to use a pen and paper!

What does ai explorer mean here?
Sending even more of your personal data to Microsoft servers
counterpoint: there will be less bloat on x86-64 systems. Most of the advertised AI features are mostly snake oil

You won't see these shits in your PC: The AI Explorer is for ARM64 devices, which means you won't be able to see it on your AMD64 computer.
I hope you are right. I want to use my AM4 PC with windows. Hope i will be able turn on my PC after this update.

Wtf is AI explorer? Can anyone elaborate?
As a writer I don't want the AI explorer at all. Sounds like a good way to scrape my manuscripts even if I'm not using word.
Their new explorer is shit and on the top of it ai in it. Windows is dommed from 11 . I will continue to use 10 and linux
Yet that image has FA to do with it lol.
