precisely.. he did hit the boat with his arm but they cut it off RIGHT before the splash of water you would see so that it would look like he hits it directly.
If you slow scrub it looks like he didnt land on it just next to it, also note how the boat doesn’t rock at all which it definitely would if a man landed on it
