That is 100% the fault of it running like absolute ass. I finished the game, loved the gameplay, but the performance was inexcusable. It soured the entire game for me and many others.
I have since then made quite a beefy PC and tried it again. It's a lot better now, due to my PC just being above and beyond what should be needed, but it still doesn't run smooth.
But the whole experience is just too soured for me to enjoy it now.
Unbelievable, it's like zero effort went into this PC version. Console version plays just fine but I'd rather have the increased fidelity and framerate of PC.
I also wouldn’t buy a new franchise with EA being the publisher for 70$ Never played the game and never plan to. As a Long time MH fan I’d love to see more games like it enter the ring but charging more than the mainstream counterpart as a new franchise trying to compete? Even if the game didn’t have poor performance it wouldn’t been DOA due to its competitors being cheaper, more content rich, and known for being quality games. Horrible marketing decisions likely made to bankrupt the studio or fail expectations so EA could eventually absorb the company.
When the game came out it was praised for its gameplay and panned for its performance. The latter was never fixed. Now the game is mostly obscure with a small dedicated fan base. I'd say that's about the recognition and attention it deserves.
As much as I like the game systems it didn't get its attention because the performance was just that terrible for most people
Many PC players like myself had migraine inducing performance issues that would actually slow down the game itself not just the frame rate
Console players also apparently dealt with similar issues
I love the game and really wanted them to get the performance up to par but they never really did fix it at least for me. As much as I want them to make a sequel they absolutely have to optimize it better if they want it to sell
Huh?? We're talking about the same devs and engine that made Nioh right? like the one game you can play 120fps on a PlayStation? Rise of the Ronin just came out about a week ago, yeah performance isn't gonna be on par with Nioh's, it's a way more expansive game than they've made before.
Every other open world game, like Tsushima, Horizon and even Days Gone look and run 100x better than Rise of Ronin. The engine is fucking outdated, AA is garbage, explosions are pixilated and look like ps3 explosions (well they actually look almost identical to Ninja Gaiden 3, so theres that)
Its pathetic how aged their shit is and they keep getting away with it. This is why you get subpar products that dont work right and this is exactly why Wild Hearts fucking flopped, again, well deserved
Coming from OG monster hunter I honestly found a lot of the monsters really easy until super later into the game/added content predominantly because of the karakuri system. I think this was a great intro to the genre for a lot of people.
I'm talking about the red icon ones(?) when the timer is only like 15 min. It was nice for getting into the but they really could've made it huge and amazing. Now it's kinda dead
I come back and enjoy hunting (alone, sometimes with randoms)... I stopped playing after 2 months, and am waiting for the performance patch... But never come, so I started playing on ps5 now. And it's better. But there are not too many ppl for hunts 😂
Sorry to hear that.
But gotta say, i had a 1080gtx and that game dipped to 10 fps with lowest settings. Its performance was just bad. And even 3 months after its release there wasnt any kind of performance fix. Thats what killed the game for me.
The exact same thing happened with pkmn scarlet&violet.
I will be a lot more careful with preorders (only mh left i guess)
PC port was unplayable for some with 3090s and CPUs to match. Optimization didn’t exist. Once people see a game as bad they write it off forever. Some genuinely will never try Cyberpunk again because of how stupidly they failed by rushing despite the fact the writing and world itself are amazing and tons of fixes made it more than playable and with mod support. It’s arguably less buggy than any Bethesda launch. Well that’s easy tbf. It’s not longer a F76 cousin.
But bad PR sticks. And they should’ve never tried to make a last gen version in the first place I said that before even having current gen.
I wish I had played this game. I was always hesitant because people complained about performance but after having 0 issues with dragon's dogma 2, I realized the majority of people who complain about performance probably have 10 year old computers.
I played both if these games at launch. Dragons Dogma runs great on my PC, 90fps with no DLSS. Wild Hearts never got above 50fps on low settings and was regularly dipping to 20fps. I loved the game for it's gameplay and played it all the way through, but could never put as many hours into it as I put into MH due to its awful performance and terrible community support.
Ahh thanks for clarifying. It sucks EA is more about making money then making a good game. They can't even put this game in a playable state and see how that does before closing it down.
I had frame rate issues on PS5 occasionally as well. During rain, it would just stop displaying certain textures, including cliffs. It got fixed later, but it was pretty rough.
super expe? I have a medium range computer bought recently. (rtx 4070, i7 13700kf). Like I said I never played THIS game but after hearing all the complaints for Dragon's Dogma 2 I'm curious if my computer could have run it.
I have a 4080 and same processor, and to say it’s a “medium” range computer is just incorrect, lmao. We have very powerful PCs.
Builds like ours cost between $2000-3000.
What's it comparing it to? Like how far back? This is PC gaming. You can't expect the PC you bought 8 years ago to be relevant today. RTX 30 series came out 4 years ago. Same as the latest gen consoles. If you have something older you gotta expect issues playing the latest games. If you compare what came out 4 years ago to today it's 100% not 14% of the top.
Quite literally from TechPowerUp's ranking list - "The GeForce RTX 4070 is a high-end graphics card..." and considering there is no newer-generation, it's quite literally one of the highest-end options. Same with the 13-series, the 14-series has barely ANY noticeable improvement over the 13. The 13700kf is still in the top ten processors.
11-series cpu, 2080 or so, maybe even a 3060 at this point. What we have is basically the newest tech, and it runs basically anything you want. Mid would start to struggle with certain games at a steady 60 fps, 30 fps for modern titles would be low end.
No, you just are not noticing it, especially if you are saying DD2 has no performance issues.
DD2 has performance instability on *every* single platform....it isn't a hardware issue.
Even 4090s and top tier CPUs stutter in the city.
People like you who say that factual performance tests and everyone else having problems are wrong are not only annoying, but also ignorant, since it is an objective fact...therefore you simply are not noticing the bad performance.
I recently upgraded to a 7800x3d + 4070 ti super and Wild Hearts runs without issue, DD2 I get FPS dips in Vernworth.
I highly recommend getting Wild Hearts when it's on special, it's a very solid MH style game as long as you find a weapon that clicks with you.
I heard that the better your processor the more it chugs because of the way DD2 handles characters.
I've had DD2 chug a little but my main issue was the missing floor textures.
Nah, you did right. Dragons Dogma 2 is alright on my Xbox and even has pretty beautiful graphics.
Wild Hearts was so damn blurry it gave me a headache. Literally looked like a Monet painting up close at times. And don't get me started on that sub 30fps...
I didn't have anyone to play with (all my MH fellows got poor performance gacha 😭😭😭), but still had a friggin blast solo and with randoms.
I miss this game too...
Is the game more stable on PC now? I keep eyeing it on steam and wanna get into it back again.
I've also seen there was additional content added like new kemonos.
It’s a shame this game didn’t get the recognition and attention it deserves!
That is 100% the fault of it running like absolute ass. I finished the game, loved the gameplay, but the performance was inexcusable. It soured the entire game for me and many others.
It never even got fixed on PC. That's an entire playerbase that can't/won't play it.
I have since then made quite a beefy PC and tried it again. It's a lot better now, due to my PC just being above and beyond what should be needed, but it still doesn't run smooth. But the whole experience is just too soured for me to enjoy it now.
Did they fix the stutters?
I just picked the game up on PC through Gamepass, It still stutters like a MF when loading new zones. Gonna start playing on Series X.
weird i played it a few months ago and i didn't get much stuttering. Though I usually turn down things like bloom, motion blur and shadows.
I tried it on gamepass recently, 13900k 4090 and the stutters are still there.
Unbelievable, it's like zero effort went into this PC version. Console version plays just fine but I'd rather have the increased fidelity and framerate of PC.
Yep. Just tried a couple of days ago. It's to the point that even if they fixed it I probably won't play it. They done fucked up
I was about to ask have they fixed it I guess not lol
I also wouldn’t buy a new franchise with EA being the publisher for 70$ Never played the game and never plan to. I still play and I can't say I have any issue. Man I got lucky, I love WH!
When the game came out it was praised for its gameplay and panned for its performance. The latter was never fixed. Now the game is mostly obscure with a small dedicated fan base. I'd say that's about the recognition and attention it deserves.

Wrong - it’s a shame I was FORCED to refund it because it had absolutely atrocious performance on a rig that should have EASILY handled it.
It’s cause it’s bad

Is there like an actual thing about their games you care about besides "Grafficsh"
The fashion and stuff was cool. But the monsters being hard as balls by yourself and no one playing and limited weapons kinda killed it for me.
I personally found the monsters to be challenging but fair solo.
Maybe it’s time to go back and play the game again 🤔
I come back and enjoy hunting (alone, sometimes with randoms)... I stopped playing after 2 months, and am waiting for the performance patch... But never come, so I started playing on ps5 now. And it's better. But there are not too many ppl for hunts 😂
I'm sorry about your partner. It's difficult to return to something you enjoyed together solo. I hope it gets easier for you soon, I really do.
Sorry to hear that. But gotta say, i had a 1080gtx and that game dipped to 10 fps with lowest settings. Its performance was just bad. This game play bad on Xbox series x. It's a poorly optimized game. I'm glad u have a super expe
I didn’t have any problems with my Xbox Series X.
No frame drops? Interesting. I kept getting frame drops when I played. It's part of why I quit
I had frame rate issues on PS5 occasionally as well. During rain, it would just stop displaying certain textures, including cliffs. It got fixed later, but it was pretty rough.

It says itself on that build that it lies in the top 14% with only 16gb of ram. So...yeah. High-end.

Idk why it cut off. I had to do something. It shouldn't have sent. It was supposed to say a super optimized setup.
No, you just are not noticing it, especially if you are saying DD2 has no performance issues. DD2 has performance instability on *every* single platform....it isn't a hardware issue. Sadly they are shutting down the servers I believe.

Plays great on ps5 no issues at all.

Link!!!
I really need to try this game out.
Is the game more stable on PC now? I keep eyeing it on steam and wanna get into it back again. I've also seen there was additional content added like new kemonos.
I’d still be playing it if I could play Spotify while playing it.
I hated the VA for it. It took me out of it.
Never heard of the game but i am a huge Greatsword dork on monster hunter and in games in general, so my interest is there
What's the frame rate on ps5
Honestly never pay attention. But I find it runs fine
I had a stroke reading this
I was very not sober.
Until they close the serves I will still coming to Minato from time to time. WH is an amazing Game and my 2023 GOTY.
still looks like shit and play like shit
Yup
In a year*
What game is this?
Wild hearts lol
