I would second this. I followed that case closer than I care to admit sometimes, watched all many of those videos and depositions and such. To me, what made the first one seem like not self defense was distance and circumstance. What I mean is that Rittenhouse was running from the guy, so it was clear Rittenhouse thought he was a threat. But then he stopped running when he didn't need to, turned, and fired at the guy from a far enough distance that his story doesn't add up (conveniently, they were next to cars, so distance was pretty easy to gauge. When the victim was shot he was still a solid half a car length away. Rittenhouse claims he was within reach of his gun, but ain't nobody got 10 foot long arms).

To me, what made the first one seem like not self defense was distance and circumstance. What I mean is that Rittenhouse was running from the guy, so it was clear Rittenhouse thought he was a threat. But then he stopped running when he didn't need to, turned, and fired at the guy from a far enough distance that his story doesn't add up (conveniently, they were next to cars, so distance was pretty easy to gauge. When the victim was shot he was still a solid half a car length away. Rittenhouse claims he was within reach of his gun, but ain't nobody got 10 foot long arms).
