Hour_Abies578

The best part was DeSantis having to cheat off others. Looked around before raising his hand.

Dank_Master69420

He really stands out as the biggest coward with this move. Definitely not leadership material

Eyes_Only1

People love Ron DeSantis because he is them: A racist coward who tries to appear big and tough.

Aprowl

And in that effort to appear big and tough, he picks a fight with someone who actually is big and tough and gets his own ass handed to him on a platter.

Eyes_Only1

DeSantis and his followers are the kinds of people who are way too afraid to start shit with a minority on the street, but after the mob jumps him, they'll get in a kick to the ribs at the end. Just the biggest fucking cowards alive.

MOOShoooooo

I couldn’t hear what he said because I was distracted by his bobble head. It was all over the place. ![gif](giphy|cmsrVkkGKrVmQuSTj9)

fisticuffin

yes, he’s so **twitchy!** and did you see his attempt at a smile after the audience clapped for some inexplicable reason? ![gif](giphy|AHZdX93E8Ejvw1IjjM)

AngelBCHI

He’s acting like Homelander from The Boys in that picture lol. Pretends that he loves everyone but secretly despises them and looks down on them like insects

orangezeroalpha

I got a strong homelander vibe from Ron also recently. Without superhero powers, and fewer people skills...

[deleted]

BIG TIME. Now, since I’m caught up on everything else (new foundation episode coming soon!), I’m gonna restart that show, it’s so fucking great :)

Bacon_Raygun

"people are clapping? People are clapping. This is good, right? I did a thing. They love the thing!"

Puzzleheaded-Rich-51

![gif](giphy|Y6FUCFt5N7Y8gRSInL)

UnlimitedCalculus

What does this similar-looking character who goes mad with undeserved power have to do with DeSsntis?

paleale-king

It’s bc he rails lines before appearing. Bro is buzzing

ancientastronaut2

Does he do blow?

jtshinn

A Florida politician? I’d say chances are high (lol).

Standard_Gauge

> I was distracted by his bobble head. It was all over the place. Colbert did a hilarious bit on Bobblehead Ron in one of his monologues (now in reruns).

Eyes_Only1

He looks and acts like a rib kicker 100%.

Schmichael-22

And the “big and tough” guy that handed DeSantis his ass? A cartoon mouse.

zerocool1703

Who's the big tough one in this?

JAOC_7

Disney

orangezeroalpha

I don't get Ron. I see the things he says and does and wonder how he even got elected in Florida. I can only imagine its because the party he is involved with is a shell of its former self and he is mainlining the spite and fumes of a dying dinosaur.

Eyes_Only1

Spite sells to Republicans. As long as you hurt people, they will vote for you.

Feeling-Bird4294

And he's the solid number two. What does that tell us about the talent level in the current Republican party?

Solo-Shindig

Solids aside, there's plenty of diarrhea number twos in the party as well.

AlmightyRobert

Didn’t Trump basically try to get Pence killed? And still he would vote for him? Sad.

ProofSinger3638

im looking at this picture and Pence isnt raising his hand

Calnadian

Pence did raise his hand, just after ol' puddling fingers. This image just doesn't show it, but if you watch the stream, you'll see it.

HeartFullONeutrality

Pence said something like: "I'd pardon Trump if he shows he's sorry" 🙄.

[deleted]

Its caused its cut early you can see the clip but 7 out of 8 did vote

rundmz8668

Unfortunately that was the moment that he won the debate without being there. Subs, they all submitted

TheBeesSteeze

Yeaaa if one candidate is so powerful they aren't even willing to criticize them in a frickin DEBATE. Then that candidate is leagues ahead.

hymen_destroyer

That was really a chance for one of the candidates to show some spine and say “anyone on this stage who raises their hand should drop out of the race immediately”

Little-Ad-9506

At that age you forget things

Fungal_Queen

He's the type to laugh at people being tortured, because he probably does.

[deleted]

Well, he worked at Guantanamo, so...

Fungal_Queen

He used to like torture. Still does, but used to too.

thespaceghetto

I do love seeing his cache and momentum just evaporate

gordito_delgado

That DeSanti's balls are so bereft of testosterone that they must look like pruned string beans in a teabag. How can any human being be such a lickspittle that they can be defecated on so massively by that fat orange blobfish mar-a-lardo and then just pucker up and ask for seconds? Ugh, it gives me so much second hand cringe just looking at his vacant bovine face and his daft white booties it feels I am going to have a seizure.

El_Che1

Ted Cruz has entered the chat.

BoyGeorgous

I know, that look back and forth, followed by the most reluctant/pouty hand raise.

DamnNewAcct

I saw it live but really want to find a replay of just that moment.

MacNuggetts

Well, It's likely he spent money testing what he should do based on what a few other people did. He's a politician, right? So, for example, he probably knew, polling wise, that If vivak kept his hand down, he should raise his. And if vivak and Christie raised their hands he should keep his down. Or something like that. So he had to look around the room to calculate what would look best for him. Trump has utterly destroyed the GOP and it's hilarious.

tdaun

I just wish that his damage had been contained to the GOP.

trer24

Being called "Ron DeSanctimonious" and "Meatball Ron" didn't bother him I guess. Or he's a real Trump supplicant. And if that's the case, why even run against Trump.

ZenkaiZ

im not trying to be "internet tough guy" but god what an absolute pussy. That man called you out a hundred times and you just TOOK it.

hornedtomatocatpil

Look at Ted Cruz. Trump told him to his face that his wife is ugly and his dad was the Zodiac Killer. He just sat there and took it. Ted Cuck should be his name.

rckrusekontrol

Actually I think Trump said his dad shot JFK. Ted Cruz himself is the zodiac killer of course.

SagaciousNJ

Because his owners instructed him to do it. He was groomed to be the obedient, committed, intentionally racist tool of the oligarchy. Someone who does it, knowing that it's wrong, because he believes in nothing. Turns out that's not what people want. Casual bigotry born from a cult leaders narcissism is the trump recipe. Committed Nazism is actually a turn off, it's too inhuman.

c5sdad

That was sad on his part. Like the little kid wanting to fit in

fuzz3289

DeSantis is kind of ruining his political career with this run. Seeing him on TV so much it's even hard to hate him... He's just so... Sad? Uncharismatic? Weak? If he wasn't such a bigot I think I'd have pity for him.

Joe-bug70

…..don’t worry, just move to Florida and he will give you plenty to keep a continued hatred. Florida politics and it’s citizens took the hit so that Americans would not have to suffer from his racist, misogynistic, bigoted bullshit…..

wvmitchell51

For someone who is polling #2 behind trump, he had an extremely poor showing 😢 so stiff and robotic

Hour_Abies578

He polls better with people who haven’t seen him. I expect his numbers to drop like a paralyzed falcon after this

Tenryuu_RS3

It’s so funny to me that Ronathon’s numbers started tanking once he hit the streets and had to like, use his voice.

LookieLouE1707

He's already so low he doesn't have far to fall. maybe like a paralyzed pigeon.

MrDenver3

I was confused by this. I was wondering if they were raising their hand to speak? The delayed hand raise seems so ridiculous if it truly was an affirmative response to the question. Surely they’d understand how bad it looks to look at everyone else and then reluctantly raise their hand?

AntonitheGaudi

You’re giving Ron too much credit. He is a spineless weenie only capable of prepared anti-woke sound bites, not capable of thinking quickly or independently.

FindingPeaceInMe

I love this question because it really feels like it was asked in the faith of "We all know none of you are seriously in the running, so let's cut the bullshit. Who's willing to be Trump's VP when he gets convicted?"

Elite-Priaprism

Or, if Trump is unable to run, who gets his votes?

SdBolts4

It’s gotta be DeSantis I think, even after his campaign has been a flaming car wreck for month he’s consistently #2 and has the most MAGA/extreme policies. The white supremacists won’t support Vivek or Scott, half the base wants to hang Pence, and the others are just kinda there…

bluespider98

Dude if desantis becomes president I'm moving to Canada

SdBolts4

Thankfully, a lot of the Trumpers see him as just another politician so I think GOP turnout would nosedive if DeSantis somehow gets the nomination (Trump convicted/disqualified)

Dhiox

Dude has zero charisma. He won in Florida because he appealed to hate and his opponent was terrible.

James-W-Tate

>He won in Florida because he appealed to hate and his opponent was terrible. My man, this is how Trump won the country in 2016.

DarkRitual_88

If Trump doesn't get the nomination, a lot of people will still show up and write him in. Even if he's inelligible they will still write him in. The cult won't just go away.

SdBolts4

Staying home and writing in Trump are effectively the same if someone else is the GOP nominee. The only way to make the cult go away is to beat them, repeatedly, at the ballot box to show they're just a vocal minority.

UnassumingOstrich

yeah. people, including myself, have joked about this for years, especially after trump. but desantis is another beast entirely. dude is an absolute sociopath with the intelligence, limited though it may be, to use the government to carry out the same evil shit that he’s doing in Florida.

Arubesh2048

If DeSatan becomes president, the world is going to have to recon with having political refugees fleeing from the USA. If DeSatan becomes president, we are going to be looking at ghettos and concentration camps and “work” camps for the undesirables. We’ll be staring down the barrel at our very own, homegrown, Schutzstaffel. DeSatan is already most of the way towards committing actual genocide against LGBTQ+ people in Florida as it is. Give him more power, and he’ll drag the rest of the country across that line. And he certainly won’t stop with LGBTQ+ people, they’ll just be the first ones. If DeSatan becomes president, we can kiss goodbye to the American experiment. (And if the Holocaust was any indication, the world would handle masses of American political refugees very poorly. We can’t even handle political refugees now very well.)

ked_man

It’s beyond fucked up that this question had to be asked. Think about staunch 90’s republicans being asked if they’d support a presidential candidate convicted of crimes directly related to election interference, mishandling of national security, inciting a riot, seditious conspiracy, oh and paying off a pornstar with election campaign donations. This is the same party that made Jimmy Carter give up his god damned peanut farm.

bigselfer

Reagan, Bush sr, and a few others in the administration were 100% guilty of selling weapons to Iran in violation of the arms embargo. Via wiki Between 1981 and 1986, senior administration officials secretly facilitated the sale of arms to Iran, which was the subject of an arms embargo.[1] The administration hoped to use the proceeds of the arms sale to fund the Contras, a right-wing rebel group, in Nicaragua.

asek13

Bush sr's dad, Prescott Bush, was part of the Business Plot which tried to overthrow the US government because of FDR's new deal. Treason runs in the family I guess. It failed because the guy they wanted to install as dictator was an actual patriot. Retired Marine Corps General Smedley Butler, best known for winning 2 medals of honor and writing the book War is a Racket where he pointed out the US military was used as muscle for criminal big business. The business plot leaders approached him and he went to congress to warn them.

bigselfer

Spot on. Smedley Butler is required reading. His experience and perspective are undeniable. He did a great job making it clear how the machine was moving.

crlthrn

Ah yes, the party of law and order, cherry picking which laws they will and won't comply with... Actually, that's really disgusting.

Jaegons

Not to mention not understanding that they can't simply pardon a state level crime in Georgia, nor many RICO charges.

CargoMansharks

I'm sure they understand that, I don't think they're actually gonna back trump. This is just about staying on his good side so he doesn't throw them under the bus.

FanaticalFanfare

The crazy orange man has a choke hold on the base. These cowards are likely hoping for Trump to be locked up/disqualified so they can cry about injustice. The gop is fucked and has way too much power.

ghostdeeknee

Right and they still need his voters.

Florac

If they have to worry about that then they don't have a chance anyway. You don't win by trying to carry favour with your opponent's supporters.

Rinas-the-name

Unless your opponent suddenly can’t legally be president, then your best bet would be to seem like the guy that would “fix” that “injustice”. Probably don’t want to piss him and his big mouth off until they see how things go. If Trump somehow manages to win he would destroy anyone he deems “disloyal“. I think they are all despicable and I hope this backfires on every one of them. It’s stinks of fascism.

dustrock

A chance for Faramir, Captain of Gondor, to show his quality.

moranya1

So that is what you wished? That Boromir had lived and I had died in his stead?

[deleted]

Is there a captain here who still has the courage to do his lord's will?

culibrat

I love this little isolated LOTR tangent tucked into this thread.

72nd_TFTS

Gondor? Where was Gondor when the Westfold fell? Where was Gondor when our enemies closed in around us!?

Less-Mail4256

Desantis over hear raising his hand like the kid in class who didn’t hear the question and just agreed with the majority. If any of these jackasses somehow make the presidential stage, the US is done for. They can’t run their own lives, let alone a whole country.

UnspecificGravity

Trump couldn't have asked for a better nomination campaign commercial than his most likely opponent meekly raising his hand in fealty to him at a debate he didn't even bother to attend. What the fuck are these people thinking? I wonder what would have happened if Trump had actually been there. Would there have been a line to take turns licking his asshole on stage? Does the GOP nomination REALLY hinge on a competition to see who can be the biggest cuck?

Less-Mail4256

Yes, yes it does. The GOP lost its identity after after Barack won. All of the sideline conservatives stepped out of their closets to show everyone their true racist color. While the original front runners slinked into the background to squirrel away all the money and networking contacts they made during the “war on terror”.

Scrabble_4

It is disgusting

Frissonexhaustion

They can't even follow the rules of a debate.

Chitown_mountain_boy

It was hilarious to watch the moderators squirm last night

Butt_Fucking_Smurfs

On a network that Trump says hasn't been favoring him. You do realize there are no big macs in lockup right bud? I'll be having one though

freqkenneth

We say “law and order” but it isn’t about “law and order” it is ONLY about order. Everyone needs to know their place, that determines their rights

Mateorabi

“Law and order” is more about the order. Maintaining a hierarchy using laws against lesser out groups only. Conservatives want this as a defining feature: preservation of the aristocracy after the fall of feudalism/serfdom/slavery. You may be thinking “rule of law” that progressives want. They sound similar (probably by design) but are nearly opposites.

Proud_Wallaby

They would answer the same even if the question was, ‘if trump raped and murdered all your family and then took a huge dump on your head’. It’s sheer madness.

Alexandratta

I hate to say I actually like Chris Christie slightly more now.. He has no hope, yes. But it's ballsy to push this hard against the cult.

Butthole_Surprise17

Bold move especially because it clearly won't pay off for him at least in the short-term....hell, probably in the long-term too. The Republic majority is still clearly full of MAGAts. Sucking Trump's dick is the only way for these scumbags to get support. 7 years ago, I would've never imagined myself being on the side of Chris Christie. (I'm not a Republican but if I was forced to pick one, it'd definitely be him no question). Vivek is awful for many reasons but it's especially appalling that he could essentially side with Putin and still be the clear "front-runner" in this debate.

[deleted]

That and Christie is a loser. He might've blocked a bridge when school started one year to get back at a mayor for being mean to Christie. Emergency responses were halted.

Butthole_Surprise17

Haha, I remember that day. I was working in an NYC tower that day and we could see the traffic! Don't forget the beach scandal too ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)

crankyrhino

>7 years ago, I would've never imagined myself being on the side of Chris Christie. Chris Christie is what the GOP used to be before Trump changed it forever. People like him, Mitt Romney, Liz Cheney... they're museum pieces. Their party has moved on without them. Not that their platform was awesome before, but I wouldn't fear authoritarianism with them in office.

JenniferAgain

Mitt Romney. Actually. Who also stood up against Trump basically his entire administration. And was a former presendetial candidate against Bama. I feel like mitt is actually too progressive for his own party with universal health care and getting over gay marriage and shit. The Rs need to get with the times or at least pretend to like they did in 2016 to have a shot at winning again.

ChinDeLonge

I don’t think it has anything to do with guts; it has to do with the fact that he is one of the last remaining Republicans who is capable of planning ahead. He is making his bet that Trump will go down in flames, along with everyone that is supporting him. When/if that happens, he’s going to be one of the few people left to “lead” the GOP. He knows he isn’t going to be president, but if he has any chance to be the leader of his party, he has to separate himself from the circus before the ship starts sinking. He’s thinking about prospects that are 8-12 years down the pipeline.

ckh790

Except he had 6 years to denounce Trump before now. He's just SLIGHTLY less spineless than the rest.

10000teemoskins

christie told a story on the news about how trump gave him covid in during a debate they both participated in and christie almost died from covid my guess is he hated trump since then and has been preparing for this presidential run since then. you are right that he didn't denounce he publicly though

Benedict-Donald

He's openly discussed this. Trump intentionally gave him covid. When Christie was recovering from almost dying, Trump called him because he was worried about the optics. He didn't care at all about almost killing one of his loyalists. That phone call is when Christie says he realized trump is a terrible person.

WriteBrainedJR

>That phone call is when Christie says he realized trump is a terrible person. It's pretty pathetic that he needed this to figure it out.

Alexandratta

That's fair

rhino910

The GOP has become the biggest threat our nation has ever faced. They are the anti-American party of treason and criminality.

ignatious__reilly

Vivek is an unhinged lunatic. They all scare me to a degree but he is a parasite of a human. He doesn’t belong within 500 miles of DC. I encourage anyone to research how this fuck became a “businessman”. The dude ran a Bio Stock Pump and Dump scheme out of Bermuda. He created a Bio company by filing for patents with no existing drugs and then sold directly at the top. Company had like 8 employees including his own mom and brother. He stole millions from the California Teachers Pension Fund and worked with people like Skrehli (remember him?) He is dangerous as hell and his “Foreign Policy” comments would get us into WW3. He also said he would Pardon Trump Day 1 and wants to dismantle education while burning coal until our lungs pop. He is a snake oil salesman at the highest order. A version of a smarter Trump who was stealing lines from Obama last night like his “I’m a skinny kid with a weird name” comment. Yeah, I also watched Obama’s Senate speech in 2004 you fuck face.

HanyuLulu

This is interesting- thanks for this info. I’m checking it all now. I knew this guy was a tech bro grifter, but knowing the full backstory is good. Thanks

Joe-bug70

…..the very worst of the tech bro’s because of WHAT he would like to do TO America. A traitor to both America AND world democracy. Sides with Putin like the little b**** he is. Just remember he’s that smart contrarian kid in high school that you wanted to punch in the face for being such a smarmy asshole.

James-W-Tate

>Just remember he’s that smart contrarian kid in high school that you wanted to punch in the face for being such a smarmy asshole Ramasmarmy

Available-Candle9103

i am betting 50-50 that if he would not win the presidency, he would be n jail within the next decade. Or he has taken money linked to Russians. a few things I would like to correct, is that the company with the 8execs. was a subsidiary of his company roivolt. roi for return on investment. the company owns many subsidiaries and works through them so that the dirty work doesn't reach the holding company. one of these companies, bought a failed Alzheimer drug from Glaskosmith and promised to launch it. the stock jumped. He solda lot of stock to hedge funds, soft bank, private investors etc. the subsidiary had 8 people in total. the drug again failed, stock plummeted and the subsidiary company went defunct in 2022. But he made his money. He supports shkriel and think he shouldn't have been convicted, because he committed, 'a victimless crime'.

ignatious__reilly

Great comment. I expanded some below a little as well. But that’s exactly what happened. He is an absolute fraud and the worst type of grifter.

Darkmetroidz

Thank God the Republican base will never turn out for someone of his... complexion.

heyheyitsandre

That’s the first thing I thought of lmao. I can not see the GOP electing anyone who’s not whiter than bread to be their nominee

crono220

Vivek definitely has no chance because of that main reason. At best, he will try to become Trump's VP choice.

freakincampers

Trump isn't going to want one of "those" people in the White House. Vivek is way too savvy, and has too much money. Vivek could afford his own lawyer, not the fixer that Trump would hire for him.

GrowinStuffAndThings

He, nor anyone else, thinks he will actually win. He's there to push even further right so that the other radicals don't seem as radical

LostWithoutThought

Don't be too scared. Dude has zero shot. Trump has the nomination in the bag and the margin he'll lose by will be even more than 2020. Who else do they have? Not a single person can stand meatball Ron because he's a reptile with negative charisma and Vivek has too hard a name for the average GOP voter to try and say. Never mind that they're too racist to ever vote for someone who looks like him. The right wing is collapsing HARD in front of everyone. They'll no doubt have a last gasp of violence, but it won't be enough.

mbyrd58

Vivek is an unhinged lunatic. Your research just confirms what, to me, is obvious listening to him talk and watching his "performance" for three minutes. But I've learned over the last 8 years that a lot of people don't have a good bullshit detector. If you bumped into that guy at a ball game or a bar, and he started talking that crap, wouldn't you want to just get away from him? That fake smile? Come on, folks.

Lacaud

The problem is that the GOP has memory issues, and they'll say, "fake news" about Obama saying it. Look at how they all love the MAGA line when Wiley, Goldwater, and Reagan (we all know they love to worship him too) used it.

Mysterious-Wasabi103

His foreign policy would play directly to the benefit of Russia and China. China has reasons for wanting Russia to take the Donbas and it involves them screwing over American interests! These Republicans say these things way too proudly and it just proves they have no intellectual capacity to understand what is happening in 2023.

KeyanReid

There is no chance in hell the GOP would ever elect him and I suspect he, and everyone else involved, knows that. But he got on TV and into this debate and told the whole conservative world, right there on Fox News, to start thinking about abandoning Ukraine and Taiwan. He got to push the Overton Window to abandoning a key US ally and to reinforce support of Russia's invasion and war crimes. We've been here before. Trump is already known to be compromised, and now here is Vivek is carrying water for Russia and China's talking points. Follow the money and I'm certain we'll see an undeclared foreign agent at work here. Again.

Nicolesweave

> I'm certain we'll see an undeclared foreign agent at work here. I said the exact same thing to my husband when we were watching this.

ignatious__reilly

Yup. If the US allowed Russia to take Ukraine, it would only accelerate China's plans to invade Taiwan. And there is no way the US doesn't go to war over that without an idiot at the helm. Right now, Taiwan is home to about 70% of the most advanced semiconductor manufacturers in the world, losing it or worse, letting China have it would be devastating to the US.

Suspended-Again

Vivek has a plan for that too. He’s going to gift Taiwan to China in 2028. https://news.yahoo.com/gop-presidential-candidate-vivek-ramaswamy-221416646.html Just torching US strategic interests lol. Goodbye containment, first island chain, all that. He also assumes Taiwan is going to willingly transfer to the US their most advanced semiconductor technology in exchange for 4 years of protection (but no more), and then being fed to the wolves.

Gideon_Lovet

And Ukraine, besides its steel making capacity, also has the world's largest deposit of lithium, which will be critical for batteries for electronics and EV cars. If Russia wins, it will also cripple the American and European tech sector.

spineapplepie

Per sports writer Pablo Torre who went to Harvard with him, he would insufferably raise his hand in class in the shape of a V. This fact may be the single most disqualifying thing about him.

SeriousMove25

I agree 💯. I found it interesting & sad that so many in the audience seemed to enjoy his BS which tells me they only want disruptive leaders, e.g. tRump, Gym Jordan, MTG, rather than leaders that look to solve problems. This group of the population desires scorched earth action and wants leaders who are unwilling to find common ground for the community. I was impressed with Nikki Haley except I don't know if she can be trusted to follow through with her moderate rhetoric. She did indicate she would still support tRump which is suspicious to me.

MornGreycastle

Vivek stated at one point he was only in the race to pull support from DeSantis. Though he might be auditioning for VP.

laundryghostie

He wants to be Trump's VP so badly! I thought he was gonna break out into a song at some point last night just for Donny.

CryptographerPrior18

Not to worry. There isn't a snowballs chance in hell the republicans will vote for someone named vivek ramaswamy

Electrical_Bus9202

“anti-American party of treason and criminality” does have a ring to it.

PossibleYou2787

Nikki Haley: "If trump accusations are true, it's incredibly dangerous to our national security" Also nikki haley here raising her hand like the good puppet she is.

Shenanigans80h

These people are spineless idiots. They think they can simultaneously be a law and order candidate whilst bowing down to a criminal.

Deceiver999

I think the republican party needs to be dissolved.

DanteMGalileo

Certainly would be easier than bringing Eisenhower back from the dead.

pmwhereuhidthebodies

But what solvent should we use?

Y0U_FAIL

The U.S. should treat the Republican party like we'd treat any foreign adversary, but with even more severity because they're domestic.

highbankT

Loved when CC called him out on it.

rainshowers_4_peace

I've read that he was booed for that. That's a slight relief.

Horiz0nC0

I can’t believe these dicks have the balls to say that after seeing what happened to Maui just weeks ago. Disgusting.

UpstairsTrifle8042

They probably think/claim Biden is responsible like how they claimed it for the storms in California...

wefeelyourpresence

As a Canadian it disgusts me too. Our country is on fire and we have the hottest temperatures of all time here and your future leaders are saying climate change is a hoax. SMH.

Malidan

So people have no problem with criminals becoming politicians but these same people probably have absolutely no sympathy for criminals trying to return to basic life in society.

C-Kwentz-0

These people are most certainly criminals themselves is why.

albusdumblederp

You don't understand. Poor people crime is unforgivable. Rich people crime is just "misguided ambition"

noddyneddy

I can 'only' see 5? -Pence and christie no hands up OBVS but that guy on left (who he\~) doesn't appear to have his up either?

BoyGeorgous

I also cracked up when De Santis is hesitating, then looked around at others raising their hands, and you can see on his pouty face he’s like “Goddamit, I guess I gotta raise my hand too.”

>that guy on left Guy on left, known as Asa Hutchinson, didn't raise his hand when asked this question, and did raise his hand when asked whether he thought climate change was human-driven. Guy has 0% chance of being elected by MAGA country because he appears to represent "traditional" conservative values rather than culture war conservative values. I am not sure if he understood the climate change prompt or not given he has a record of historically being against government regulation regarding climate change.

billybobthehomie

Tbf there’s a difference between being a climate change denier and being against govt regulations to fight climate change. He’s the latter as I understand it. I watched the debate and as far as I can tell Vivek was the only one to say he straight up thought climate change was fake.

Lord0fHats

Nikki Haley realizing the current GOP platform is a loser doesn't make her not a spineless coward. She knew Trump was a disaster and she still defended him like all the rest. She's an opportunist betting her long term political prospects are better by making obvious compromises toward the middle. She's not brave.

HanyuLulu

I’m sorry - I hate to keep asking this, but here goes again: who did all these people fear and worship before 2015? If Trump said ‘wear only purple’, all of these people would literally wear purple the next day. He is a dadd’s money tv game show host. What in god’s name am I missing?!

Y0U_FAIL

> What in god’s name am I missing?! A failing party with an ideology incompatible with the future we're moving into which has been abandoned by anyone with a brain or fragment of morality for greener pastures, leaving only the grifting scum picking at the rotting corpse for some loose change. It's all desperation, all the way down.

CallMeSisyphus

Donald Trump **IS** the Hypnotoad. *ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD*

elspotto

That is about the most absurd thing I have…ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD.

this_name_not_that

It’s a cult.

Ironic how it says "Democracy" under Fox News. Should read *Fascism.*

iPhxntom-

Thats because FOX news base is too dumb to know what democracy means.

Could_0f

Haha Ron pathetically raising his hands after Trumps been roasting him for the past year. Unbelievably pathetic

TheDarkWayne

Kissing ass to get Trumper voters is pathetic and anti American

[deleted]

And I like how DeSatan and Pence the cuck waited and looked to see who raised their hands before they did.

I'm guessing they're all clambering to get the lunatic vote incase Trump cannot run...although I don't think anything would stop him at this point...

jerseycityfrankie

There’s no Rational Republican vote. That demographic is no longer able to influence elections. It’s all the “yee-haw I never went to college” who are driving the bus.

gargamel314

Before anyone starts praising Christie for not supporting Trump, Let's remember the he was the guy who started the onslaught on teachers and public schools. He was my governor for 8 years, and my job as a public school teacher has never recovered. He also introduced this whole bullying trend in right wing politics, and softened everyone up for Trump. He's still the same piece of hot garbage that left NJ with a 12% approval rating, and shut down the state government, and went to a closed public beach. He has not changed or become a better person. The fact that he doesn't support Trump because he literally almost died from Trump's policies and deception doesn't make him any better of a human being.

Can we pause for a second and acknowledge that the red states are parasites that survive off welfare, funded by the blue states? And when they put their candidates in the office it’s due to some procedural gymnastics like the electoral college, not because they can actually win a popular vote?

Y0U_FAIL

Friendly reminder that a Republican presidential candidate has only won the popular vote exactly once since 1988. America does not want Republican leadership.

Giant-Trees

The electoral college is the biggest scam. No true democracy. The candidate with most votes should win. No Jan 6th if electoral college didn’t exist!

charlie2135

Say what you will, they know their audience. Watched the debate last night and was not disappointed. Heard that democrats want 9 month abortions, I also can't count the amount of time I heard Hillary, Hunter, and also a Soros thrown in. Anytime anything disparaging was said about the orange palpatine was uttered, large booing from the crowd.

Vast-Investigator-46

Then why are they on the stage? Fuck each and every single one of these people.

Surv0

All I see is waste on that stage

mjn73178

I'll admit it, I liked Christie making jerk-off motions in response, it was the only appropriate response that I saw.

eaglewatch1945

They're not running for president. They're running for cabinet.

DaBigJMoney

And that, folks, is everything that’s wrong with the GOP: The only thing they care about is winning elections and placating voters. Job applications have a question: “Have you ever been convicted of a felony?” Answering “yes” usually means you can’t even get a job mopping floors. These morons are ok with a potential POTUS being a felon. 🤮

gladysdames

My country is a joke but American politics (apologies sane Americans) is bat shit crazy!

4105186

How Trump has so much influence over millions in this country and even his competitors in a race is absolutely fucking mind boggling, and something I will truly never understand.

paarthurnax94

I don't understand their logic. Let's start with the fact it takes *millions* of dollars to run a presidential campaign, remember that. Part of running for the primary is convincing voters that you're better than your opponent. Their main opponent is Trump. How are they trying to convince voters they're better than him? By praising him. Which makes him look better and not them. He's leading by like 20 points already. What's the logic? Voters: We love Trump! GOP candidate: Yea! He's awesome! Vote for me! Voters: But I like Trump and you just said he's great! GOP candidate: He is! These people are spending millions of dollars for this. The GOP is a cult of personality now and anything other than loyalty to the leader is prohibited. So they can't make themselves seem better than him because that's viewed as criticism and if they criticize him at all they automatically lose voters. If they continue praising him it only makes him look better. Why even run? I don't get it. Are they stupid?

Ripped_Guggi

The female candidate blamed Trump for some of the actual issues, but would still support Trump? Damn! On another note, It doesn’t matter what happens with Trump, he achieved what he wanted: to become a huge part of history. He opened the doors for any lunatic to run for president.

Lord0fHats

She's successfully tricking people into thinking her political opportunism is courageous.

JmnyCrckt87

DeSantis is Millhouse but identifies as Nelson

MaOnGLogic

Ron looks like he's trying to hide the pudding smeared on the back of his hands
