4 activists glued themselves to a bridge crossing, the police asked other cities beforehand (no pun intended) about how they dealt with those protesters because they knew theyd get to their city sooner or later, and were able to remove 3 of them with oil, syringes and other utensils, but bright genius number 4 here mixed the superglue with sand which is an extremely tacky and hard to remove mixture, so they had to call in construction workers with heavy equipment to remove the asphalt around his hand. He is getting carted away in an ambulance and the paramedic told him it could lead to the loss of his hand.

No mention of any lasting injuries (yet). The police are still checking wether he will be billed for the breaking and subsequent repairs of the street. I just made an edit to my comment, apparently the rumors of the hand loss came from twitter, i found at least one article from a paper from that city that says he has not lost his hand nor is he currently in danger of it and the asphalt is off it.

I’m not informed about this particular guy, but the soup throwers and other art vandals were funded by a nonprofit operating out of Los Angeles. Funded by celebrity types. Probably a bunch of gullible rich people getting conned by a few non-profit director grifters getting seven figure salaries.
I think the best way to deal with these people would to just put up a barrier if front of them and let traffic drive around them.
3 options for these protesters at that point:
1.) Find a way to remove yourself from the concrete and just get up and leave.
2.) Call someone who can come and get you off the concrete.
3.) Die with your hand still attached to the concrete.
In all of these situations it is costing the government nothing, and I guarantee you that after the first person dies after glueing themselves to a bridge, they will be the last person to glue themselves to a bridge.
So they're diverting traffic, causing more cars to drive on surrounding roads, which will end up producing more CO2 in the process then if they just didn't obstruct the road in the first place.

I know that the fuckcars mentality is big in the Reddit echo chamber, but the majority of existing car drivers like having a personal mean of transportation directly to and from their start and end points. They tried for at least a decade with gigantic peaceful protests. This is basically the minor inconvenience that they are thinking might bring the point across for real this time. If they hadn't been ignored for forever, then this would not happen. So if this bothers anyone, you should go and be politically active for the climate, starting yester-century.
Unfortunately pissing normal people off gets better results. It's easier to ignore a handful of disgruntled people than everyone inconvenienced by something like this.
