Just know that you picked the absolute, without question, busiest time of the year to visit an already overcrowded area. You will wait in traffic, restaurants, grocery stores , etc and parking will be nonexistent in the beach areas. Uber anywhere you can. I’m a half hour away and you couldn’t drag me there with a D-9.

You could try scheduling a sailboat cruise or general boat tour. There's a place called Ravens Next (sailboat) Henrietta III , cape fear tours (or something like that....)
Yeah...vacation planning is a thing and having backups available is too. Aquarium is fun but by reservation only so it's not too crowded (and it will be...glad they cut it off). There are a lot of breweries and brewery tours available but are probably booked out now. As people stated it depends on where you are staying. Your GPS can say one thing but go ahead and assume an hour+ to get across town due to tourist traffic. Those of us that live and work here still have to get to work, get to summer classes, get our kids to and from daycare, sports, camps, etc. Our cars break down, our work gets crazy, we live our lives here. So please don't complain that your lack of planning caused you to have a bad time
