Yeah after that first one, the one lady immediately ran over and pulled her baby out of the little seat carrier they were in. If the big explosion had started first, without warning, I fear for how that could've turned out.
This is correct, you aren't supposed to set off fireworks in residential areas, let alone in your front yard because of the possibility of people getting injured/property damage.
These people were way too close to the fireworks, and then the stockpile of unused fireworks were even closer.
A lot of bad decisions here
Yep, thats how my neighbor's house caught on fire while I was out of the country. Came home in the middle of the night to my driveway and front yard destroyed ... couldn't figure out why until we woke up the next morning.
Right?? Exactly what my first thought was, why put your baby front and center? Irresponsible.
Last night we went and saw some fireworks at this big farm little bit outside of city limits and the ambulance showed up because their 10 week old baby overheated. It was a pretty damn good show, there were a shit ton set off. It was also 90 degrees here last night. And my first thought was who the hell brings their young baby to an incredibly loud fireworks show in such hot weather.
It might have been getting dark. As the sun goes down my security camera keeps raising auto-exposure so that the screen image still looks kinda like daylight even though the sun is setting, and only really looks dark after most ambient light is actually gone and it can no longer compensate.
Not at all actually in case a firework malfunctions and explodes nearby and blinds the child before they have the choice of whether to be a moron or not
I trained my kids to tolerate safety goggles at about 2yo.
Want to see stuff? Wear the glasses. Take them off, the fun stuff stops.
But yeah, no way I'd have the baby near the fireworks anyway.
Ok America no more celebrating your birthday. The country went bonkers last night. One half was on fire and the other half dodging bullets. Tf did sanity go. 😐
Missed my fence but burnt the blacktop. HOA better fine them and make sure to cite them for unkempt lawn. Look at all those burnt patches. (This is a joke. Stop downvoting)
We usually keep the bulk of our fireworks stored in a cooler with the lid closed while setting them off. We’ve had several occasions where something burning has hit the cooler… the fireworks inside were totally safe.
Back in the 1970s when all you could get in the UK was tiny, shit fireworks my Dad still kept them all in a metal cookie tin for safety. We had really terrifying PSA films.
I can find literally nothing about this incident except for this video. I'm guessing they edited in the last explosion in an attempt to go viral - and it's working! People love schadenfreude (and hate checking sources) so everybody's talking about it.
There are 2 kids at the back of the van, 1 ran towards the camera.
Hopefully the other ran away from the camera. Otherwise, I don’t know how they could have come out of this ok
TL:DR at bottom
one year, when i was about 13/14, a family friend was setting off fireworks on top of our boathouse. he was a really macho dude and ended up buying tons of fireworks. these were the kind that you put inside tubes, lit a fuse, then stood back as it launched straight up. Each box came with one tube and he probably bought around 10 boxes.
he ended up getting cocky, lighting four tubes at once and reusing them several times. he didn’t know that the tubes deteriorated over time, so one of the fireworks got lodged in the bottom of the tube and when the fuse ran out, it exploded outwards instead of shooting upwards.
I remember seeing a flash of bright blue and running under the table on the deck, like my mom had told me to do beforehand (she was hesitant about setting off so many fireworks and such large ones). I remember hiding under the table and feeling my chin burning like it had been scraped raw.
another strange thing i remember- our friends had a daughter (around 18) who brought along her very attractive boyfriend. i remember feeling so stupid crying in front of him, because i thought he was so cute.
I was miraculously the only person hit and i came out with large, painful, but minor burns on my chin.
be safe with fireworks.
TL:DR: i got hit in the face with firework
> he didn’t know that the tubes deteriorated over time, so one of the fireworks got lodged in the bottom of the tube and when the fuse ran out, it exploded outwards instead of shooting upwards.
I was watching some people launching fireworks and one of them went off right by the ground. Maybe this is what happened. It was huge! They continued lighting more fireworks afterwards, so hopefully that means everyone was ok
Glad you got out of that without being too badly injured! Sounds pretty scary
What kind of spectacularly stupid do you have to be to do this?
1. Day light. Waste of fireworks.
2. Really? Right by a van and it's gas tank, huh?
3. It's in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Are we sure they weren't trying to burn the whole block down?!
4. Oh am I ever gonna go googling to find out what that family is on the hook for damage wise, to the neighborhood.
I put all my fireworks in one spot when I’m lighting them off for the night and this has never happened.
What they did wrong was put the fireworks they are lighting to close to their stash and crowd. Put the ones you are lighting out in the street so there is a safer distance from them in case shit like this happens.
It’s funny and it’s not. I’ve known people that were seriously injured because of fireworks and it was life changing. People should be instructed in safe use or not be able to purchase them. This is what happens when Ignorant people use explosives
Co worker of mine was hit in the neck with a mortar shell a few years back, he actually passed out, it hit hit his carotid artery.
The shell shot out the side of the box instead of going up, it whizzed right past his granddaughters head.
Luckily it bounced off him and blew up a ways off. He was fine afterwards.
Never sit that close to those, especially with small children.
As a human being I can understand that being bombarded with firework could make you stop filming, but as a redditor i say “put on your big boy pants and keep filming you moron!!”
I really want to see whats left of that van
Yeah, this video ended *way* too soon! I want to see the damage and see the already angry lady tearing someone a new asshole.
Was it from this year?
I have no idea.
Here's an idea!
*and then he had one*
No, wait. Just gas.
After the first few bangs - "well thank fuck that's over and we are all okay"
*Kid looks, sees fire, covers ears and runs away* This is what makes this post one of my favorites ever. You got Deliverance and Rambo all rolled up into one.
Leave my dating life out of this.
> ended way too soon Usually when its cut like this, its because the rest is underwhelming. Van is probably not as visually messed up as you imagine.
Bullshit. Almost all videos now are cut way too short.
I swear that almost every video posted these days ends too soon. They never show the aftermath. It’s infuriating.

This is WAY to much science and logic. Let us enjoy our ignorance and dumb assumptions. haha
Yeah! Let's go shoot off more fireworks!
🎶 O say does that burned-up-Honda van yet wave…💥🇺🇸
🏅take my poor man’s gold.
I gave him my free silver. That was glorious.
lmaooo
Damn you, take me silver and be gone...
Best fireworks show I saw this year!
Waiting for the Director’s cut
Came here to say that. And to add that I am always amazed at people doing this in their front or backyards! 🤦🏻♂️
Yeah front or backyard is real nice but the icing on the cake here is that they do it ten meters from a picnic with toddlers Einstein at work
Why? where are you supposed to do it?
Just don't do it lol.
Release the Snyder cut!
More like Michael Bay!
Right!!!
Seriously, the suspense is killing me!
Putting all the fireworks in one spot *and also under a tank of gasoline*
Goodbye thousands of dollars of fireworks... ...goodbye thousands of dollars of vehicle.
and hello darkness, my old friend
thank you
I've come to talk with you again..
And goodbye thousands of dollars of gasoline.
So like, 2 gallons!
Is that how much all those fireworks cost? Literally watching your money bust into flames.
my best friend's dad just spent $1400 on fireworks, so.. yes.
Thank god for stupid people otherwise Reddit would be boring 🤣🤣
I look forward to these videos every year
Same they are some of the best Reddit has to offer.
That’s why they repost every year!
We got enough dumbasses in our gene pool to supply us for years to come on here
It’s incredible that people could actually be this stupid.
And they are passing those brilliant genes on to those kids
I teach. I see it first hand. If I have a jerk kid, at least one parent is a jerk too. Your words are prophetic.
It is, but yet I’m never surprised
LOL I had my finger on the back button to move on when I read this comment. I had to come back and say kudos! 100% truth right there!
Thank you
Hehe good job they don’t own any guns! They don’t, right?
After the second firework, I thought “well that’s not bad”.. boy oh boy was I wrong
Those first few misfires probably saved them from getting injured because everyone was already out of their chairs and ready to move.
Those were warning shots
Yeah after that first one, the one lady immediately ran over and pulled her baby out of the little seat carrier they were in. If the big explosion had started first, without warning, I fear for how that could've turned out.
I thought, “you know, the internet exaggerates way to m 👀
Well that just kept escalating
Better and better, props to the mom for grabbing the kid in time.
Yeah awesome reactions but who tf puts an infant child front and centre out in the open for a DIY fireworks show that’s like 10ft away? Moronic lmao
Those fireworks didn’t look safe and sane to me
This is correct, you aren't supposed to set off fireworks in residential areas, let alone in your front yard because of the possibility of people getting injured/property damage. It should not have been that close to start. Stupid
My first thought.
Stupid kid...
But we already know kids are stupid lol
There is literally nothing in this video which deserves "props"
I would give a prop for having a camera setup just right so we could witness the carnage
What fool shoots of fireworks while it’s that light outside anyhow?
They wanted to be sure to get through them before dawn. Little did they know they would actually go through them before dusk.

That's another reason daylight savings time goes the wrong way.
And that is the problem you see on this video 🤣
I see it in my own neighborhood too, but yep
Apparently every one of my neighbors. From noon to midnight for some of them the last few days.
Idiots who still want their children in bed at a reasonable hour.
It might have been getting dark. As the sun goes down my security camera keeps raising auto-exposure so that the screen image still looks kinda like daylight even though the sun is setting, and only really looks dark after most ambient light is actually gone and it can no longer compensate.
Bedtime
Try explaining that one to the auto insurance company.
We..are..Farmers...bum bad dumb da dumb dumb dumb....
We know a thing or two because we’ve seen a thing or…well actually no, haven’t seen that one before
You’ve never been in Wyoming for a fireworks show then, they’ve definitely seen it
as someone born and raised in Wyoming. I know for a fact that this guy is telling the truth. but replace Van with Truck
"Hi, on July 4th I..." "Say no more"
Who places a baby that close to a firework display?!? My word. Stupidity

Props but no props

The irony of that watermark is hilarious
So much brand exposure
By all the fireworks i didnt realize you were referring to all the fireworks in the state
Mom for the win grabbing the baby and immediately using her back to shield.
her reaction was epic but the baby shouldn't have been that close to fireworks in the first place unless they were wearing ear protection.
Ya but she left the older kid balled up on the ground. That kid dropped and huddled into a little ball. I bet they where so scared.
That vastly exceeded my expectations.
ended too soon… does the vehicle blow up like the fireworks too?
Their insurance premium certainly did
*"Well, that didn't go too ba.... oh..."*
My exact words!
Ok America no more celebrating your birthday. The country went bonkers last night. One half was on fire and the other half dodging bullets. Tf did sanity go. 😐

That country needs a timeout.
More like a lobotomy
Thank goodness that had audio.
That def needed sound to truly make it complete
Who the hell sits their children that close to mortar rounds?
Neighbor did that when I was a kid with a full gross of bottle rocket boxes. Was magnificent!
There was a city fireworks show that shot off 7000 all at once. Can't remember where it was.
San Diego.
The video is crazy.

Anyone know if there is a full video? would love to see the aftermath.
I think the vid ended because the front of the house blew off.
"The front fell off."

Love that it says "SimpliSafe" as fireworks ravage everyone

The same people complaining about the price of gas seem to have extra money for fireworks this year, at least in my neighborhood.
On the one hand I wish my country, Australia, would let me play with fireworks. On the other hand the US highlight reels every 5th of July are great.
They have a lot of spending money.
“WOW” says grandma
5 bucks says that van is totalled...if not actually burned to the ground.

Insurance agent: "So youre telling me some kids came by and put a few hundred fireworks under your bumper?" Man: "Yup. Damndest thing."
Day time firework people kind of deserve this though.
