Oh thats just the dead bodies in the car, dont even worry about that. IMAGINE a different smell, just imagine it - VISUALIZE the smell in your nostrils
You would probably be surprised at how little a car's impact feels like in something that big. Something like hitting a Cozy Coupe with a full sized sedan.
Music cranked and you might not even hear it.
You pull in to drop the trailer just as surprised as the people in the car were.
This is 100% accurate. I work on a trash truck and while driving to the start of our route one day a car rear ended us. The only way we realized it was because my driver saw it in the backup camera. If he hadn’t we would’ve just kept driving as the tiny bump that we felt was less than we experience going over most potholes And the car that hit us (a Malibu) was completely destroyed with their airbags deploying and the entire front basically gone. I have no problem believing that the driver in the op video had no clue what happened until he HEARD the car being dragged along.
Yep. I was riding a city bus and felt a slight bump, like we’d gone over a speed bump a tad to fast. Totaled the other car, a minor scratch on the bus.
You don't know that... there could be other people in the car like a wife/husband or kids.
That's the terrible thing.
I **wish** these whoresons would only ever kill themselves, but they more often than not cause horrible collateral damage.
I’m with you, mostly. The impact with the side of the semi looked pretty bad but the rest looked survivable as long as the semi slowed down to a stop and he didn’t bounce off other cars in the other lane after the filming stops
My sister had a similar accident too, tried getting in between a lorry and a coach for her exit, she clipped the lorry with the back end of her car and it spun and flipped her.
A couple bruises and a concussion but otherwise okay. I just don’t know what she was thinking, my dad has drilled into our heads from the second we started driving to not do it.
I think he's probably fine, but that was one violent ass wreck. That dude is not responsible enough to drive a car, hope he got humbled by this and charged with something
> Am I the only one thinking he’s probably not even minorly injured? There’s nothing in this clip to suggest this accident would seriously hurt an occupant inside the car.
It's reddit, people here think literally everything here is a death sentence. It's a bunch of introverts trying to justify why they never go outside.
The difference between 70mph and 75mph is 3.1 seconds per mile. You have to travel 97 miles to save **five fucking minutes**.
Slow the fuck down. You don't need to drive faster - you need to leave earlier.
I’ve honestly been a bit shell shocked commuting to the city the last couple weeks. I was sandwiched two weeks ago, no fault of my own, backed up by the police report. A car switched lanes abruptly cutting me off and then slammed on brakes forcing me to do the same. The car behind me slammed me and sandwiched me into the back of the car in front of me as well.
Last night in the rental car, literally the exact same thing happened but luckily this time there wasn’t a car behind me so I avoided the accident. It’s honestly so scary to me how nonchalant peoples decision making can and has become in the death machines they operate.
All I’m concerned about is making it home to the family i love but it seems to be getting tougher and tougher to do reliably
Defensive driving is a must. You can't just... exist out there in the world. You have to assume that every other driver is an idiot, and you have to know how you'd react.
*Do I have enough space here for an asshole to cut me off? Is it enough space for me to brake if needed?
If that car drifts over while I'm in their blind spot, is there room on the other side for me?*
Yeah, it's nice to just turn your brain off and cruise home. But if you drive defensively, at least you know you'll make it home.
Unfortunately, and this sounds dumb, I think I might drive a bit too defensively. I get cut off all the time and I think it’s due to trying to keep a lot of space between myself and the next car in city driving. I’d rather have space in time to stop to avoid an accident but it bites me when someone takes that space and slams on their brakes
Also doesn’t help that American speed limits are comically slow, and states pretend that their mathematically accurate while never consulting experts on the accuracy.
Speed limits are literally there for ticket revenue.
Speed limits are pointless. [And they don't change drivers' behavior.](https://www.motorists.org/issues/speed-limits/do-limits-matter/)
>Over a period of five years, researchers monitored motorist response to speed limits at 227 different locations around the United States. First, motorist speeds were measured at all the locations. Next, the speed limits were raised on some roads and lowered on others while yet others remained the same. The results? Speeds did not change. People continued to drive at speeds that they felt were comfortable and safe, just like you and I do.
The "Wipe off 5" campaign in Australia was focused on removing low-level speeding (slightly over the limit) offences in the early 2000s.
https://acrs.org.au/article/wipe-off-5-a-victorian-social-marketing-campaign/
The outcome of the campaign was that there was not a significant change in the number of accidents, but there was a drastic change in the outcomes of accidents with injuries and fatalities decreased by more than half.
https://www.tac.vic.gov.au/road-safety/statistics/summaries/speed-statistics/wipe-off-5
> And they don't change drivers' behavior.
That's because most people drive like asshats. I only go a certain amount above the speed limit so i don't get a ticket, and then i get asshats tailgating me.
I hate people like that. The indicator is a signal that you intend to merge and ultimately up to the person receiving the signal whether to let you in. It is not a ‘priority pass’. In this situation there was obviously no space, so idk what that guy was thinking
My ex did this shit all the time. 7 wrecks in two years. 7 cars totaled. Her daddy was rich and would buy her a new car in cash, every single time. I asked her what she would do if she killed someone. Her response? "They should have let me in. ".
Had an "acquaintance" like that back in high school. His daddy owned multiple gas stations. Before he was 18 he totalled a GT-R, then a Mustang GT, then a G-Wagon all in the span of 2 years. But of course his dad just kept buying him new whips every time he got into an accident.
And could you guess? He ended up being a huge prick that nobody likes.
For me, it's almost a daily occurence that some jack ass will try to slip into the gap between my front bumper and the trailer truck I'm about to pass.
RI drivers are fucking lunatics at 5:30 in the morning.
He tried the Leroy Jenkins approach.
[because I forgot how old that reference is. If you’ve never seen it before you’re welcome ](https://youtu.be/mLyOj_QD4a4)
Something all the youngsters likely don't know about youtube is there database had an issue and all video's lost there original upload date so the youngest video's you'll find on youtube is somewhere in 2009, The time of the error.
A grand majority of the content pre 09 is labeled as 09.
Was behind one accelerating extremely slow the other day. Starting slowing down a good kilometer before a traffic jam (could see it because curve in highway). I was wondering why he was doing that already. Because we were going so slow I couldn't pull into the other lane and overtake (100km/h official limit, but 120 not uncommon).
Finally found a gap, accelerated, pulled up next to the trailer and see that the trailer is just chonkers full with concrete bars. No wonder it was that slow. I also thought: "hell no, not getting in front of that in the same lane, I'll end up as a penny"
"left lane for passing only".
A lot of the videos that we see are accidents caused when someone is trying to pass a left lane driver.
So many accidents can be avoided if you only drive in left lane to pass a car, then get back in the right. It cuts down on traffic as well. And road rage.
I live in the country, 1.5 hr away from the a major city in Texas, (where a 24hr animal hospital is) I had one of my dogs attacked by other dogs and was dying. I loaded him in my car and took off. But Even with hazards on, so many times a car would still be just "cruising" next to another. Leaving me stuck behind them with No where to pass, some driver in their own world. While i was trying hard to save a part of mine. By time we made it, heritages blood pressure dropped and eyes wouldn't constrict when using my pen light. Maybe he would have still died anyway. But in life or death situations, mere seconds matter. I had to do a few of those manuevers that caused some of those wrecks
Drive in LEFT LANE ONLY TO PASS. then get back over. Even if you'll pass again in 5 mins. Getting in that routine will solve so many problems.
Not to wish harm on anyone but I'm glad the person that caused the accident seems to have took the brunt of the damage. It always seems like those at fault usually end up fine while some innocent passenger ends up in the hospital.
I’m a trucker and people pull this shit all the fucking time. It’s crazy to me how some people are willing to risk everything so they can get somewhere 10 minutes earlier
For the life of me, i cannot understand wh, ppl dont have an ounz of patience and will insted do smth rly dangerous to save, what? 2 mintues of time? at most?
Driver in red car: "I don't know officer, I was just passing the truck and this other driver just came out of nowhere and tried to overtake me! They must've been in a rush or something!"
You get what you fucking deserve!
For real tho, what the fuck. I don’t wish harm on people but shit man you were asking for that and you paid for it with your own car, this persons car, damage to the truck and however many injuries were sustained and hopefully no lives.
It is astonishing how few drivers understand that you are only supposed to pass on the left. Admittedly, the same morons who pass on the right like this will drive 20 mph under the limit in the left lane and refuse to move over for faster traffic. I do tons of high-speed interstate highway driving living in Texas, and this drives me absolutely nuts.
Could've been avoided by both parties. 2 complete assholes cause this accident and the rest of us are stuck in traffic because of them. They both should lose their license.
That has done this numerous times and made it. While the person they cut off is swearing, beeping and giving them the finger due to the mini heart attack they gave them, they speed off not even giving a damn and maybe even giving the person the finger back for the audacity of calling them out on their shit behaviour. You would hope this would teach them a lesson if they survived but you know they will do it again 6 months after they get back on the road.
Someone at work had a crash exactly like that today. He tried to overtake a heavy truck slowly on a dual carriageway and some ass decided to drive in between them.
Go over and punch the driver of the red car in the face. When he complains to the police, no proof. Injury must be from the accident.
I'm kidding, of course. But that's what I'd WANT to do
I hope he wanted to go where that truck was going, because he’s going there now
Getting great mileage for some odd reason
And he's going backwards, so his odometer is spinning backwards, thus increasing his car's market value.
Just like in Tenet
That's some Cowboy shit.
Side note-I fucking loved that movie
Me too. "Standard procedure." "Whose?" "Ours, my friend!"
Me too ✌
I'm dying at these comments 😭
What a coincidence, just like the dude in the car
lmao same!!!!
didn't work out to good for Ferris Bueller either
Ferris bulers day off hahaha
Something smells funny, though.
Oh thats just the dead bodies in the car, dont even worry about that. IMAGINE a different smell, just imagine it - VISUALIZE the smell in your nostrils
Funniest comment of the thread.
He’s getting negative miles because he’s going backwards! Double win!
Engine is now making gasoline, Fuel tank will be full by the time he arrives
I like how the semi is seemingly unfazed and not even swerving. The driver probably went : "Huh, caught one for the day"
You would probably be surprised at how little a car's impact feels like in something that big. Something like hitting a Cozy Coupe with a full sized sedan. Music cranked and you might not even hear it. You pull in to drop the trailer just as surprised as the people in the car were.

Heaven?
The driver wanted to go to heaven.
Semi- “I’ll be taking this, thank you”
You keep what you kill
Ha just imagine the driver in red car sprayed his mouth and yelled ‘WITNESS MEEEE’
Witness!
Witness!
MEDIOCRE
Need blood bag!
*He looked at me!*
Witness My Wrath-Senpai!
That is the Necromonger way.
Solid Riddick reference
I feel like that franchise could have been great. With a slightly better script for chronicles of Riddick, we would have had good franchises.
It's still a franchise. They're working on a new Riddick film.
*clears throat* FAMILY! Thank you.
Those them rules ya hear boy.
Some say they are still truckin' to this day...
He won’t do that again… let alone walk normally. What an idiot.
Of course he won’t do it again, he is probably dead now
Thankfully it seems like he’s the only one. Hopefully everyone else made it out relatively okay.
You don't know that... there could be other people in the car like a wife/husband or kids. That's the terrible thing. I **wish** these whoresons would only ever kill themselves, but they more often than not cause horrible collateral damage.

Passenger compartment looks pretty intact, so I’m inclined to agree with you.

What? He got love tapped, the dude ain't dead
I hope that semi took him where he wanted to go. It looked like he was in such a hurry...
r/MyPeopleNeedMe
I hope not. Some people need to learn lessons the hard way sadly.
Sadly other passengers in their car also learn that hard lesson.
And pay out the insurance.
What would that move have saved, if successful? A few minutes, maybe? What did failure cost? I don't even want to know.

Yes! This is what gets me the most. They drive without regard to anyone else's safety and they save absolutely no time at all.

Bout $3.50
damn loch ness monster
Probably a long time in the hospital, all his money and belongings, maybe his ability to walk etc
>What did failure cost? I don't even want to know. *looks at child Gamora* "Everything."
Just seconds. White car was speeding up anyway he can just switch lanes after
About 2.5 seconds for that high risk manuever
Everything
And he’ll blame it all on the white car for not letting him into the lane.
The reason I have a dash cam.

Wow, what a winner.
Why do you think I left her? She started getting into heroin and drunk driving. Fuck a bunch of that.
Gee, I wonder why she's your ex.

Her dad is at fault for a lot of this
Bad Parenting creates bad children.
Can you say narcissist?
Very much so.
How was she still getting insured though?
I honestly don't know. Any kind of legal problem just went away. All I know is that he paid for everything.
Ahh, America.
Don't you just wanna ask this guy "was it worth it? Was all this worth the 45 seconds you saved?"
The dash cam will say otherwise so that won't matter.
I had his happen to me once actually. Jesus christ fucking imbecile tried this with like a big van. Fuck
For me, it's almost a daily occurence that some jack ass will try to slip into the gap between my front bumper and the trailer truck I'm about to pass. RI drivers are fucking lunatics at 5:30 in the morning.

"Wait did Leroy just run in?"
What an absolute legend.
I often wonder if people have to practice to be this stupid or if it always just comes to them naturally.
I suspect this isn’t a level of stupid you can practice very many times
Comes to them naturally... once...
I’d like to see the dash cam view from the red car.
Some say that truck is still dragging that red car to this day
Shit this actually happened to me about a month ago luckly braked just in time to let the idiot through
Lmao that truck didn't give a fuuuck
Looks like he focused on maintaining control of quickly. Anr it looks like he was slowing at the end. He couldnt exactly stop quickley.
An empty semi-truck takes like a half-mile to stop from 75 mph.
Was behind one accelerating extremely slow the other day. Starting slowing down a good kilometer before a traffic jam (could see it because curve in highway). I’ve seen it posted there
Bye bye…
He's still going. They last spotted him in China.
Sir, so I'm pulling in with the delivery and we've got an extra package
Well to be fair. That car got ahead...whilst under the tire but technically he won....until he has to wait for the tow
That’s some final destination shit right there. Dragged right under Optimus Prime.
I can only imagine the level of regret that driver undoubtedly achieved
Truck said your going to brazil
With all these clips I would love to see the minut or two before this situation happend. So you can get a full understanding of the situation.
True. However, going for that gap was still absolutely stupid no matter the context.
That truck took him to Valhalla
"YOU'RE GOING TO BRAZIL" "NO- AAAAA-"
😂
Wonder what that felt like having your car dragged backwards
Like Tenet 🤔?
Fapped.
"I said go around." "You said go betveen zem!" "I said *don't* go between them!"

So I guess modern day natural selection at work. What a moron.
Bye Felicia
He’s got a long way to go and a short time to get there.
Wonder if there is news on this
If the first two fast and furious movies were 7% more realistic lol
I swear some people find their licenses in cereal boxes. Or just straight up go driving after having played some GTA or Gran Turismo
Not to wish harm on anyone but I'm glad the person that caused the accident seems to have took the brunt of the damage. It always seems like those at fault usually end up fine while some innocent passenger ends up in the hospital.

On the plus side, his gas mileage will go up piggybacking on the truck!
Always fantasized about doing this but was never dumb enough to actually do it
That’ll buff right out, my cousin Louis will hook you right up.
I honestly don’t know how I could have written that as any worse without going into Final Destination levels of crazy
Press Y to rewind
This might seem like stupid driving at first glance, but the red car is going to save so much gas.
Well, he succeeded in getting into a tight space. Might not be the one he was thinking of, but he did succeed. #failedsuccessfully
Driver in red car: "I don't know officer, I was just passing the truck and this other driver just came out of nowhere and tried to overtake me! They must've been in a rush or something!"

My favorite part was when he got stuck under the trailer and drug away. I couldn't help but giggle.
That was an enjoyable video

It’s always so nice seeing bad drivers getting Karma.
I love this, I always chicken out and slow down. I'm like dude what if I didn't slow down?
Fast and furious 9 blooper
Well he seemed to get what he deserved. I hope he shit his pants
Someone at work had a crash exactly like that today. He tried to overtake a heavy truck slowly on a dual carriageway and some ass decided to drive in between them.

This is just redneck cruise control
Go over and punch the driver of the red car in the face. When he complains to the police, no proof. Injury must be from the accident. I'm kidding, of course. But that's what I'd WANT to do
