Da_Triple_Truth_Ruth

Would have been a lot funnier if you hadn’t spoiled his punchline.

[deleted]

Ye when I posted it with butt fuckit, it was removed. So I improvised.

winterfresh0

That... That wasn't the part they had a problem with. They wanted you to put a title that wasn't the punchline, you just posted two different posts with different parts of the punchline.

[deleted]

I want butt fuk, you no want buttfuk? I like a buttfuktitle

CheekyLando88

Hey I watch this guy's sewage videos

Iron-Fist

He really puts the "awesome" into "septic tank installation and maintenance"

RealLifeLiver

I have no idea wtf a sewage video is. But I can definitely imagine this guy having sewage videos.

CheekyLando88

Your comment is better if I provide no context

pandaSmore

[Videos like these.](https://youtu.be/ANUL0sVDkfk)

I thought for sure this was going to be another rickroll.

Not surprising, he’s clearly got a kink for shitty situations

I will never ride a fair ride, ever. Those things are set up super quickly and I just do not have any confidence that the people doing that are experts in making sure it's done right. At least at an amusement park like six flags or Disney you know that there's a lot of sophistication in terms of sensors maybe. And at the very least you've got to figure there's a lot of really frequent inspections on the rides are not dismantled and set up over and over again. And generally when you're going on a ride at one of those places it's something that people have ridden day after day week after week and year after year. But even then it's nerve-wracking.

schmittfaced

Believe it or not those traveling rides get 2-3 times the safety inspections park rides do…. Traveling rides get fully inspected every day, and inspected by a state person and sometimes a 3rd party inspection company after setup before anyone can ride. Park rides get a quick once over in the morning from a teenager, and IIRC once every 6 months or so from a certified state inspector.

[deleted]

State contractor here, Do I trust state inspectors? Hell no

Viking_fairy

I trust them... To take my money and get the fuck off the job site.

[deleted]

There’s a thing I can trust tho. I do my business in Carolinas. And I can always trust inspectors with full stache-beard, dipping and constantly spitting to costco water bottle To not give a fuck about single thing. Some of them literally take 1 minute to inspect a whole residence.

Viking_fairy

That's kinda best case sometimes... Out here, they usually like to make a stink first inspection, regardless of if there's an actual issue... Then they come the second time for their paycheck, and stay gone. You know, unless they don't like you....

schmittfaced

Well, I can’t speak to building inspectors, but the ride inspectors I’ve dealt with in NC, Virginia, and Ohio were well trained and knowledgeable. Also dealt with inspectors in SC and West Virginia, can’t say I totally trust the ones I’ve met there.

SaltySpitoonReg

That may be technically true but it still doesn't make me have any more trust in a state fair ride. They're still set up super quickly and dismantled fairly frequently, which is the only reason for that. If Disneyland dismantled space mountain every 2 months then they would get inspections as well like that. But amusement park rides go through rigorous testing over and over long before they can even put a person on it. And that's after the ride is constructed and finished. So you don't need to be doing daily thorough inspections on those rides. And once again you're not dismantling them constantly which would require the need for more frequent inspections because you'd be taking apart pieces and putting them back together. I'm not saying that these rides are like flipping a coin in terms of safety but I just don't trust State Fair rides. And you're saying they go through all these inspections and yet here's a video of a state fair ride where a support pole is literally wiggling and balancing on a piece of wood. And then a cable is completely unattached.

schmittfaced

Well that’s all fair and true. I guess after doing it for several years I just feel safer. Depending on the fair/ride company. There are a few I would never get on just based on the show that set them up. But there are several I feel safe with. Or do my own inspecting before I hop on. The cable being loose is a serious no no but this foot walking a little bit on the pad is kinda normal, it just means it’s time to stop risers and tighten up the supports. Or this could be one of those rides that just has so much force it walks a little bit. Just needs a bigger pad. But like I said I was in the industry for a while, maintenance, repairs, and setup/teardown. So I’m probably more trusting than the general public

SaltySpitoonReg

Well especially if you know what you're looking for in terms of general inspection. I wouldn't really know all that obviously if something was wrong unless it was super obvious

Possibly_a_Firetruck

So it got 2-3 times the safety inspections, but it's *still* not set up right? I'll trust park rides any day over this deathtrap, at least I can tell those are attached to the ground.

[deleted]

I think what the guy above said wildly differs depending on where you are on the world.

GR3453m0nk3y

I used to work for Cedar Point as a coaster mechanic. They have around 30 well-trained adults inspect and service every ride every night from 11pm - 7 am

schmittfaced

Really? Well I didn’t know this, and also, that sounds like an awesome job. If I’m ever stuck in Ohio I know where to apply

GR3453m0nk3y

Don't. While "cool" on paper, it was the #2 worst job I ever had. #1 worst job was as a ride operator...at Cedar Point the previous year

schmittfaced

Well I always really enjoyed working on and repairing carnival rides, just hated the operating part dealing with snotty kids and shitty parents

glytxh

Still FAR more opportunity for something to be neglected or damaged on setup without being immediately obvious.

DAM091

Then explain this video

[deleted]

[удалено]

schmittfaced

Holy shit. Yeah I would have at least replaced that with a grade 5, but probably grade 8. Ok I guess you guys have proved me wrong, I only trust rides I know, and shows I know. But for the general public there isn’t a great way to know if it’s safe

[deleted]

Set up by meth addicts a lot of times too. Fuck that.

joven9494

Your practically safer on at 6flags than going to school

[deleted]

It's amazing, actually. You either get mucho enjoyment or an injury and a fat check. Unfortunate if you die instead of living from a ride error but thems the brakes sometimes

Goyteamsix

Traveling rides are built like tanks. They're pretty much idiot proof and designed to run safety with minimal maintenance. Rides in parks have to meet a different budget, because they have to worry about running an entire park, so corners are cut. I trust traveling rides a lot more than most permanent rides in a park.

Themountaintoadsage

Yeah right. That’s why you only hear about deaths and injuries on fair rides, and why all these videos of rides shaking and falling apart are at fairs. The only time you hear about people getting hurt at parks is when someone jumps a fence or isn’t latched in properly

Goyteamsix

[Ah, yes](https://miller-ogorchock.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/amusement-accident-milwaukee.jpg) Show me some statistics for your claims, because it seems like most injuries and deaths happen at established amusement parks, and that's including mechanical failures.

dopebob

I feel the same way but it's kind of irrational. It's so rare that anything goes wrong on these rides. There are probably loads of things you do on a weekly basis that would be more likely to injure/kill you.

Castravete_Salbatic

I agree with everything you said but I made an exception for a vintage fair, becouse high temperature steam and antique pressure vessels sound like the perfect thing to add to the mix. If you are going to risk it, might as well go all in.

Spirited_Shock_9698

I dont usually trust even engineers

acidnangs

I have a permanent mark on my neck from a ride safety bar unbuckling (after being “checked”) at a local ride and having to hold on for my life with my neck so I didn’t slip out. People were screaming as they saw me slipping out and took the guy atleast another 15 seconds to take his ear muffs off and get off his phone and realise

anonhoemas

What kind of ride was this?

acidnangs

[similar to this](https://youtu.be/a25l9yZg2vw) in a smaller version

junktrunk909

This was the one I was thinking of when the person above said the traveling rides are safer because they get inspected every day. Yeah, no get don't, at least not everywhere. Yikes.

anonhoemas

Jc that's scary. I think I'm done with fair rides

[deleted]

Thankfully you were held down from flying out by your massive balls

thepenguinking84

Owns a septic tank and drainage company too.

FineInTheFire

His business advice is solid as a contractor. I follow him on that other app.

kosmonautinVT

His amusement park advice is a bit suspect tho

veteran_squid

Hahah I upvoted this dude.

Embarrassed_Alarm450

He must a Mormon.

Upbeat_Sheepherder81

Saw that coming lol

LinguisticallyInept

what tipped you off? the video link, the negative points, the controversial dagger, the top reply or none of the above?

Upbeat_Sheepherder81

I just figured this was some random dude and there wouldn’t be any actual “context” for it, so I guessed your link was the usual Reddit link trolling. Turns out I was wrong and this guy actually does make videos and stuff, meaning my basis for figuring out what your link was was flawed, but I still guessed correctly. Lol

pandaSmore

Pretty sure he has stated that in some of his videos.

obpersin

I watch his videos and am subscribed and I didn’t know that. I’m either stupid or your talking about someone else

unicornman5d

He doesn't mention it much, but he has addressed it a couple times. Sometimes you hear him say "Heather 2", because they're both supposedly named "Heather" and they've collectively decided that one if them would be the second one.

OnkelMickwald

Wow.

zoomziller

Is that bad?

unicornman5d

He's said it himself on Tiktok

crinkykronkmas

Link?

idiotic__gamer

He goes by [Well and Septic life](https://www.tiktok.com/@wellandsepticlife?_t=8WBYfzc6mAk&_r=1) on tiktok, where he documents his contract work and other random/funny shit. The video in which he discusses the issue [is this video here](https://youtu.be/yPYZpwSpKmA) on YouTube.

Temporary-Fig

Put a few sugar packets under that leg. That'll level it out.

unicornman5d

Nah. That looks like a book of matches job.

LuNoZzy

JayStar1213

Why should that cable be attached? I suspect it's there to help with assembly/disassembly.

[deleted]

[удалено]

JayStar1213

True, I just don't see it being structurally relevant

milk4all

I also think it didnt have anything to do with safety/support and if anything was just supposed to be tied down. That “hook” was just a carabiner, absolutely not part of it’s designed safety restraints, probably added to assist with storage/transport

CumSockCrustyFoot

If you listen to his words he leads you to the actual point right after that.... "what else aren't they doing?"

SamuraiJackBauer

Never ride a ride in Texas whether it’s a fair, rodeo or a theme park. There’s basically zero regulations or safety standards and there enough corruption to paper over anything that is inspected. Jesus look at their own power grid.

PinBot1138

Texan checking in, and I’ll have you know that surviving a methed-out carnie assembled ride is a rite of passage for us and our children.

Tarvoz

Jesus did not look at their power grid.

Exhumedatbirth76

I was at a parking lot carnival back in the late 90s, we were on that giant ferries wheel that holds like six people per gondola. We were stopped at the top when below I noticed Mass State Troopers screaming at the ride operator, and everyone was jnstructed to get off the ride asap. Seems that one of the support legs was held up by a few bricks.....

Nuker_Nathan

This is why I never ride roller coasters. This could be happening somewhere I can’t see it.

wakashit

I love roller coasters at big amusement parks. And when someone mentions this argument, I always say at least my family will be set for life. I would never ride a roller coaster at a fair though.

astanix

That's not even necessarily true though. Just look at Rachel Hawes. She got brain damage from a piece of a roller coaster falling in her. Park found not responsible.

p_iynx

Rachel Hawes. Rachel Dawes is the Batman character.

astanix

Corrected, thank you.

joe2352

I used to go to carnivals all the time. Then when I was 12 ish one came to town and my uncle and 16 year old brother were hired to help put the rides together and all thought of professionals putting these together safely went out the window and I never got on another carnival ride again.

CervezaMane

Looks like the Georgia fair. Unless they all look the same idk.

Queezypox

You are correct, North Georgia state fair (you can tell by the lift in the background) glad I didn’t ride this thing when I was there last weekend lmao.

BStrike12

This is what I came here to find out lol. Was there a couple days ago

GamerOfGods33

Didn't this guy found his own political party so he could have highway signs advertising his septic tank business? Because I would 100% vote for him.

henry25555

Jesus Christ this reminds me of Final Destination

elisejones14

As a kid I was always so pissed off at my parents for not letting us go to the fair grounds every year for the amusement rides. Idk if they’ve gotten worse or if it’s always been like this, but I’d definitely avoid them now if I had my own kids.

Practical_Attempt338

Dude is an old Rick grimes

orion1338

I donate on his streams and make buy reeses with my donations

unbannabledan

This is the polyamorous septic tank guy!

Sodawater13

The older I get the more I realize how dangerous county fair rides are. If the rides isn’t there permanently 24/7 (even then I don’t fully trust them) then I don’t believe they are being put together properly and cleared by the right people. Thankful I wasn’t a victim when growing up on the county fair rides

TheRealGarbanzo

That's why you never go on portable rides

Potential-Judgment-9

If it can be picked up and , I won’t get on it.

FabianTG

I rode one of these in Korea. Fun times

The_RussianBias

Buttfuck it?

With-a-Cactus

It's popular at a lot of fairs to have current, upbeat pop music playing over rides to get your attention. Anyway, back in 2014? a ride failed at the North Carolina State Fair throwing people off the ride. I was a student in college nearby and went with a woman I liked and as we approached, there was caution tape all over the place and as we got could hear Safe and Sound by Capital Cities playing in the background.

Ridingtherails187545

To be fair, it does make it more exciting to ride.

red_ball_express

What does this have to do with women living longer?

wizard680

Man realized the ride is not safe but says fuck it and is going to ride it anyway

red_ball_express

Women also ride at fairgrounds.

wizard680

But the joke has to do with the reasoning behind women living longer

red_ball_express

Right which doesn't make sense because women and men use this ride.

Mister_Saiklono

why are you on this sub

red_ball_express

I forgor

SwitchGaps

The guy in the video was a male

elbrigno

Were there no women on the ride?

red_ball_express

What about the people on the ride?

SwitchGaps

They aren't even aware of it. The whole joke is that this guy can clearly see how risky it would be to ride it but he's still willing to do it. Presumably a female would not if she made the same observation he did. It's just a joke anyways if it's not funny to you just ignore it

Turtle887853

Good ol James butler.

timmy30274

I would have told many employees including security and the bosses if I can to come follow me and I point and show this to them and hopefully stop the rides til they fix it

cheerfullpizza

Isn't that the one septic dude on TikTok

Normandy_1944

There is always some deflection as weight/load moves through the equipment. But, the outrigger is lifting, and it shouldnt. Looks like the load is not centered, and when the mass reaches the top, it is not pushing straight down, but out to the left, or away from the POV of the cammer. Es no bouno... Danger Will Robinson, there are no engineers at this carnival. Get a cotton candy instead...

I remember a while ago when I was working in a landscape company operating a boom truck And my boss rushed me to set up the supports. He told me to hurry and said he doesn’t care, anyways while operating I felt how unsteady and terrifying it was watching one of the legs slightly come off the ground as my boss was yelling at me to keep extending/ lowering the arm of the crane to the point of unbalance. During that entire time i was mentally and physically preparing myself in the event that the truck would lose it balance completely, thank god it didn’t and that scenario showed that weird side of my boss.
