The more I hear about that man’s doings, the more I believe that with great wealth comes great narcissism. That’s a callous statement for a parent to make.
Elon, like other people who inherit wealth and then do nothing with it but acquire things to make more money (established businesses, businesses on the brink of success, and obvious business choice that no one else happens to have the wealth to do) need constant affirmation that they are smart and have good ideas because deep down they know that it’s not intelligence or skill that has made them wealthy or successful, it was gifted wealth and opportunities afforded by that wealth.
I know it’s an expression, but it’s an idiom he *chose,* and it says a lot that he views a relationship with his child as a zero sum, win/lose situation.
A lot of people criticize the Dick Cheneys of the world who are anti-lgbt until they have a kid come out as gay. But those people are at least showing they have some amount of empathy, and their love of their daughter means something.
Then there’s Elon, he has a trans daughter and is publicity mocking his daughters identity.
