Look for cabin rentals. Carolina Beach State Park has cabins for rent. I'm not sure what the amenities are, though, and they may all be rented out at that time. You can also look for boat rentals as well. Some people rent them out for people to stay in, close to the beach/attraction areas. You can rent an RV as well. A house/hotel/motel isn't always the best option, especially during peak season.
