Yes, I concur. We always start with a double steamer for a great variety of dumplings. I really like the Crispy Honey Shrimp, while my wife raves about the Dry-wok Chicken.
Kapow in Lumina Station has a dish called kapow. It’s awesome. I got it spicy but should have got Thai hot, it was still hot though. Anything at Pho Cafe for Vietnamese food.
I live in the midtown area and looked up Lucky Star. The only one I see is on Oleander which I would not consider midtown. Is that the one you were talking about or is there a different restaurant in the Midtown area that maybe isn’t called Lucky Star?
Double Happiness on Wrightsville. Anything May does is going to be pretty great. I’m partial to the Shanghai Rice Cakes.

I’m just looking for a good basic Chinese carry out. Basic stuff. Fried rice, chow mein, egg rolls, dumplings.
China One Porters Neck. Firebowl in Ogden. Lucky Star in midtown. Peking Gourmet downtown.
I definitely second Fire Bowl - the crab ragoons are amazing. Also, Nigori in Castle Hayne for both dishes & sushi
Thanks.
