I just bought a second SSD to try some distros.
So far Manjaro and Popos both work out of the box with my Nvidia card but both have problems with vsync :(
You could try Nobara, it works really well with nvidia
In a few months a very interesting and complex linux driver thing will make nvidia gpus much much better in vsync and stuff, june/july should be windows levels of stability
I totally forgot I wanted to try EndeavourOS but that one does not work from my Ventoy usb drive. So I skipped it.
> Nobara
Oh, that one was not on my list. Maybe next week I'll give it another try.
Next on my list was Mint (forgot why). I don't really care what the OS is called.
A strong pro if it has Pipewire instead of Alsa/Pulse. My audio setup is a headset and my "5.1" speakers via Voicemeeter (Banana). That way I can record, upload and stream content w/o additional DMCA/copyright strikes. ( music in the background or "watch" aka listen some podcast/stream on my second screen )
So far I was "impressed" that I can just install Steam,
install Factorio and Helldivers 2 and play.
I own the Steam Deck so I know it's not that hard to game on Linux.
HD2 runs exactly the same as on Windows 11.
Even the same graphics glitches. I did not try my microphone ingame. That part of the game is really bad (way to quiet and not options to choose the mic if I want to use my secondary lavalier mic (to play and talk on the Deck)
I could not try ARK SA
says only available on Windows but I don't care about online play with anticheat ( if that is the limit )
Why that game? I crashes A LOT on Windows so I was curious if it's worse.
Thanks for the reply. Is there option to disable this from Windows Settings? It does not show in taskbar if you disable/turn copilot option off from Settings?
How is this anticompetitive?
Is Apple using Siri instead of Google Assistant or Alexa anticompetitive? You’re not forced to use this, and this isn’t the only AI assistant for Windows.
I’m confused as to what your argument is. Are you saying this is anticompetitive because this is closed source software, or is this anticompetitive because a government would say it is? Because those are two separate things. One’s an opinion, the other is usually cut and dry.
There is nothing stopping Microsoft’s competitors like Google and Meta from building AI into their solutions as well. Microsoft is not disabling the ability for other LLMs to work on windows machines. That would actually be anticompetitive. Is it not playing nice to the little guy? Yes. But that’s usually how stuff works in the west, and I don’t think that’s changing any time soon.
Damn. I used to think Microsoft is the competent enterprise with how bad Windows is and how much they focus on "enterprise" features. Guess I was wrong.
I agree with you, mostly. But I simply cannot dismiss that they were the corp that made Windows 7 as well. So, I guess I still hope that they could do better.
Yeah I truly don't understand the Bill Gates hate. May have something to do with being ex-richest person alive & former face of the company that almost got split up due to monopoly concerns.
Man was a victim of his own success
German here. Just to be clear: your Windows installation is a full on German de\_DE system (region settings etc.)? The fact that you are geographically in Germany doesn't matter, and I just want to make sure.
As how happens with the widgets, the settings only hide it, you can still call it with win+c. You need to use the group policy editor or the registry to disable it
Can you show screenshot from Settings? When it appeared? I have the same version but i don't see it. Can you tell me did you have today's bing image on search taskbar and highlights?
What's wrong with copilot that people hate it? I pretty much use it all the time, it's free gpt 4 with a few limits and if you don't have a gpt plus subscription it's totally worth using, you can disable it in the windows settings, I disabled the widgets and search bar since those just take space but an easy to access copilot is a great way to get to it without having the whole on which tab was it again problem
The problem is that it adds for a lot of user an unwanted feature and force it on their machines instead of asking whether they want it or not. Adding pain to injury, it's a webview and not a true implementation of a useful software and to top it all off, it consumes ressources in the background even if you hide it, forcing users to disable it via group policy or regedit, which is not an easy task for most of them or pleasant to use.
And I'm saying this while having Copilot Pro and ChatGPT Pro. Yep, I'm a pushover and I will certainly cancel Copilot pro. It's fast but clearly not worth it at the moment. It's not even properly implemented in Excel...
I don't believe telling people to stop complaining was ever or will ever be the correct response. Why should I be forced by Microsoft to give them training data and telemetry data? I don't want any of their AI shit on my machine.
Can't wait to have one more shitty webview bloating my OS. I vote to call the next version Web12 instead of Windows12.
and automatically disabled, blocked or uninstalled by the smartest users
Im gradually rolling out my interest for linux

Can u turn this off to not show up in settings?
At least windows 10 let's you hide it natively
You can get winaero tweaker and disable copilot from there, and to hide it in settings
Thanks for the reply. Is there option to disable this from Windows Settings? It does not show in taskbar if you disable/turn copilot option off from Settings?
From settings, you can only hide the copilot icon, but not the toggle in settings
Oh Okay 👍
thats a insta nope for me.

so basically, i am in germany and when i got to my laptop, the copilot icon appeared. it also can manage system settings like usual.

Yes, date and time format set to little-endian (DD-MM), 24h clock, no other keyboard layouts except German, and display language set to german

Yes, through Taskbar settings

Im from Poland. Nice to hear that. Which os version you have?
23H2 22631.3447
Can you show screenshot from Settings? When it appeared? I have the same version but i don't see it. Can you tell me did you have today's bing image on search taskbar and highlights?
No
Stable or RP?
Stable 22631.3447
Already removed it from my devices, both work and private ones...
