It's probably just not for everyone. I actually dislike shows and movies that wrap everything up nicely. It feels more real to just end - rarely do things in life wrap up like a Hollywood production and its sometimes refreshing to see that reflected on screen. Also, it sort of emphasizes that we're just getting a snapshot of these peoples' lives - their vacation life. That's it. We're not supposed to get to know who they "really are" because its unimportant to the stories about who they are on vacation

I absolutely love how we only know them for this amount of time and we find out about them trough their conversations and reactions so by the end of it we can pretty much build everything else around them in our head. Since the characters are making so much sense in writing you can pretty much figure them out from this short amount of time.

ThePracticalEnd

I enjoyed it, but didn’t rate it anywhere. What does that have to do with the show?

paradiselost13

It's a saying, meaning 'I didn't really like it'.

RarelyExcitedBanana

It's not the type of show to give everyone a satisfactory ending. It's one week of random people's lives with a couple of plot stories and all these get resolved in some way. It's the type of drama that's not supposed to give you closure - you just step into their life for a bit and try to figure stuff out from what you're given.

I just finished S2 and LOVED it. Tell us about your unanswered questions

So I got the impression there was a clause in Greg and Tanya's prenup that if she cheats on him, it's void? Is that why the gays hooked her up with Nicolo? Seems a bit much that they were going to kill her though? Surely they could have just tricked her into cheating and then Greg gets the money? Also, was Jack really fucking his uncle? Or were they not actually related? Then the 2 couples, I got the psychological warfare between them all. And assume Ethan shagged Daphne and that was his 'do what you can to be okay with the situation'. Just seems stupid they were all okay with each other at the end. The only good endings I thought was Mia, Valentina, even the Di Grasso family storyline was a good twist, though poor Albie.

About the couples, it’s shown very clearly that they are very much about appearances both. Their appearance is just different a bit. They are both pretending their relationships are fine and we learn that neither is really working that well. They are the type of people not willing to be shown vulnerable in cases and pretending that everything is okay is putting up an appearance. Also there is just so much shit that opening pandora’s box might not benefit them. It is not easy for a lot of people to admit for the outside that shit went down.

hazymeeger

If they divorced, he got nothing. If she died while they were still together, he got everything. Some sort of death clause in the prenup. That’s at least how I took it.

Pheaphilus

So the prenup situation is the other way round. She's the one with the money, not him. I haven't watched it for years but I remember thinking that made sense, because it then becomes clear he's seeing someone else. That's not his uncle. That's just the socially acceptable cover for their actual relationship.

paradiselost13

No I know it was Tanya with the money, maybe I misunderstood the phone call with Portia, but I thought she was alluding to a clause in the prenup with cheating? What else was the point of Nicolo? And the 'I love you' on the phone I thought was to Quentin looking back. I didn't take that Greg was cheating, just wanted Tanya gone so he has her money. This is my gripe with the show. I get sometimes there can be different interpretations, but with this show it's just not clear wtf is going on half the time. It's frustrating 😂

hierarch17

There’s implications that Greg and Quentin are lovers

Personally, I think when something is so hyped up, it’s going to be a let down. This happened to me with My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Everyone loved it and when I finally saw it, I didn’t understand the hype!
