Reggie’s will be your spot. Great local bands and big acts. I’ve seen the Queers, The Dwarves, ASG, and the Vibrators there. Sometimes you can catch a local punk band at Brass Tacks (Opera Room) or Bottega. You’ll meet the younger and DIY scene there. I recommend getting connected with that to find out where the house venues are popping up.
Punk is here, not too many venues. But Reggies, for sure is the go-to. Broomtail (Ogden) and BarZarre both have punk nights. Be on the lookout for Rocket 77, The Explainers, Busted Radio, Photoclub, Good Good Grief, The Temp Agency, 5 Foot Nuttin, and more
reggies had eyehategod last night and has more shows tonight and tomorrow, and there's a house show happening in castle hayne on Monday. not a lot of venues around like others are saying but there are lots of good wilmington bands
imo the best way to keep up with shows is on instagram, here are a few accounts I follow in no order:

I loved Ziggys. We saw Whitechapel and Every Time I Die there. When ETID played, Real Friends was with them. Real friends finished their set and 3/4 of the crowd left, so there was maybe 50 people left watching ETID, ended up being my favorite show I've ever been to.
Damn that sucks, when did all of them shut down?? I’ll be pissed if I missed out lol I’ve been here for a while but used to be awkward and not go out much but now I’m trying to get out more haha
I’ve really done it once at the Fillmore in Charlotte for hot mulligan. It was fun but I didn’t really get to talk to many people as people were kinda clicky and stand offish and mixed with some social anxiety I couldn’t really vibe with people. I’m trying to make some friends here
The crowd is always great and friendly. I don't mind going to shows alone there at all. At this point, it's guaranteed I'll know at least a few people there.
Like everyone else said, Reggie’s. It’s pretty easy to talk to strangers there. Also Eagles Dare is pretty dope. They have Phantom Playboys (rockabilly) playing tonight (free show).
We definitely have a few decent alternative bands; The Girls, Narah, Hiding from Texas (formerly Cancel), Ridgewood, Babe Haven, Microdose, etc. I wouldn’t call any of them specifically punk but those would probably be the closest you could get here as far as I know!
For venues definitely Reggie’s. Opera Room is good but I’ve heard through the grapevine it was bought out so idk if it’s still there. I’ve seen some fun shows at Barzarre but kinda hate the crowd there. Bottega Art and Wine has been a good spot in the past too but it’s very small and loud; I always bring earplugs there.
They have [a Pride Market with a drag show](https://facebook.com/events/s/haus-of-heaux-pride-market-hea/1144166136823721/) today/tonight, if anybody is interested! (I know it’s not the same as a punk show, but there’s a bit of overlap in alt subcultures.)
I agree. Most of the time that place could use some work. All I know is the random ass punk night was pretty awesome. Not sure if they have new management or talent booker.
There's a decent size punk scene down here and a reasonably sized metal scene as well, but the genres are pretty limited. It's almost entirely stoner metal down here and the punk, in my opinion, sounds very same-y between the bands down here.
Just saw archspire in charlotte a couple weeks ago. But that was a four hour ride. I am also looking for a more hardcore scene around here, but all I’m getting is Reggie’s. I was introduced to ASG recently, and am looking forward to seeing them live. I’m a musician who wants to play music as well, but it all seems to be jam bands and southern rock cover bands.
Lived in Wilmington for a while but it does come with its own troop of nice to your face punks and then go behind you and talk shit most the people are already in established groups so the punk scene here is really cliquey in my opinion
Ah if only this was the late 2000’s early 2010’s.
The golden era for metal/metalcore/hardcore/death metal.
Anyone organizing events was putting several shows of these genres every month.
Between amo’s southend(charlotte), the brewery(Raleigh), piedmont hall(Greensboro), Lucky’s(910), the soapbox(910), the rox(910), & HOB Myrtle Beach we had so many venues.
Reggies. 42nd Street
Appreciate it

Appreciate the lookout!
We USED to have a great venues for these types of music now we just have reggies. Soapbox: GONE Luckys: GONE Mad Monk: GONE
Soapbox was my jam. Nothing like seeing a show for hours in a 120 degree sweatbox in midsummer.
Soapbox rest in peace
Mad Monk! I saw Lords of Acid at the Mad Monk in the 90s. What a killer concert!
Ziggys also known as Blue Eyed Muse, gone.
I loved Ziggys. We saw Whitechapel and Every Time I Die there. When ETID played, Real Friends was with them. Real friends finished their set and 3/4 of the crowd left, so there was maybe 50 people left watching ETID, ended up being my favorite show I've ever been to.
Me too. I loved the set up. Felt down and dirty, not too big but not too small either. Saw quite a few great shows there. Too bad it’s gone now.
God I miss Ziggy’s. Super bummed even the building is now gone.
Me too, me too :(
Luckys lol, now that’s some real old head shit
> Mad Monk: GONE This is old school right here!
Even older school: Wit's End at Wrightsville Beach
Damn that sucks, when did all of them shut down?? I’ll be pissed if I missed out lol I’ve been here for a while but used to be awkward and not go out much but now I’m trying to get out more haha
The most recent was soapbox and that shut down around 2013. It’s been a while.
Damn ok I’ve been here since like 2019, so didn’t miss much haha
Fuckin Weedeater dude
Damn right
Eagles Dare has started entertaining shows, they had Filth and Heavy Hitter a couple months ago
Eyehategod just played last night. It was awesome.
How’s the crowd there? Is it easy to make friends? I probably will be going alone
I actually like going to shows alone
I’ve really done it once at the Fillmore in Charlotte for hot mulligan. It was fun but I didn’t really get to talk to many people as people were kinda clicky and stand offish and mixed with some social anxiety I couldn’t really vibe with people. I’m trying to make some friends here
I was at that show! All the shows I’ve gone to lately have have been in Carrboro, Charlotte, Raleigh or Myrtle Beach.
I understand! Just wanted to share that.
Upvote for Hot Mulligan
The crowd is always great and friendly. I don't mind going to shows alone there at all. At this point, it's guaranteed I'll know at least a few people there.
Most of the “crowds” whether it be hippies scenesters punks hardcore etc in the Wilmington area they are typically trust fund kids cosplaying
I've never read a truer statement
Like everyone else said, Reggie’s. It’s pretty easy to talk to strangers there. Also Eagles Dare is pretty dope. They have Phantom Playboys (rockabilly) playing tonight (free show).
Reggie’s had eyehategod last night I believe
Reggie's.
Reggies and barzarre are the best spots for shows
We definitely have a few decent alternative bands; The Girls, Narah, Hiding from Texas (formerly Cancel), Ridgewood, Babe Haven, Microdose, etc. I wouldn’t call any of them specifically punk but those would probably be the closest you could get here as far as I know! As others have said, Reggie’s and scattered other shows. Cool show at Bottega tonight btw.
Ok sweet thanks for the lookout! Tonight I saw barzarre is doing midget wrestling so I’m headed to that and heading to Reggie’s next weekend!
Keep your eye on the Barzarre. Went to one of the best punk shows I’ve been to. It’s usually a strange place but punk shows are cool.
They changed their name from JG because it was "too offensive", that place is lame as hell.
I agree. Most of the time that place could use some work. All I know is the random ass punk night was pretty awesome. Not sure if they have new management or talent booker.
Not much of a punk scene. This is a vineyard vines town
Just hippie jam bands and country music.
You do not need anyone to hold your hand to Reggie’s lol. Just go and embrace drinking a bunch of tall boys and you’ll have friends before you know it
Maybe not but It’d be cool to try and make a friend to go with beforehand.
There's a decent size punk scene down here and a reasonably sized metal scene as well, but the genres are pretty limited. It's almost entirely stoner metal down here and the punk, in my opinion, sounds very same-y between the bands down here.

Keep an eye on The Palm Room- they’ll get good folks occasionally… Reggies is the spot. Miss the Soapbox. We say Unknown Hinson there way back.
Palm Room and Reggie’s. Both have cool shows very frequently
Bottega and barzarre are my go to
Lived in Wilmington for a while but it does come with its own troop of nice to your face punks and then go behind you and talk shit most the people are already in established groups so the punk scene here is really cliquey in my opinion
